BACKSTORY:
To put it short, ink and error were fighting over an au— the au got torn, a bunch of random stuff fell out of it, specifically a four leafed clover, a three leafed clover with a tear, a sticker, and a cutout, Ink’s paintbrush brought all said objects to life. Luck & Unluck were born alongside Sticker & Cutout ( @stims-la-jester ). They were both eventually adopted by Dream. Luck ended up being part of the Star Sanses alongside Swap, Ink, and her adoptive guardian, Dream.
As for Unluck—
Nightmare used Unluck’s naivety to his own advantage, taking him and manipulating him into one of the Bad Sanses, and due to emotional & mental manipulation- he developed the dark patch on the right side of his face & the gradient in his eyes, and depending on the level of control Nightmare has, his eyes change, and so does his behavior. (ex. below)
