The clock ticked 1AM.

Roughly throwing his jacket across the studio, Lucian let out an atypical, frustrated groan as he ran harsh fingers through his hair, the opposite hand, tightly gripping his hip. The biting words that ripped from his mouth past clenched teeth could have probably cut through an entire crowd of people: it was quite the conference, that meeting. “Fuck you too, management.” Today had started off pretty shitty, first of all: sleep evaded him all throughout the night, enabling adulterated exhaustion to consume his mind, heart, and body as a whole. And what’s more? He had to spend the entire day evaluating and training and choreographing and expending more, more, more time and energy - all to end the night with some useless piece of shit telling him that his input was less than considerable for major upcoming performances.

“The most important person, huh? I’d be lying if I put down any definite names, to be completely honest. But for now, I’ll say that @keosura is one of the people in my life who forces me to really check my decisions and be someone I won’t be disappointed in all the fucking time.”

“Argo Navis; it might as well represent the ship I’m riding on in the journey that is life.”

“Typically that happens when I’m somewhere off, alone - where nobody but myself can know what the fuck is up inside my head.”

lavender mist: where do you find joy in life?

“Joy is too strong of a word for my liking. It’s more accurate for me to describe my... optimism as relief, really. I can always find myself somewhere in lieu of my dances, where I don’t have to think about anything.”

mona lisa: what makes you feel most beautiful?

“I don’t know about beautiful, but being well-dressed is actually pretty crucial, so I guess decking out in some non-fucked gear is nice.”

birth of venus: do you have a favorite myth? if so, what is it?

“Pandora’s box - it’s always been a personal favorite. But if you mean the gods, and such, Norse mythology seems intriguing.”

nighthawks: where do you spend most of your time, outside of school/work and home?

‘You can find me in various dance studios, always traveling around and teaching new choreographer - regardless of whether or not I’m paid to do so. Either that, or I’m at a bar or restaurant, destressing.”

Without knowing, Jaehyun pouts at how Lucian doesn’t seem to catch how oh-so-romantic the walk would be. Well, he should’ve seen it coming. “Whatever suits your fancy, mr. efficient.”

His left eye twitched, mind questioning whether or not had he spoke defensively earlier. Because to be honest, while he could’ve sworn his stuff is guaranteed poison free, he couldn’t prove his worth of the head chef title either. Especially not with the annoying smirk and confidence. “Your slytherin is showing. And what did I say about teasing? Geez,” a hint of embarrassment present when he mumbled a protest. It made him soft, his supposedly-tough-image hates it.

Jaehyun who was gazing at the scenery, with head on the clouds planning what to cook (seriously), now turned his head to face Lucian who literally shooed him just now. “I took the initiative to match your tired ass yet this is what I get? Thanks man, I’ll take this into account next time I’m doing good deeds.” he stated dramatically, putting a hand over his heart for emphasis. “Do as you wish though. Here’s the key.” he handed it over rather easily. Not long, the taxi reached its first destination. Jaehyun went out and stares at the brunette, giving him a subtle puppy eyes in silence.

The rather downcast look on the other’s face had Lucian taking a metaphorical step back, even though the smirk still lingered on his lips. All right, he considered, I should stop picking on this guy. They were both fucking tired, after all. "Fine, fine. Don't look at me like I've just kicked you. Just drink it off, later."

Antics – he really wished he could say he wasn’t used to all the possible overreactions he could face in a lifetime, but, truth be told, he was. Thus, Jaehyun’s rather biting retorts left him oddly unperturbed, subconsciously treating them as if a trainee had just flung them at him. Work was really just seeping into his everyday attitude, and Lucian was not really about to enjoy that life.

Flickering his gaze down at the offered keys, he merely blinked, slowly, and crossed his arms over his chest. An airy laugh escaped through his nose as he replied, “I didn’t say that with the intent of actually robbing you of your keys.” And seeing him exit the car, it was just really goddamn awkward sitting there without him, so he, too, got out of the taxi, sending the driver on their way.

he smiled softly, a quiet thanks slipping out when lucian offered out his hand and helped him up. his body felt weak and stiff, which wasn’t an uncommon feeling but it was definitely an uncomfy one right now as he tried not to get too light headed or disorientated upon getting up. but stretching out his limbs a little, he sighed softly and turned back to listen in on what was being said to him, nodding along.

“i know.. thank you as well, for doing that. c-choreographer or not, thank you.“ and maybe he said thank you too much, and sorry too often, but it didn’t mean that keo meant it any less. because he did mean it, an awful lot, because it meant too much to him for someone to actually want to put up with him and help him enough like lucian was offering. “i’ll do my best from now on..“

though the praise had keo beaming a little again, smiling finally making its reappearance tiredly. “i still think i did really good on the choreography today–” he got out after a few moments, the teasing but soft tone there once more.

Lucian essentially hated the concept of cute for anybody who he came across at Century – especially for himself. However, at this particular moment, he thought it appropriate to let his mind wander off to just that, cute, in response to Keo’s repetition of gratitude. It did force a small inadvertent sigh from him, though, albeit with a slight smile on his lips. Reminding him of how he didn’t need to thank him would be unfair at this point, since he knew the other was aware of that exact same fact. They were both tired – and exposed, so he could at least let things go for now.

“I know you will, Keo. You always do, anyway, but..” a playful look re-entering his eyes as he glanced over his shoulder, he continued, “you should still work with me to get it down even better for next time.” Lucian fucking knew it was, eh, alright – perhaps good enough to just leave it there. But jokes brought on good moods, and he didn’t plan on killing the vibes now.

Glancing at his wristwatch, he noticed that it was just about time for the closing performance to end; perhaps he could just let the other crash at his place, to save both of them the concern of worrying about each other. “If you want to come over to my apartment and crash, I wouldn’t mind. Maybe it’ll be better if you do, since I can just..” Take care of you properly, for once, he finished, a bit dimly. “- see that your needs are met. You can just sleep, watch movies, or.. whatever else that pleases you.”

A fond look and a hand outstretched, Lucian concluded, “So let’s go. You’ll be alright.”
