If youâre drunk point to the sky
AgentReign prompt if you still want one: A mission goes badly and Alex and Sam end up quarantined together. Forced proximity can do things to a person.
All Sam keeps saying is, âsit down.â Over and over again for what seems like the past five hours, Sam has been trying to urge Alex to sit. Which, of course, was easy for Sam. Lena had been able to pick up Ruby from school, Sam has received the week off to recover, and Supergirl even took a selfie with her so she can prove how cool she is if anyone - Ruby - ever questions her. Alex, on the other hand, was a blubbering mess. She wanted to be out there. She wanted to fight or at least get an update on what the hell was going with that giant monstrosity of an alien. Alex was just starting to understand why Kara hated small spaces.
âItâs not so bad. Thereâs a cot!â Sam had also been trying to cheer Alex up for the past few hours. Itâs not that Alex didnât appreciate her attempts, but it wasâŚawkward. Alex barely knew Sam aside from seeing her at a few game nights and that one time Alex went over to Samâs house to show Ruby how to volley a soccer ball. Alex didnât have the heart to say that there was only one cot and that sheâs was starting to get nervous that maybe Jâonn wouldnât figure out what theyâd been contaminated with and Alex would be stuck here for the rest of her life.
Getting sprayed with literal goo was the last thing Alex wanted to deal with. She felt terrible that Sam had been in the wrong place at the wrong time too.
âYeah, sorry. I justâŚcivilians donât usually get forced into quarantine with agents.â Which was true. Usually, the DEO set up a field operation, but because Kara had been so worried, sheâd flow Alex and Sam to the DEO containment unit.
âAm I that bad?â Alex finally turns around and sees Sam sitting on the cot. Her legs are splayed out and a pillow is propped up behind her neck. She looks comfortable. Calm. Beautiful.
Shit.
This was getting worse by the second. Alex needs to keep her emotions in check otherwise sheâs going to end up saying something stupid or at least something that will ruin Lena, Kara, and Samâs new super-friend-trio. Emphasis on the super. âWhat? No, youâre awesome!â
âReally? I didnât know you had such a high opinion of me. Youâre usually kind ofâŚI dunno, drinking in the corner.â Sam shrugs, Alex winces. She didnât know that Sam noticed her distance. To Alex, it was just her thing. Moody, broody, and a little drunk.
âThatâs just cause I didnât want you to notice that I was checking you out.â What the fuck? Alex thinks. âWhat the fuck?â Alex says. Why did she just say that? Samâs cheeks are a little pink, so Alex knows that she for sure said that aloud. Alex quickly turns away from Sam and searches the room for an escape route. âUhâŚsorry, that was completely inappropriate.â
âNo, itâsâŚitâs okay,â Sam assures Alex. âSo, this is what National Cityâs FBI headquarters looks like? Itâs snazzy.â
âThis is actually the DEO, a secret government operation in charge of apprehending rogue aliens-.â Alex throws her hands over her mouth. Alex turns on her heels and spots Samâs mouth hanging open. Whatever the hell is going on, itâs not good, and Alex canât seem to figure out how to stop it. Alex rushes over and slams her hand against the call button, which directs her signal to Jâonn. âJâonn, what the-.â
âIt seems that youâve both come in contact with a parasite. A truth goo as Supergirl has so pointed out. Weâre working on treatment as we speak,â Jâonn explains. Â Alex closes her eyes and sighs.
âJâonn, I donât know if you remember, but Iâve got a lot of shit that I probably shouldnât be telling a civilian.â Alex turns to Sam. âNo offense.â
âWell aware. Just try not to say anything.â With that unhelpful advice, Jâonn terminates the feed. Alex slides to the ground and leans her back against the glass.
âSorryâŚwe probably shouldnât speak.â
âSure. Iâll shut up.â Sam zips her lips with a smile. Alex canât help but feel a little charmed by how well Sam is taking this whole situation. Alex knows how difficult it can be to be put in a crazy situation. Sam must feel so alone right now. âI like your haircut by the way.â Alex instinctively touches her hair. It was still something she was getting used to but it didnât hurt that pretty girls kept telling her how nice she looked.
âThanks, still trying to figure out how to beâŚme.â
âIâm bisexual.â Sam cringes. âNot sure why I just told you that but I guess thatâs this whole truth thingâŚumâŚsorry. I think I justâŚitâs a nice realization. Iâm still trying to figure out the right words and all.â
âNo, Iâm happy you told me, even if itâs because you had no control over it. You can trust me.â Alex finds that she likes Samâs smile more than she realized before. Instead of hiding away in a corner and listening to Winn talk about Star Wars, Alex really shouldâve been hanging out in the middle of the room trying to figure out how to make Sam smile more. âIf you ever want to go to a queer bar, Iâm game. Ever since Maggie shattered my heart, Iâve become very good at being a wingwoman.â
âIâm not all that interested in other people. Iâd much rather go home with you.â The air stills. Alex can feel her heart racing and if Sam is ashamed of what she just said, sheâs not showing it.
âThatâs very forward of you.â
âTruth goo, canât help it.â Sam stands and takes a seat beside Alex. âUmâŚIâve been trying to throw signals at you for months now. Did you not notice?â
âUhâŚIâm kind of a useless lesbian. You could kiss me and I probably would think youâre just being nice.â Sam leans in, capturing Alexâs lips. It takes Alex a second to register that Sam - gorgeous, warm, brilliant Sam - is kissing her. So Alex kisses her back. It takes her a second to find her rhythm, itâs been ages since Alex has felt like she wanted to be touched, and now she wonders why she didnât just jump Samâs bones the minute theyâd met.
Sam is a good kisser. Amazing, actually. And Alex has a thought, that perhaps the one cot wonât be much of a problem, but then thereâs a loud beeping which causes Alex and Sam to pull back from each other. Alexâs breathing is heavy as is Sams and Alex is about to say fuck it and dive in again, when someone clears their throat behind them.
Jâonn and Supergirl are standing there with their eyes wide. Jâonn has his arms crossed over his chest and Supergirl is covering her laughter. âLena owes me fifty bucks,â Supergirl says between giggles.
âShut up, Kara!â Alex yells.
âWaitâŚKara is Supergirl?â Sam asks. Jâonn closes his eyes and sighs.
âMs. Arias. Youâre gonna have to sign a few documents.â
The drabble list number 37 and AgentCorp please.
37. âI tried my best to not feel anything for you. Guess what? I failed.â
Iâm way too excited to write this one. Thanks so much for the prompt!
Alex storming into her office at 2:30 on a random afternoon was not something that Lena ever expected. And, when it happened, she was honestly terrified. Whenever Alex stormed in anywhere, it was rarely good and she was usually angry or just feeling extreme emotions that she didnât know how to deal with. So the moment Alex opened the door, Lenaâs heart practically stopped.Â
Alex, on the other hand, wished her own heart would stop for two seconds so it would stop racing so fast she could hear it. It was distracting. And, honestly, the  sound of her heart beating like that only made her more nervous for what she was about to do.
âWe need to talk.â She said, shutting the door behind her. The look on Lenaâs face was almost unreadable, but Alex swore she could see a little bit of worry in her eyes.Â
âWell, you might as well sit down.â Lena nodded, sitting up. âWhat exactly is going onâŚ?â She asked. Alex sighed and sat down on the couch. Then, about five seconds later, she got up again and started pacing around the room.Â
âHonestly? Iâm not sure. Something is clearly wrong with me.â Alex said. Lena looked confused. Alexâs tone seemed more frustrated and angry than the worry that usually came with a sentence like that.
âThatâs a little vague, Alex, and frankly itâs a little concerning.â Lena commented. She was always concerned about Alex, considering her dangerous job, but she tried not to show it so much. Heaven forbid Alex actually figured out how she felt about her. Alex stopped walking for a moment and just looked at her.
âI tried my best to not feel anything for you. Guess what? I failed.â Alex said suddenly. Lena was too surprised by the confession to feel any relief or joy about the fact that Alex felt the same.Â
âYou⌠feel something for me?â
âYeah. A lot, actually, and itâs all really good feelings. Which, honestly, it sucks. Of all the people for me to have feelings for, it turns out to be my sisterâs best friend. And Iâm so scared for what Kara would say if she found out. But Iâm trying not to care about that, because I had to tell you.â Alex said, barely breathing between sentences.Â
âYouâre more concerned about your sisterâs thoughts than my own? What if I didnât feel the same?â
In that moment, all the color drained from Alexâs face. No, she hadnât really thought of that. Sheâd been so worried about how Kara would feel if she and Lena dated that she didnât consider if Lena even wanted that.
âOh, my god. Lena. Iâm so sorry. I shouldnât have assumed, I just thought that maybe youâd like me back, and I had to tell you or Iâd go crazy. Iâm so so sorry if this makes things weird, I justââ
âAlex. Breathe, please. Itâs okay. The truth is, I have feelings for you, too. Unfortunately, I share the same worries about Karaâs reaction, so I never said anything. But Iâve wanted to. For a long time now.â Lena explained, interrupting her rambling.
âSo⌠What do we do?â
âWell, how about we try it? One date, we only tell Kara if it works out. And if it works out, hopefully sheâll just be happy that weâre happy.â
âOkay. Iâd like that. I really would.â
âDinner, then? At six tonight?â
âIâll be there.â
Itâs a new headcanon of mine (thatâll get crushed this episode, I know, which is why I wrote this very quickly) that as Alex slowly figures out whatâs missing, that Kara might be Supergirl, sheâd 100% find comfort in someone like Lena
Lenaâs one glass of scotch into her lonely evening when a knock on her door disrupts the crappy tv show she hadnât been paying attention to in the first place. Willingly or not, Lena likes solitude. Lena likes being alone, and she most certainly doesnât expect a soaked DEO agent to stop by on a weeknight - or ever.
Sheâs always regarded Alex as strong and confident, and miraculously sheâs exuberating it even now. Hands behind her back, eyes dull and barely acknowledging the opening door. Lena thinks she must be incredibly brave to show up like this. There had always been a gap between them, but Lena bridges it once sad eyes meet empty ones, instinctively pulls her into a tight hug.
Lena hadnât previously been aware of the storm raging outside, too caught up in ones much closer to her heart. Though now that she sees Alex like this, all dishevelled and wet hair, she suddenly takes note of the rain hitting her windows rather harshly. The water cascading down pale cheeks could be anything, but red eyes indicate it to be mostly tears. And Alex smells of scotch even more so than Lena herself.

Even in death you cannot respect a woman enough to use her name. How disgusting.
Jesus fucking Christ. She was a real life WARRIOR and the only thing these people value is her physical aesthetic. You have got to be fucking kidding me.
I cannot fucking believe this, she was a 19-year-old Kurdish woman with a name. NINETEEN-fucking-years-old and she led an all-female battalion against known ISIS groups in Syria, and they comment on her appearance before her rank, her age and donât even use her fucking name? RIP Asia Ramazan Antar, you will be remembered.
So disrespectful.Â
RIP Asia Ramazan Antar, you will be remembered.
41. If you donât go to sleep right now, Santaâs not coming.
This isnât full on smut, but you might not want to read it in certain places.
â
âSheâs asleep,â Alex says as she enters the room, only a cinnamon scented candle lighting it.
âGood.â Lena says from her place lounging on the bed. âCome here.â
Alex wastes no time climbing on top of her wife, pushing her weight down on Lena as she brings their mouths together.
Lena runs her nails over Alexâs back, digging lightly through her pajama top as she wraps her legs around Alexâs hips to pull her in.
Alex pulls back just slightly to kiss Lenaâs cheek before she kisses her more firmly, tongue swiping quickly into her mouth. Itâs an easy rhythm at this point, theyâve kissed millions of times.
Alexâs tongue is hot in Lenaâs mouth, commanding like it always is, like Lena absolutely loves.
Alex pulls away, biting Lenaâs bottom lip as she does.
Lena legs move from Alexâs back to the bed, letting Alex press her pelvis into Lenaâs center.
âFuck,â Lena husks just as the unmistakable sound of little feet in the hallway stops them.
Alex groans; climbing off Lena to deal with their daughter.
âWhatcha doing?â Alex asks as she opens the door, catching their four year old tiptoeing from her room towards the living room.
âMama, I heard Santa,â she whispers.
âSanta wouldnât be here this early baby, but you have to go to sleep. If you arenât asleep he wonât be able to come in.â
Lily nods, tiptoeing back to her room.
âGo to sleep baby so Santa can come,â Alex tells her, walking over to place a kiss to her head.
She settles into bed, closing her eyes right.
Lena is still in the same place Alex left her when she gets back.
Alex doesnât say anything, just crawls back on top of Lena, kissing her cheek before moving to nip along her neck. Alex runs her tongue down Lenaâs neck, flicking it back and forth over her sensitive skin. Alex bites just above her collar bone, sucking the skin until itâs pink. Lenaâs fingers tangle in Alexâs hair as Alex continues to trail kisses up her nexk to her ear. Alex sucks her earlobe into her mouth, releasing it with a wet pop as her hands move between their bodies to untie the the robe that Lena is wearing.
Alex pushes it to the side, revealing Lenaâs breasts and stomach to her.
Alex keeps kissing lower, to the tops of Lenaâs breast. As she is about to take Lenaâs nipple into her mouth, there is an unmistakable clattering in their living room.
âFuck,â Lena groans as Alex stands, already heading to the hallway.
Alex walks into the kitchen, finding her daughter looking wide eyed at the knocked over milk meant for Santa.
âI thought I heard him Mama. I wanted to check and see if heâd eaten the cookies,â Lilly says, and Alexâs entire heart melts.
She cleans up the milk, putting out a fresh glass for Santa before ushering Lilly back to bed.
âDo not get up again,â Alex says, soft of sternly but also sort of softly because Alex really canât be stern with her all that well.
When Alex gets back, Lena has taken off her underwear, clearly ready to get to it.
Alex kisses her, Lenaâs fingers tangling in her hair again, already pushing Alex down to her chest.
Alex swirls her tongue around Lenaâs nipple, moving down to suck it into her mouth. She bites down hard, knowing Lena loves it. She soothe the bite with her tongue, flicking it quickly over Lenaâs hard bud.
Alex moves lower, kissing and sucking down to her belly button, dipping her tongue into it to swirl around. Lena squirms prompting Alex to kiss lower. Lenaâs legs fall open more to accommodate Alex.
Alexâs tongue moves through Lenaâs folds just as the unmistakable sound of their daughters door closing sounds through the house.
Alex marches out quickly, a whine leaving Lenaâs mouth.
âIf you donât go to sleep right now,â Alex says sternly, âSantaâs not coming.â
Alex watches Lilly scamper back into her room, jumping under the covers.
âI mean it Lilly. Santa wonât stop if you get out of bed one more time.â
âGoing to sleep Mama,â Lilly says, holding her eyes closed tight.
When Alex gets back, Lena is still lying there, looking back at Alex with hopeful eyes.
It only takes Alex a minute to make Lena come, legs shaking, Lena biting down on her hand to contain the moan.
Alex moves back up to kiss her, just as Lena pushes at Alexâs chest to flip them.
âYou know sheâs going to be up at like 5 AM, right?â Alex asks as Lena starts to work on pushing Alexâs pajama shirt up.
âItâll be worth it,â Lena grins back.
Alex barely gets two hours of sleep before Lilly is waking them up, excitadly screaming that Santa came.
Itâs everything Lena has ever wanted as she watches Alex start to put toys together.
Alex and Lena bond over previously dating an Olsen.
âI doubt weâll be getting the Olsen family Christmas card this year,â Lena says as she sits, crossing her legs before she reaches for her wine glass.
âProbably not,â Alex responds after a long pull from her beer. âWhat happened with you two?â
âI wanted to love him. I felt like I should. I felt like he should have been everything I wanted..â Lena trails up, looking up to the sky like itâll provide answers.
âBut you didnât?â
There it was. A simple declaration of a loud truth. âNo, I didnât. I just always feel like Iâve got to give up a part of myself for love. I donât think itâs supposed to feel like that.â
Alex pauses, trying to formulate her thought. âI understand that. You shouldnât have to though.â
They sit in silence other than the scrape of glass across the countertop, the quiet sound of someone swallowing their drink.
âWhat about you?â
âKelly and I only went on a few dates,â Alex begins, âBut I just wasnât feeling it.â
âHow so?â
âYou know in that old Mary Kate and Ashley movie? They called it âreach for the stars, over the fence, World Series kind of stuffâ when describing love. I want it to be like that. I want butterflies when she looks at me. I want to rush home just to wrap her in my arms. I want to feel new inside every single time I kiss her.â
Lena doesnât respond, just settles to finishing her wine and listening to Alexâs quiet breathing.
âDo you want another?â Alex asks as she stands from the couch to grab another beer. Lena hands her the wine glass, fingers barely touching, and Alex feels it immediately. The spark like sheâs been lit on fire. She walks into the kitchen, reaches for a bottle amongst the ten at the bar because she knows what Lena will want without asking. Alex fills the glass a fourth of the way up, knowing how Lena will respond if she puts more, even though it means Alex will just have to get up again. And all of that, knowing which wine Lena would prefer tonight, knowing how to pour it, and that undeniable spark in their touch, it all makes so much sense now. Alex actually takes the time to look at Lena as she hands her the glass and God sheâs breathtaking and how could Alex not realize this before this moment?
Alex barely speaks as they each finish their drinks, Alexâs heart hammering away in her chest. âI should get going,â she says as she sits her empty bottle down.
âOr you could stay,â Lena says, so quietly, so unsure, like if she speaks itâll shatter the protective ring around them in the silence.
Alex doesnât respond, but she does drop her jacket, stepping forward until she can sit on the sofa right beside Lena. Alex turns to her, a silent conversation about if this is what she wants, raging between them with just glances and raised eyebrows.
And when Lena kisses Alex, itâs nothing like reaching for the stars, hitting a ball over the fence, or the World Series. No, this is shooting past the stars, landing in a galaxy that no one knows about. This isnât a single homerun, itâs breaking the record. And this isnât the World Series, this is being the MVP of the team that wins.
And when Lena pulls back, teasing smile on her face, Alex knows sheâs an absolute goner.

luclex - the time it takes to heal (rated m)
Pairing: Alex Danvers/Lucy Lane Summary: Itâs the holidayâs and every year, Alex and Lucy are at each otherâs throat. But after a year when Lucy doesnât show up, she comes back from the war and everything about her has changed. A/N: *shows up over a month late to the holidays after thawing in Massachusetts* so i wrote this like a week before christmas but then it got out of hand ie much longer than i anticipated. i donât know who is going to read this but eyyyyy - warnings: depression, ptsd, survivorâs guilt, unresolved sexual tension, a lot of healing
ao3 link
Lucy stares at the ceiling.
Itâs late into the night and she canât sleep. Sheâs been staring at the same spot for what feels like forever. Thereâs a war inside of her heart and she feels it throughout her entire body.
The window is open, leaving the cool National City air to creep in. Itâs cool enough to remind her of where and when she is, but not comfortable enough to fall asleep. Her body has grown accustomed to the Middle Eastern heat in the last four years.
Only a week has passed.

anon, you the real MVP because not only did you give me the numbers but also the actual prompt so i dont have to keep switching screens because i forget what the prompt is - come into my box anytime (it sounds dirty yes, but you know what i mean)
Itâs freezing as fuck. It feels like Alex has been in a fridge for days as opposed to hours. Her best efforts in keeping herself warm is mediation in the corner of the room where a warm vent is, which is hard with handcuffs cold around her wrist. She tries to look the least pitiful because somehow, someway she has to think of a way to get out of this.Â
The problem is her instructions are not to talk.Â
In her defense, if she could talk she would just say that sheâs doing her job. Thatâs what happens when you try to do your job, the bureaucracy gets in the way and arrests you. Alex admits though, it looks bad when youâre stealing intergalactic missile plans from the government but you canât say anything because you represent a shadow government organization.Â
Fuck. How am I going to get out of this?
Alex has been the casing the place since she got taken in. One, itâs hard when you have a bag over your head. Two, itâs the stupid US Army thatâs taken her in. Three, itâs a single operator mission; no back up.
The door opens up and Alex immediately stands.Â
In walks a woman, a short one with tan skin and a hair pulled up into a standard bun, in formal dress by the pips at her shoulders, sheâs a Major. Alex tilts her head, is she in heels? She tries not to get distracted by the muscular calf muscles from years toning.
âAlexandra Danvers,â the woman addresses holding up a simple manila folder. âMy name is Major Lucy Lane and youâre being held for treason as it seems.âÂ
Lucy takes off her hat and places it on the table along with the manila folder. She gestures to the seat across from her and Alex stares curiously as she takes it. Lucy waves off the guard to leave them alone.Â
Thereâs a blip of silence before Lucy opens up the manila folder. âAlexandra Danvers, PhD in Xenobiology from UCLA. It says you moved from Midvale, CA when you were 18 years old to National City where you attended undergraduate studies. You have an exceptional record, Alexandra.âÂ
Alex twitches. She knows sheâs not supposed to say anything, but she hates being called Alexandra. She hates it so much because it feels like sheâs getting scolded.Â
Lucy goes on, âYou were recruited by the FBI right out of undergrad but you turned it down to pursue your doctorate. However, it seems like you took a bit of a break in your doctorate studies for three years? Three years is a bit of time, do you want to talk about it?âÂ
Alex snorts. Talk about it. What is this a feelings session?Â
âYouâre doing a good job at not talking but itâs not going to do you any favors,â Lucy says as she flips the folder to Alex and pushes it to her. âYouâre going to prison for a long time, maybe a couple of lifetimes if you donât talk.â
Alex stares at the folder. In the corner she spies a paperclip, but pretends to be more interested in what they know about her.Â
âYouâre being charged with treason for the secrets that you were trying to steal. Do you understand whatâs going on here?â Lucy leans in and Alex vaguely feels her heat radiating off of her. She tries not to get distracted by the comforting warmth and runs her hands over the papers wondering what details they got right, inching her way towards the corner. âThe government will not stand for any pro-alien sentiment so long as aliens pose a threat to the Nation. We will be defended so long as we have the support from key executives in all respects. And no shadow organization is going to get in our way without our know how.â
Alex rolls her eyes through Lucyâs spiel. She turns the folder back over to Lucy with a shove, feeling the paperclip pressed securely into her palm. âThatâs not me,â she curtly speaks for the first time, her voice a bit hoarse from the cold. She sits back in her seat and crosses her arms.Â
Lucy looks impressed at Alex and she takes back the folder. âIâll leave you to think about it. People like you are being locked up every quarter of the hour on rotation. Iâll give you an hour to think about it. If you happen to change your mind and do want to speak to me maybe I wonât be halfway to Hawaii by then.âÂ
Alex tilts her head in curiosity. By the tone that Lucy was speaking to herâŚwas she flirting? Because she can think of one or two sexy moments in Hawaii.
Thereâs a sly smile at the corner of the Majorâs lips as she slips her hat back on like sheâs in some Western. âIâll be seeing you soon, Danvers.âÂ
Alex smirks to herself. See you soon, Lucy.
âââââââ-
57 minutes and a half a mile through the woods from the bunker she was being held at, Alex hears a quiet rumbling of a standard DEO truck. She runs even faster towards the sound.Â
The army is going to find her soon if the unconscious bodies she left behind were any indication of their failures.Â
For a brief moment, it feels like her mind is playing tricks on her because she knows her hour is almost up and she hasnât seen the truck.
Thereâs a glint in the dark night and Alex sees the shimmering logo briefly before it goes black and rushes towards it. The truck sits at the bottom of a rough path that hasnât been used in ages and she jumps in without a second thought.Â
âYouâre late,â Lucy deadpans beside Alex as she turns the gearshift and peels their way down the path.Â
Alex sighs at the ridicule before looking at the clock. â90 seconds late,â she argues, grabbing onto the handle bar above her head. âI wasnât expecting you to come get me.âÂ
Lucy laughs. âYou were breaking into a government facility protected by the US Army and did not expect me to come get you? What kind of girlfriend do you think I am?âÂ
âI think youâre the best,â Alex flirts.Â
âOh now you want to flirt.âÂ
âYou were speaking in code trying to break me out, Iâm sorry if I canât find that sexy.âÂ
âI mentioned Hawaii.â
Alex laughs. âYeah and I almost cracked.âÂ
Lucy reaches for Alexâs hand over the gearshift and laces their fingers. âIf I have to break you out another time, Iâll try harder to make that happen.â She smirks at Alex and winks before she focuses on the road home.
Alex/Lucy 20 and 42?
20. Teachers AU and 42. The Big Damn Kiss
âYouâve been hearing the rumours right?â Lucy asks, balancing the phone between her ear and her shoulder. Sheâs trying to get her running shoes at 5am and it isnât easy when her eyes are bleary and sheâs exhausted.Â
âArenât we a little too old to little to our studentâs rumours?â Alex says with a light laugh. Sheâs just as tired as Lucy is but sheâs getting on a plane to come back from a conference right now and knew Lucy would be the only one awake to keep her company until she got on the plane.Â
âAbout us,â Lucy clarifies as she stumbles out of her room. âI heard from Tim, who is friends with Terry, who told Steph and Babs, that you and I were kissing in the teachers lounge. Passionately.â Thereâs a laugh that escapes her lips at the thought.Â
Alex on the other hand, doesnât laugh right away. She feels warm, her cheeks are pink, and if Lucy were there, sheâd see the very physical reaction that Alex was having at the accusation they were kissing at work. Or kissing at all. âWhat?â she lets out awkwardly, playing it off as incredulity. âUs kissing? Weâre friends. Best friends. How did this rumour even happen?âÂ
âApparently, Terry Mcginnis walked by the teachers lounge when you and I were fighting over the last chocolate chip cookie Kara made.â Lucy throws on her jacket and makes sure she has her keys. âIt makes sense.â
âWhat makes sense?â Alex asks slightly alarmed.Â
âI distinctly remember ending up on top of you because of your gangly long arms,â Lucy answers with a chirp.
Alex full on blushes at the memory. On the list of things Lucy and Alex should not be doing at school, wrestling over a cookie was one of them because not only were they adults but they were professional colleagues and did she mention best friends? âYouâre insufferable,â Alex grumbles. âThis rumour is your fault.âÂ
Lucy fake gasps in offense before laughing. âYou need to learn to share Dr. Danvers.â
Alex rolls her eyes. âAlright, Iâm about to board my flight. Iâll be in for afternoon classes. Can you make sure the substitute actually collects the homework?âÂ
âYou know the subs hate it when I come by and do your dirty work. Iâm a history teacher not a chemistry teacher,â Lucy complains. Thereâs the sound of the door opening and she hums thoughtfully. âHuh. Maybe this is why our students think weâre dating.âÂ
Alex blushes. âYou donât have to then. I donât care.âÂ
âIâm kidding,â Lucy says quickly. âIâll make sure your precious students get their work in. Iâm going on my run. Have a safe flight!â
âOkay, be safe. I love you.âÂ
Alex clicks off her phone, still warm at the conversation with Lucy. People think that she and her are dating? Thatâs crazy, theyâre best friends. Sure they hang out a lot even though theyâre in different departments but Lucy is reliable and smart and Alex doesnât trust anyone at the academy to secure her work like Lucy.Â
It just takes Alex half of the plane ride to realize she said I love you to Lucy without realizing it.Â
âââââ-
That is the last time Lucy is going to the chemistry department. All she had to do was collect the homework and be on her merry way. Not coach the stupid substitute teacher on how to perform basic lab safety, which in turned backfired because he idiotically left the gas on too long causing a small explosion.Â
Thank god she still had quick reflexes from all her time in the military to jump into action, but she otherwise liked how calm and relaxing being a teacher was.Â
âEveryoneâs safe, everyoneâs fine,â Lucy reports to Jâonn and the fire department. âWe got the students out first.âÂ
âBallsy of you to go back in and shut the gas off,â the fire chief says.Â
Lucy shakes her head. âItâs lab safety,â she jokes, kind of wishing Alex was there to hear it. To be honest, sheâs a bit pissed because it shouldâve been turned off at the same time the students were rushed out, but Derek had forgotten to turn it off.Â
They have to wait awhile for the fire chief to finish their inspection and seal off the lab and check all the other gas lines.Â
âSheâs going to be pissed,â Lucy grumbles as she crosses her arms. She smells like smoke and the shoulder of her shirt is a bit singed. Jâonn and Kara who are flanking her nod in agreement. She looks around at their students milling about wondering what they were supposed to do. Luckily it wasnât a period she had a class, so she wasnât too worried about missing students, but it was still Alexâs class she looked out for.Â
It made her miss Alex even more. Thereâs an irrational thought that the whole situation could have happened to Alex and Lucy would be fiercely worried. But thereâs a comforting thought that Alex would never let this happen.Â
âLucy!â Alexâs voice fills the air catching their attention.Â
Lucy sees Alex rushing through the crowd in her suit with her messenger back slung over her shoulder haphazardly.Â
Suddenly thereâs a moment, where time seems to slow down. Lucy can see the worried look on Alexâs face clear as day. Even though, she looks a bit weary and the exhausted from the plane ride, something about the way the sunlight hits her makes her look beautiful. Lucy can feel her heart pound inside of her because seeing Alex is the only thing that matters to her in that moment.Â
Alex pushes her way through the crowd as best she can before she stands in front of Lucy, her arms already reaching.Â
Lucy does the same like they always do when they meet up. Sheâs ready for a hug. Suddenly, sheâs swept up into Alexâs arms and kissing her fiercely like sheâs missed her for ages. Without thinking, Lucyâs hands grip the lapels of Alexâs suit jacket and they kiss like theyâve always known how each other do.Â
Except they donât. The thought is jarring as they pull apart. Alex looking both flushed and relieved as she cups Lucyâs cheeks. âThank god youâre okay,â she says breathlessly.Â
Lucyâs trying to catch her breath too as she grips hard onto Alexâs jacket. Her mind is still playing catch up as she stares at Alexâs face. âYou just kissed me,â she says dumbly.Â
Alex blushes. âI know, Iâm sorry. Kara called me and told me what happened. And I got scared and panicked the whole ride over here. I shouldnât have done it, I donât know why I did it.â Lucy can feel Alexâs heart racing under her hand. âThen I saw you and you were safe and I was relieved, but I was still scaredâhmpf!â
Lucy covers Alexâs mouth with her hand to stop her rambling. Thereâs an affectionate smile on her face as she says, âJust so you know, if our students didnât think we were dating before, they sure as hell do now.âÂ

12 and 56 for Lucy/Alex?
12. Roommates AU and 56. Awful First Meeting AU - âŚomg they were roommates
Lucy hates being in a new city without knowing anyone. It makes her feel lost and vulnerable and itâs a feeling that she doesnât sit alone well with. Especially after a shitty day at work. Itâs why sheâs sitting a bar down the street from her new apartment - well, new apartment in a few days because the job with her father started earlier than she had anticipated so sheâs been living out of a duffel in a hotel.Â
âIâll have two of what sheâs having,â a voice suddenly says beside her.Â
Lucy looks over to see a beautiful woman with auburn hair slide into the seat beside her. She notices the smooth expanse of her pale skin because of the bob cut sheâs got going. Itâs extremely vivid and Lucyâs pretty sure itâs because of the three shots sheâs already had.Â
âOh, no I couldnâtââ Lucy presumes the second drink is for her.Â
The woman looks at her, raising her eyebrows playfully as the bartender pours two shots of the whiskey Lucyâs been drinking. âWhat makes you think theyâre for you?â she asks cheekily, taking the first shot just as the bartender pours the second.Â
Lucy lets out an incredulous chuckle. âMy mistake.âÂ
The woman takes the second shot with a smirk on her lips before waving the bartender for more. âWould you like me to buy you a drink?âÂ
Lucy stares curiously at the woman.Â
âWell, I didnât want to be presumptuous,â she playfully explains.Â
Lucy scoffs, again caught off guard by her response. âAre you always a smart ass?âÂ
The woman looks mighty impressed by Lucyâs directness. âWould it bother you if I said yes?âÂ
Lucy narrows her eyes and licks her lips unconsciously. âI havenât decided yet.âÂ
Four dart games, two pool games, and way too much to drink later, Lucy hasnât decided if Alex, whose name she discovers after winning the third game of darts, is bothersome. She does get Lucy bothered though and hot. Really hot.Â
It might be all the shots they keep taking like water, but Alex is extremely hot and smart. She can hold her liquor, talk to Lucy about sciences, and play pool really fucking well.Â
Lucy feels dizzy as she enters the bathroom blindly, dragging Alex with her by her t-shirt their lips kissing fervently.Â
The stall is small, cramped, and hot. It makes Lucy hotter and hotter. Alexâs hand slips under her shirt and Lucyâs tugs at her belt.Â
âI donâtââ Alex mumbles against Lucyâs lips. â-usually do this.âÂ
Lucy smiles as she feels the sink behind her. âI donât either,â she admits. A hand grasps at nape of Alexâs neck, playing with the short hairs. âBut I really want you right now.âÂ
Alex shudders against Lucy. âAre you sure?â The confidence and bravado she exuded earlier replaced with quiet apprehension and modesty. Itâs cute and makes Lucy want her even more.Â
Lucy lazily smiles. âUh huh,â she leans into Alex, nibbling her bottom lip.Â
Alex groans and they keep kissing. It feels like theyâre kissing forever. Lucy feels her body get hotter up to her neck. She tries to breathe through the kisses because she doesnât want to stop. The dizziness starts to get to her though and she canât focus. Alexâs hands are under her shirt, caressing her waist and she feels her stomach turn.Â
Lucy groans, feeling sick. âWaiââ She pushes Alex back, pushing herself from the sink and dropping to her knees, her feet hit Alexâs shins. And she goes straight for the toilet to vomit.Â
Everything that comes up feels fucking awful. And it doesnât stop. The whiskey she had tastes worse coming back up, burning her throat slightly as she heaves. âFuck, fuck, fuckââ Lucy groans as she rubs her forehead, thereâs a thin sheen of sweat. It feels even hotter than before.Â
Suddenly, there are hands at her neck, pulling back her hair before a paper towel is put before her face. Lucy glances over and sees Alex staring with concern. âThis is embarrassing,â Lucy sadly says as she takes the paper towel to wipe her mouth. Before she can finish wiping, she feels the need to vomit again and Alex holds onto her hair, rubbing her back, and telling her itâs going to be fine.
Needless to say, the night doesnât go on for much longer. Lucy all but books it out of the bathroom, still dizzy, slightly sick, and definitely drunk. It is mortifyingly embarrassing. Luckily, once sheâs outside, she starts to sober up, just slightly, climbs into a cab back to her hotel and hopes that she never has to see Alex again.
Itâs a shame though because Alex actually seemed like a really awesome person. Lucy just feels like she made a goddamn fool of herself. Throwing up in the bathroom of a bar with a girl you were almost about to have sex with. God, she wasnât in college anymore. Even then, she held it together much better in college than that night.Â
Part of her wants to at least say Thank you to Alex but sheâs never going to have that opportunity. She thought they exchanged numbers but all Lucy vaguely remembers is calling her cell phone from Alexâs phone so that she had her number.Â
There are no missed calls the next morning and the only message she sees is from her roommate, who is coincidentally named Alex, asking âare you alive?âÂ
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Lucy doesnât get to respond though because she gets called away to work, completely disgustingly hungover and drowned under paperwork until the weekend.
Itâs been a few days since her bar incident and she thinks about Alex almost everyday, still mortified at how much of a fool she made of herself.Â
On the day she moves in, she gets a weird text from her roommate asking if she was still going to move in.Â
Lucy is literally at the door with her duffel bag when she gets the text. Instead of texting, she knocks on the door.Â
In a second, the door swings open and Alex, her Alexâthe bar Alex, stands before her, wearing glasses and athletic shorts and a NCU sweatshirt. Lucyâs jaw drops because for a second she doesnât recognize Alex from the bar because she looks less badass smooth operating lesbian and moreâŚgirl next door?Â
âAlex?âÂ
âHey, youâre here!â Alex greets just as surprised. âI just texted you.âÂ
Lucy tries to wrap her head around what the fuck is going on. âWaitâdo you have a twin?âÂ
Alex furrows her brows in confusion and itâs ridiculously cute. Not hot, CUTE. âWhat? No, I donât have a twin.âÂ
âButâyouâweâyouâre Alex from the bar right?âÂ
Alex blushes and nods. âYeah, thatâs me,â she rubs the back of her neck. âI thought you figured it out too when I texted you.â Lucy stares in confusion. âYeah, at the bar when you dialed your number into my phone, your name showed up already. I feel like we talked about this.âÂ
Lucy rubs her forehead painfully. âThat night is partly hazy to me,â she admits.Â
âOh,â Alex lets out. âSo what do you remember?âÂ
Lucy swallows, now she blushes. âI remember drinking a lot with you, darts, pool.â She clears her throat. âWe, theâin the bathroomâ Alex nods quickly, she was there and she remembers ââŚand me throwing up.â Then it clicks. âOh! Thatâs why you texted if I was alive.âÂ
Alex chuckles. âYes, thatâs why I texted. When you didnât respond I thought you were that embarrassed because you realized we were going to be roommate. Thought you maybe didnât want to move inâŚto avoid any awkwardness.âÂ
âOh,â Lucy lets out. âI get that text a lot better now.â In that brief moment, Lucy weighs her options because Alex is still staring at her curiously wondering what her next move is. âWe are both grown adults, we can work this out right?â
Alex doesnât say anything and lets Lucy into the apartment. This might be the worst idea ever.Â

52. Accidentally Witnessed Kiss
âWhy am I not surprised to find you here?âÂ
Alex doesnât stop stitching the cut above her eyebrow because she can see in the mirror Lucy standing in the doorway. âWhy am I not surprised to find you here?â she sasses back in return.Â
Lucy makes her way to the empty bed next to where Alex is stitching up and unzips her bulky jacket. Thereâs a groan she tries to suppress as the jacket comes off and throws it on the ground.Â
Alex hears this and says, âThe doctor is not going to be happy youâre making a mess.âÂ
Lucy groans loudly as she lies back down on the bed. âI donât care,â she says in a blase manner. âI think Iâve got three bruised ribs and some internal bleeding.âÂ
âAww, poor baby,â Alex cheekily says as she finishes up her stitch. Alex drops the forceps and tweezers into the kidney bowl with a clatter and sees the disgruntled look on Lucyâs face. She applies some ointment on her stitches before bandaging it up.
Thereâs a small hmpf from Lucy as she just lies back and stares at the ceiling. She clasps her hands on her stomach and shuts her eyes. âIt really hurts and all I want is to make up the sleep I lost in the last 72 hours.âÂ
Alex turns in the stool she was sitting on and rolls over to Lucyâs bed. âWant me to kiss it better?âÂ
Lucy opens an eye to look at Alex. âAre you messing with me right now?âÂ
Alex leans down coyly. âWhy would I ever do that?âÂ
Lucy tilts her head at Alex, narrowing her eyes suspiciously. âBecause the last time I flirted with you in the med bay, you threatened to kick my ass.âÂ
Alex snorts. âBecause there were people around.âÂ
Lucy glances around. âSo youâre only nice to me when no one is around?âÂ
âAnd what about it?âÂ
Lucy laughs to herself. She shakes her head in disbelief not only at what Alex is saying but at herself. Because she knows that Alex isnât as big of an asshole as she makes herself out to be. âYou really are something else, Alex Danvers.âÂ
Alex smiles down at Lucy. Itâs one of her tender smiles that in intimate spaces, Lucy can really appreciate. And she ducks down slowly and Lucy lifts her head just slightly until their lips meet in the middle until theyâre kissing each other warmly. Lucy forgets sheâs in pain briefly with a sigh into Alexâs mouth.Â
Thereâs a swish of the door opening and Alex pulls away quickly, turning her stool as fast as she can to make it look like she was staring at the completely opposite direction that was not Lucy.Â
âAh, you two again,â Dr. October says with a knowing smile on her lips. âI walked in at the right time. No doubt two minutes later and youâd be jumping each otherâs bones.âÂ
Alex turns beat red, refusing to make eye contact with Dr. October. Lucy glances between the two women before she sees the smirk on the doctorâs lips.
Lucy feels just as red under the scrutiny. âAh! Ow! Dr. October, help me, Iâm in so much pain,â Lucy suddenly yells out dramatically to distract her. Dr. October just simply laughs at the two.Â
