It’s only here in the dark, where everyone’s already sound asleep except for you and the halls are completely silent, and all you can hear is the soft breathing of the beautiful boy in the cot next to yours that you allow your gaze to linger on him. It’s too dangerous in the light, even the slightest glance in Otoya’s direction will make him question it.
“I know I’m hot, but if you look at me for too long, you might fall in love with me, crow,” he’d tease.
“Yer so full of yourself, dumbass. Ya ain’t all that,” would come your reply too sharply, along with a hard punch to his shoulder.
It’s here in the dark where you slip out from underneath the covers, walking over to Otto’s bed, stifling a snicker at his loud snoring. You trace the lines of his face with trembling fingers before moving them along his eyelids, his nose, finally spending far too long along his lips. Otoya’s truly so, so beautiful.
But you’re just average Karasu and it wouldn’t even matter if the two of you weren’t trapped in Blue Lock and you actually had the guts to make a move. And Otoya is straight anyway, isn’t he? It doesn’t matter how much you want him, want him, want him.
It’s here in the dark where you nearly lose all sense of yourself before you step away, heavy guilt making a home in the pit of your stomach. What the hell are you doing, acting like such a creep? Returning to your cot, back facing Otoya, you fail to notice his smile as you finally fall asleep, dreaming of the love you still believe forever unrequited.
