      will splash from afar towards luciana,  knowing the spray of ocean water won't hit her  -  the girl far too away for rory to do much of anything,  and far too well gorgeously put together for rory to do much of anything to ruin her looks.   "i feel like i could take over the world, write a couple novels, and maybe run for president. except i don't actually care enough about this country to do that."  will twirl around in the water,  before getting out,  dark slick hair sticking against her skin.   "hand me a towel? it's not too cold. but i run hot. i still think you should give it a shot, luce."

              a  laugh  fell  from  the  girls  lips  as  rory  splashed  around  .  the  temptation  to  get  in  with  them  building  the  more  she  was  witnessing  just  how  much  𝐅𝐔𝐍  they  were  having  .  although  ,  luciana  did  strive  for  whatever  version  of  𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍  she  was  told  she  must  keep  .  a  life  so  detached  from  everything  around  her  in  a  way  because  she  was  too  busy  trying  to  live  by  very  specific  conditions  .          ❛     i  mean  . . .  if  it's  not  too  cold  ?     ❜          she  began  as  she  handed  rory  a  towel  .  eyes  glancing  over  at  the  water  before  looking  back  at  rory  .  she  always  did  like  hanging  around  the  other  because  of  how  𝐃𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓  they  were  .  rory  seemingly  doing  anything  they  wanted  without  a  second  thought  .  while  luci  on  the  other  hand  thought  about  things  probably  a  little  too  much  .          ❛       and  i'm  sure  there's  something  about  how  natural  water  is  good  for  your  skin  or  something  out  there  .     ❜          she  added  before  reaching  out  and  placing  a  hand  on  rory's  arm  .            ❛      okay  ,  fine  but  you  have  to  come  back  in  with  me  .      ❜          despite  the  fact  that  they  just  got  out  .

for  all  her  apparent  flaws  ,  tiny  jackson  was  one  of  the  best  friends  that  a  girl  could  have  ,  someone  that  would  learn  you  inside  out  and  make  sure  to  always  handle  with  just  enough  care  .  when  the  music  started  repeating  for  what  felt  like  the  thousandth  time  ,  she  raised  her  hand  in  the  air  ,  "  ok  ,  enough  !  we  need  a  drinks  break  ,  "  whether  that  was  because  her  head  might  explode  from  one  more  verse  or  for  the  others  welfare  going  unexplained  for  the  moment  as  she  grabs  the  phone  herself  ,  pressing  down  on  the  button  to  stop  everything  as  relief  flooded  in  .  already  holding  glass  between  fingertips  in  seconds  as  she  pours  her  latest  mixed  cocktail  (  a  lover  of  having  service  people  on  hand  who  were  great  at  their  jobs  )  and  hands  diamond  encrusted  glass  to  the  other  .  "  are  you  going  to  tell  me  what's  going  on  or  are  we  going  to  tiktok  dance  into  our  graves  today  ?  "  enquiring  raise  of  the  eyebrow  glass  lip  touches  her  own  ,  gloss  print  left  behind  .

               tiny  really  was  luciana's  best  friend  ,  one  of  the  people  in  her  life  that  she  would  do  𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆  and  𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆  for  .  knowing  that  tiny  would  do  the  same  for  her  .  it  was  easier  around  tiny  ,  feeling  as  though  she  didn't  have  to  be  so  picture  perfect  in  front  of  the  other  .  it  almost  becoming  draining  and  suffocating  living  life  trying  to  be  the  pristine  version  of  whatever  it  was  her  parents  wanted  her  to  be  .  a  moment  to  breathe  and  be  an  𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋  human  being  in  front  of  one  person  that  she  knew  had  her  best  intentions  at  heart  .  an  almost  relieved  sigh  fell  from  the  girls  lips  as  tiny  stopped  the  video  from  recording  .  an  excuse  to  stop  ,  as  if  the  other  knew  she  needed  it  .           (      even  if  the  truth  of  the  matter  was  that  they  both  needed  it  .     )          taking  the  glass  from  tiny  ,  she  took  a  small  sip  before  sitting  down  on  the  nearest  chair  .         ❛       i  don't  know  ?  i  just  feel  like  i  can't  stop  causing  problems  . . .  it  was  my  fault  . . .  the  thing  that  happened  with  charlie  .  charlie  was  trying  to  help  . . .  i  shouldn't  have  let  him  .  and  now  you're  forced  to  question  things  about  your  own  boyfriend  .     ❜        another  sigh  fell  from  her  lips  .  although  ,  there  was  a  lot  more  going  on  with  luciana  .  the  whole  thing  with  charlie  felt  like  a  𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐋  to  her  friendship  with  tiny  ,  one  of  the  only  relationships  in  her  life  that  truly  mattered  .  over  any  romance  or  anything  else  .

laying  there  on  luciana's  lap  ,  two  completely  delusional  people  who  would  only  encourage  each  other  in  thinking  that  whatever  romance  they  dreamed  up  really  existed  …  it  was  exactly  what  was  needed  .  closing  their  eyes  ,  they  take  a  deep  breath  as  if  it  is  too  hard  to  carry  on  with  talking  about  what  is  on  their  mind  ,  the  memories  of  the  blonde  haired  girl  too  heavy  and  painful  to  even  recollect  .  suddenly  grabbing  her  hand  for  dear  life  ,  placing  it  to  his  chest  in  a  dramatic  movement  …  "  we  rode  a  bike  through  times  square  .  i  was  on  the  front  and  the  wind  was  flowing  through  my  hair  so  majestically  …  it  is  majestic  ,  isn't  it  ?  "  doe  eyed  awaiting  reassurance  of  their  own  perfection  ,  forgetting  how  beautiful  their  hair  truly  was  when  so  enveloped  in  grief  .  "  she  could  hold  a  latte  no  matter  how  fast  i  pedalled  .  she  was  so  talented  .  "

            if  there  was  one  thing  kellan  and  luciana  could  rely  on  each  other  for  ,  it  was  the  fact  that  they  lived  up  in  a  version  of  romanticized  notions  and  feelings  that  most  people  couldn't  grasp  onto  until  much  further  into  whatever  relationships  or  𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒  of  love  they  encountered  .  meanwhile  ,  kellan  and  luciana  felt  as  though  things  were  burning  hot  the  moment  they  let  their  minds  run  wild  with  the  thought  of  someone  else  .  a  frown  played  on  her  lips  as  she  looked  down  at  kellan  .  squeezing  his  hand  once  they  brought  it  to  their  chest  and  clenched  on  .          ❛      she  sounds  perfect  ,  kellan  .  and  so  so  talented  ,  it's  not  every  day  you  meet  someone  that  could  hold  a  latte  that  still  while  riding  a  bike  .     ❜         a  sigh  fell  out  as  she  looked  at  her  friend  .  the  true  𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊  she  felt  in  her  heart  while  looking  at  them  in  so  much  pain  after  losing  someone  so  special  to  them  .  it  was  something  luciana  could  understand  .          ❛      it  sounds  like  you've  had  such  amazing  memories  together  .  like  she  was  able  to  bring  out  such  a  majestic  and  magical  side  of  you  .       ❜          and  she  truly  believed  that  even  if  the  memories  at  hand  were  just  a  couple  very  random  ones  .  in  her  head  ,  she  was  romanticizing  it  all  for  him  ,  just  as  he  had  .           ❛      she  might  be  irreplaceable  because  she  sounds  that  priceless  but  sometimes  there's  more  than  one  great  love  out  there  .     ❜          𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐘  . . .          ❛      we  can  make  a  little  fire  outside  ,  make  some  toasts  . . .  mourn  but  also  honor  the  time  you  two  had  together  .     ❜           an  outrageous  idea  but  it  made  sense  to  luciana  .

"you're just every where, aren't you?" jack responded with a smile, though his tone made it clear that he was annoyed. under different circumstances, he would've been quite flattered by the attention she was paying him. but presently, her persistence was proving to be QUITE annoying. and he felt it was his duty to make sure she knew that. he scoffed, loudly, at her reference to her subtle hints. "if anyone's been too subtle, it's me," he responded, his eyes narrowed. "i would've thought you'd gotten my hint by now."

                call  her  naive  . . .  delusional  . . .  but  she  wasn't  stupid  .  if  anything  ,  luciana  fell  into  the  previous  categories  because  she  would've  much  rather  lie  to  herself  than  face  anything  that  𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘  mattered  .  that  being  said  ,  she  noticed  the  shift  in  jack's  tone  .  thinking  that  she  might've  caught  him  on  a  bad  day  .  that  was  until  his  comment  about  being  the  subtle  one  .  she  didn't  know  exactly  how  to  read  it  but  it  was  starting  to  feel  like  her  presence  𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐍'𝐓  really  something  he  was  looking  forward  to  on  that  day  .  a  little  taken  aback  ,  thinking  at  the  very  least  that  he  enjoyed  her  company  .           (      unless  all  the  smiles  were  an  act  ?      )          nevertheless   ,  she  told  herself  she  was  reading  too  much  into  everything  as  always  .  the  smile  never  really  leaving  her  lips  ,  something  else  luciana  had  practically  𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐃  in  her  mind  .  never  falter  .          ❛      hey  ,  is  everything  okay  ?     ❜

                    ace   stiffs   a   laugh   as   luciana   ,   a   little   tipsy   ,   rushes   up   to   him   .       “   yeah   ,   no   prob   ,   i   got   you   .   ”       he   nods   ,   friendly   grin   on   lips   ,   and   takes   her   phone   with   practice   ease   .       he   steadies   it   as   luciana   strikes   a   pose   ,   making   sure   to   capture   the   festival   surroundings   in   the   frame   .       after   capturing   a   couple   shots   of   her   ,   he   skillfully   flips   to   the   mirror   front   camera   ,   taking   several   photos   of   himself   pretending   to   take   her   pictures   .       “   perfect   ,   ”       he   exclaims   ,   encouraging   her   ,       “   you’re   nailing   it   .       now   ,   switch   it   up   .       try   another   pose   .   ”

                  luciana  was  on  cloud  nine  which  could've  had  mostly  𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆  to  do  with  the  alcohol  in  her  system  .  but  ,  genuinely  ,  she  was  having  a  good  time  .  laughing  when  ace  told  her  to  do  another  pose  ,  she  started  pulling  different  poses  .  her  hands  coming  up  to  her  face  to  cover  it  as  she  continued  ,  feeling  a  little  shy  .  despite  the  fact  that  she  modeled  for  a  living  .  also  completely  𝐔𝐍𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐄  that  he  was  taking  photos  of  himself  . . .  although  ,  there  was  a  big  chance  that  she'd  see  them  later  and  the  romanticizing  delusional  part  of  her  would  think  this  was  a  sign  of  flirting  .  she  really  was  𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒  in  . . .  so  many  ways  .  as  stated  a  million  times  before  . . .  she  choose  to  live  in  her  own  delusions  over  having  to  live  in  any  𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘  .  it  being  something  that  had  already  sucked  her  dry  enough  times  .  it  was  better  to  get  twisted  up  in  fantasy  rather  than  anything  real  .  nevertheless  ,  that  was  all  besides  the  point  .  finishing  up  with  her  poses  ,  she  practically  skipped  back  over  to  the  male  .           ❛     have  you  ever  thought  about  becoming  a  photographer  ?     ❜         she  teased  ,  a  smile  spread  across  her  lips  as  she  let  out  a  laugh  before  a  hand  coming  up  to  his  wrist  and  grabbed  on  .           (      blame  the  alcohol  ,      )           ❛      you  know  what  we  need  !     ❜          she  began  ,  eyes  widening  for  a  moment  .          ❛      ice  cream  !  i'm  gonna  get  you  an  ice  cream  .  call  it  a  thank  you  for  all  your  hard  work  !     ❜

       it was a gorgeous day, ej took a walk around the park, a coffee in one hand, && a book in another. he enjoyed days like these, where he could relax, && let his mind W A N D E R . others were doing the same, listening to music, writing, reading some book. after sometime, he ended up spotting someone get up && a journal falling out of their bag. he ran up to them && grabbed it. " hey–– you dropped this, " ej said.

                    luciana's  guilty  pleasure  was  going  to  the  park  and  𝐒𝐊𝐄𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆  .  of  course  ,  her  parents  weren't  really  for  her  art  work  but  it  was  something  that  she  held  near  and  dear  to  her  heart  .  something  she  actually  𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐃  and  𝐄𝐍𝐉𝐎𝐘𝐄𝐃  . . .          (      probably  even  more  than  what  she  actually  did  for  a  living  .     )         something  that  was  more  so  picked  and  crafted  by  her  parents  .  she  had  been  sitting  there  for  awhile  ,  sketching  whatever  she  saw  ,  whatever  nature  caught  her  attention  before  finally  getting  up  .  thinking  she  had  slipped  the  sketchbook  into  her  bag  ,  she  hadn't  realized  it  wasn't  secure  as  she  got  up  and  the  notebook  fell  to  the  ground  .  it  would've  went  𝐔𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐃  if  it  wasn't  for  the  other  stopping  her  .  a  smile  formed  on  her  lips  as  she  took  the  notebook  back  .          ❛      oh  my  gosh  ,  thank  you  so  much  . . .  my  very  own  knight  in  shining  armor  .     ❜         she  teased  as  she  tucked  the  book  away  in  her  bag  .  this  time  making  sure  it  was  more  secure  .           ❛     how  could  i  ever  repay  you  ?     ❜           she  was  just  teasing  around  ,  but  she  was  thankful  .           ❛     have  you  ever  been  to  the  bakery  down  the  street  ?     ❜

kellan  answered  the  door  ,  a  look  of  despair  gracing  their  features  as  they  accept  the  (  deserved  )  condolences  taking  the  flowers  .  traipsing  into  the  living  area  of  their  home  ,  they  collapse  down  on  the  couch  ,  blanket  pulled  back  over  him  .  "  i  really  can't  believe  this  …  but  i  suppose  ,  it's  better  than  to  have  loved  and  lost  than  never  loved  at  all  …  "

                     as  kellan  went  further  into  his  home  .  luciana  closed  the  door  behind  her  and  followed  them  into  the  living  room  area  .  a  saddened  look  across  her  features  as  she  watched  them  in  such  a  look  of  𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊  .  if  there  was  anything  that  kellan  and  luciana  had  in  common  it  was  the  way  their  whole  world  could  crash  and  burn  due  to  the  feelings  that  boiled  up  inside  of  them  .           (      they  were  dreamers  ,  in  a  way  .     )          ❛      sit  up  for  a  second  ,     ❜         she  spoke  softly  as  she  slowly  helped  him  up  and  sat  down  .  grabbing  a  pillow  and  placing  it  on  her  lap  before  gently  laying  his  head  back  down  on  the  pillow  .  fingers  brushing  through  his  hair  ,  trying  to  comfort  him  in  his  𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄  𝐎𝐅  𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃  .            ❛      and  i'm  sure  that  you  brought  so  much  to  her  life  while  she  was  here  .     ❜          the  dramatics  turned  up  to  eleven  ,  the  two  talking  about  a  woman  like  she  had  passed  when  she  was  very  much  alive  .           ❛      she  was  so  luck  to  have  known  you  ,  kellan  .  you're  so  special  and  have  such  a  great  heart  .     ❜         she  continued  to  brush  her  fingers  gently  thought  their  hair  .           ❛      wanna  tell  me  your  favorite  memory  with  her  ?     ❜

soft humming could be heard coming from the toned figure standing at the stove in luciana's kitchen, accompanied by the quiet hissing sound of something being fried in a pan. once he had woken up that morning in bed with luci, the latter still asleep, he donned his boxer briefs and immediately headed towards the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the two of them. it was something he usually did whenever they ended up spending the night together; not only because he would go absolutely insane without something in his stomach upon waking in the morning, but as a way to treat his companion for the evening to something nice. the sound of footsteps caught his attention, bringing his humming to a stop as he glanced over his shoulder. "it's about time you woke up, sleepy head. are you hungry? i made something i think you're going to like."

                    luciana  really  had  been  ,           (      in  her  opinion     )           going  through  a  bit  of  a  𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐀𝐋  .  she  was  trying  to  act  as  normal  as  possible  but  with  everything  that  was  happening  in  her  life  back  to  back  it  was  a  𝐋𝐎𝐓  .  that  being  said  ,  yemi  was  a  good  escape  for  her  .  there  was  something  about  spending  time  with  him  .  as  well  as  the  way  they  were  able  to  let  off  steam  together  .  it  was  one  way  to  put  it  .            ⏤          eyes  fluttered  open  as  she  pushed  herself  up  onto  her  elbow  a  little  to  look  around  .  realizing  that  yemi  wasn't  in  the  bed  anymore  .  there  was  a  small  moment  where  she  felt  disheartened  by  his  absence  .  not  wanting  to  be  alone  in  any  given  moment  .  despite  them  just  being  friends  with  benefits  .  but  that  quickly  𝐅𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐃  once  she  started  smelling  the  food  .  rubbing  at  her  eyes  a  little  ,  she  streched  before  getting  up  and  throwing  on  her  robe  .  as  she  made  her  way  down  to  the  kitchen  ,  a  smile  curled  on  her  lips  when  seeing  the  male  in  the  kitchen  .  the  small  hums  being  heard  before  yemi  turned  to  look  at  her  .          ❛      you  made  me  breakfast  ?     ❜          she  questioned  ,  a  look  of  playful  shock  .  although  she  didn't  need  an  answer  ,  already  knowing  as  she  moved  closer  .  the  smile  never  leaving  her  lips  as  she  made  her  way  over  to  yemi  .  arms  snaking  up  and  wrapping  around  the  back  of  his  neck  .  head  tilted  back  as  she  looked  up  at  him  .  they  were  just  friends  ,  she  knew  that  but  she  could  be  a  handsy  person  when  she  wanted  and  she  was  comfortable  around  yemi  .          ❛      you're  adorable  ,     ❜          unwrapping  her  arms  ,  she  brushed  her  thumb  against  his  cheek  before  stepping  back  and  glancing  over  his  shoulder  to  see  what  he  was  cooking  .          ❛     what's  on  the  menu  ?  i'm  ready  to  be  impressed  ,  woo'ed  even  .     ❜            she  smiled  ,  scrunching  her  nose  a  little  at  the  other  .

        ❝  something  catch  your  eye?  ❞   yujin  came to a halt beside her companion, smiling shining. shopping never failed at putting her in a good mood; it was even better when she had someone to shop with. her gaze drifted toward the object in question, assessing it quickly, before returning to the other's face.   ❝ it's cute! ❞

                     luciana  couldn't  think  of  a  better  way  to  spend  her  day  than  going  shopping  with  one  of  her  best  friends  .  plus  ,  she  felt  like  she  𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐃  a  distraction  after  everything  that  had  happened  at  the  festival  despite  the  days  that  had  passed  .          (      she  was  still  in  a  funk  with  it  all  .     )          classic  luciana  ,  unable  to  really  digest  or  know  what  she  was  feeling  and  instead  she  felt  as  though  a  huge  shopping  spree  would  hit  the  spot  .          ❛      really  ?  you  think  this  one  ?     ❜         she  continued  to  hold  the  dress  up  to  her  before  moving  over  to  another  rack  and  picking  up  another  𝐒𝐈𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐑  dress  in  a  different  color  .           ❛      or  this  one  .     ❜      she  asked  her  friend  ,  holding  up  both  dresses  ,  waving  them  around  in  the  air  a  little  .  a  smile  spreading  across  her  lips  .

"right," jack clenched his jaw before nodding this head, "that's definitely your prerogative," he responded, his eyes narrowing momentarily. he remained relatively unbothered by the threat, if he could ever call it one. after all, luciana was hardly the only person with something against him. "so i've heard," this remarked earned a loud laugh, "thanks, i'm a bit strapped for cash after i had to replace my lighter," an obvious lie, "i'm coming, i'm coming," he chuckled before following behind her. he wasn't the type to pass up a free drink or several.

                   it  was  nice  seeing  jack  ,          (     in  luciana's  opinion  .     )         always  being  the  type  of  person  that  saw  the  best  in  people  and  wanted  to  𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓  or  be  likable  to  the  people  around  her  .  sometimes  even  willing  to  change  everything  about  herself  just  to  get  someone  to  like  her  .  maybe  she  was  doing  that  with  jack  ?  acting  extra  bubbly  and  jokey  to  try  and  get  the  males  attention  ?  either  way  ,  here  she  was  .  once  they  got  to  the  bar  tent  ,  luciana  let  go  of  his  hand  and  ordered  them  a  couple  drinks  before  𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆  them  and  handing  one  to  jack  .  a  smile  crossing  over  her  lips  as  she  looked  up  at  the  male  .         ❛      so  tell  me  jack  ,  what's  your  deepest  and  darkest  secret  ?     ❜         she  asked  ,  teasing  around  a  little  as  she  brought  her  drink  up  to  her  lips  and  took  a  sip  .
