we had a call with my partner's oncologist this morning because he wanted him to reduce his dosage of a medication he just started because it was giving him some really rough side effects The doctor mentioned how his blood work came back really good and then out of no where brought up how he should have a living will and suggested not to agree to ventilators and life support my partner was like "well I do want all that tho" and his doctor started to try to convince him otherwise

I genuinely need these doctors to 1: stop bringing up advanced directives and living wills immediately after telling him he's doing better than expected (it's making him feel like all his doctors expect him to die and have not faith in him) and 2: stop arguing with him when he states his wishes and feelings on the matter

also like.......have some tact about it don't just bring it up with no lead up and no warning super casually in a telehealth and assume you know what he wants literally fuck off

the worst part is that because the doctors in the hospital accidentally gave my partner serotonin syndrome he's not only not currently on his SSRI, but is on a serotonin suppressant Way to ruin my partner's whole day and make him feel hopeless 🙃🙃🙃

but through all of this no one is talking about how for over a year the sarcoma hasn't grown so why are we freaking out now???????
