We had a 15 minute sketch session. We only created a few rough scamps, we based it on an ‘old school style’. We wanted to take the ice cream branding back to traditional typography and illustrations. We didn’t want to follow the generic stripes and dots as we felt it’s been over done too many times. We’ve decided to go for a 70′s theme relating to the ice creams established date. 

I feel I’m on the homeward stretch with this brief too. I’ve started to add a tiny little bit more detail with my illustrations, I did this by adding shadow’s behind them to give it that little bit more of life. I feel the posters are starting to look a lot better than what I had before. I’ve experimented with the type size to make it look less ‘slapped’ on. Having smaller text on the posters at the bottom work a lot better, than it did before. The poster’s need some work done to them as theres a lot of negative blank space, I feel to cover up that blank space I’m going to where they can find us on social media and where they can keep update with news alerts. 

The pastel colours don’t work and it doesn’t tie in with the other posters. These posters are too light and wouldn’t be striking enough during rush hour on the tube. If we put the collection together with the other posters you wouldn’t think they are from the same collection because of the colours. Also some of the illustrations need some work on there as they aren’t quite there yet. However I do feel we are on to something and the collection is starting to come along nicely!
