Type I relationships are based on the astrological aspects Trine (120 degrees from your birth sign, your “siblings by element”) and Sextile (60 degrees, the elemental siblings of your opposite sign); they are under the positive influence of Jupiter and Venus, regarded largely as “aspects of luck and love”. These operate on the principles of “opposites attract” and “like attracts like” without the conflict of authority being an issue. Type II relationships are based on the Semisextile (30 degrees, basically the neighbouring sign), Conjunction (0-10 degrees, or your sign) and Opposition (180 degrees, the opposite sign). These are under the rule of Mercury, the Sun and the Moon respectively; quite naturally if the Sun is involved there will be an issue of authority and a clashing of egos. There’s literally nothing in common between you and these other signs and they aren’t even your mirror-image like the Opposition, so this makes communication extra hard. The point of such relationships is to learn self-control and respect for people with different views on life. It’s really the most long-term positive situation, but it’s hard to notice at first.
