So, what is this whole thing about? Well, this basically started from the base idea of Hazbin Hotel, blended with my own design sensibilities along with the idea of "what if heaven punished Lucifer even worse for causing the creation of sin?" Based off of a fanfic.

The general Idea is that Lucifer was cursed to experience the pain of sins that had victims, as the victim in a sort of mental torment way. He's subjected to the pain of people being tortured, murdered, etc. And when it first began, he was relatively able to experience a normal life with the first pain he experienced being the murder of Abel.

Over time, this pain grew as the population did, leaving him in what amounts to a coma for a majority of the year, where he only gets respite for a week. With the fact he was unable to maintain his responsibilities, and with Lilith gone, this left Charlie to take over very early on.

This explores revamped characters, lore, and how the world would be impacted by these changes.

Angel hair and Eden's hair culture.

I think I mentioned before that angels don't usually cut their hair unless it's very specific circumstances.

Time to expand on the hair culture!

These circumstances being that they are a member of a warrior caste, or they have fallen, with the hair being willingly or forcefully cut.

In the case of warriors, it is seen as permissible with the hair being trimmed to better aide in their service, however, warriors with uncut hair are seen as those with high martial prowess-- along with more holy and skilled.

Even being seen as blessed with divine abilities, long hair is usually a signifier of strength or great skill. The hair being a liability in a fight basically telling an opponent that they are so outmatched that a warrior could beat them even with that handicap.

However, with fallen angels, they usually cut their hair as a symbol of defiance of tradition and going against God. Hair and the body are seen as holy gifts and it is seen as an affront and offensive.

Along with this, it represents the severing of your connection to God and your bond. The longer the hair, the closer to God-- the shorter you shear it, the stronger the rejection. Though, if the hair is willingly cut, it is seen as the ultimate form of disrespect.

But, in the case of forceful shearing, they often use sheep shears and many angels go grey from the stress of it. The loss often emotionally devastating as the culture cultivates hair as one of the main pride and joys of an angel, second to the Heavenly Host and God.

Forceful cutting is only done amongst the warrior caste, however, like in the case of Verity.

Though, these standards seem to have loosened over time with the newest generation.

Hair style wise, the most common styles are long braids, pony tails, pony tails with braids woven in. Updoes, and things that generally leave the hair untouched to show off length. It is generally frowned upon to do overly complex styles.

Braids usually represent the chain that ties you to God.

Along with this, hair of angels is what is used to produce veils that castle servants wear, or what high rank angels wear to shield their faces-- but these are only produced from shedded hair via brushing.

I noticed on the pinned post Serathiel doesn’t have a link to her design- are you redoing it? (Again, this is NOT meant to come off as expectant, I’m genuinely just curious. I love her design as is lol. I’ll stop asking about redesigns after this 😅)

To be honest, I am actually debating it lol the problem for me is that I always think of a shiny new idea and then get dissatisfied with previous work so I'll just keep redoing 💀

Especially in the case of Atlas Verse, because I have new lore to work with that ends up shaping the designs! Basically, I end up getting a stronger grasp on how things should look and have to redo anyway for the sake of lore consistancy.

This is the reason I haven't posted, been doing intense research on the lives of medieval women and knights because of the fact Superbia is about at the european medieval ages for progress and culture.

I've got four completely unrelated asks for you!

1. Why does Lilith resent Lucifer? What for? Like, it can emerge in several different ways. Is it for the things that happened at Eden, her current circumstances or something entirely different?

2. Given Satan's perception of the strong and weak, how does he view those above him? The Morningstars, that is. All three of them.

3. Also, for funsies, the Virtues + Lucifer as parents. I get that he loves Charlie and all, but as a parent in general? If they all had kids, I think any 'family reunion' might just become a world ending catastrophe.

4. What's God's opinion on Charlie and her plan on redeeming sinners who deserve it?

Now, into these questions!

1. I would say the resentment Lilith feels for Lucifer was buidling for a long time, and it is sort of the same way some people start feeling when they have to take care of ailing relatives.

She was starting to feel frustrated and burned out while also having a child to care for, and it wasnt the future she thought She would have ended up with.

Especially after she's kept captive in Heaven. She hates how it separated her from her daughter and how she never got to see her grow up while foisting the care of Lucifer on to Charlotte, who should have never had to deal with seeing her father basically being tortured for a crime he committed over 10,000 years ago.

2. They are all men to him. Though he still treats Lucifer more femininely as he got weaker, though, he holds the utmost respect for the royal fam.

However, he views Charlie as far more soft than Lucifer or Lilith and thinks she should be harsher on sinners.

3. oooh boy this is a long one.

Mammon thinks they're awesome and clever!

I'm debating what exactly to make Mammon, not sure if he should be a sort of harpy magpie creature, or more of something that is like a goblin/kobold!

I feel as though the sins are exempt from this.

All the sins are outside of this system to him, because of what the sins are, besides Lucifer, they are inherently inhuman and genderless beings but prefer to take on certain forms with some willingness to change based on what aspects of their domain they are portraying in the moment.

This also seems to function in the way that any person he deems "strong" are men. This includes, mothers, pregnant women, vengeful women, warrior caste women, etc.

this whole, if you are weak, you are a woman thing seems to only really apply to humans and sinners because he got it from humans while the societies of angels and demons are more loose with who gets power.

In Hell, hellspawned culture tends to be more matriarchal and egalitarian, while in heaven they have strict dominance hierarchies based on level of power at creation with no strict gender specifications.

So, because of this, in his own ring, he views women as the more dominant sex. While with angels, he has no idea how to catagorize them.

It's overly complex and contradictory sometimes, but to sum up, his perception is based on dominant cultural structures, if these structures would change, his views would as well. If there is no dominant sex, he kinda has no idea what to do with it.

Updated Verity's armor and spear!

Anyway, do Charlotte and Verity have a label for their relationship(i.e., girlfriends, wives)? Who fell first? Would they want to have children? How do they feel about PDA?

I would say they call each other their "partner"!

Between the two Verity fell first and as for children, I do think Charlie would want two! Though, they would have to use blood magic as Verity is sterile.

I don't think they engage much in PDA, and would rather keep that for private, though they will hold hands or press their foreheads together.

Seems like Viv's only interested in making them bi and pan, which is boring 😴

Yeah, she kinda has a problem of making everyone pan, bi, gay or straight, with no real variation and just one asexual for flavor.

Okay! so, this is what i have so far?

⟡ Lucifer is pansexual/demi-sexual and demi-romantic. His attraction is mainly reliant on how capable and intelligent someone is. I would say that he is a demi-boy? He doesn't really care about gender, but identifies personally as male, even if he is called "beautiful" instead of handsome (bishounen Lucifer p-much).

⟡ Leviathan is Abrosexual and Frayromantic. They are the type of person where when they get what they desired, they no longer feel that want. They are "mirrorgender" under the genderfluid umbrella and mirror the gender of the person that they are engaged with, however, they are fem as a baseline which would be "Mirrorfem."

⟡ Satan is male and straight, but with the cavate that he views everyone that isn't him as a woman. As well as this, he doesn't really experience desire for the sake of it, but to completely subjugate and humiliate. He views himself as fully male as his only exposure to humanity was through Cain and Abel. (Tdlr: Satan is the Yujiro Hanma of Atlasverse). So straight he loops around to being bi.

⟡ Belphegor is asexual and aromantic. She is also female aligned, maybe Lunarian? She is non-binary, but has a connection to femininity. She feels as though romance and sex are way to much effort and has no interest.

⟡ Mammon is poly, pansexual and aromantic. He wants all the partners. He collects partners like someone collects jewels, mainly because they are pretty, but he feels no real romantic love for them. He feels affection, but like one feels affection for a beloved collection. He identifies as a man, but is a xenopronoun/label collector even if he does not personally identify with them.

⟡ Beelzebub poly, Omnisexual and Omniromantic Aromatic. She hoards lovers and doesn't really feel a connection to any of them, moreso that they are just a tool for experiences. Female connected, but like how in the queen of a hive is female.

Along with this, I'm pretty sure my Alastor grew up on a farm and fought in WWI when he was in his early 20s. So, this man knows how to fight and has knowledge of guns. Unfortunately, his vision wasn't terrible enough to avoid combat, but he ended up more in radio signaling and interception.

The dude was a killer and a total nutcase, of course he has psycho strength too... Hell, I'm not going to lie, I think Alastor is physically stronger than Vox and could probably kill his ass easily.

Also, Alastor time line of life! 1895 - Birth (October 27th, 1895) Alastor was born on a rainy October day in New Orleans, Louisiana, before the end of Jim Crow to a black Creole mother and a second generation Irish immigrant. He spent a majority of his childhood avoiding getting beaten and doing work around town like walking dogs, shining shoes, and delivering news papers for pocket money. 1908 - Alastor kills for the first time (13 years old, self defense) Killed another boy named William Miller in the summer. Joseph found out that Alastor was mixed and tried to assault him over it on the way home from school, Alastor retaliated and bashed his head in with a rock. Dumbing the body in a swamp nearby that was down a slight drop. If the alligators got to it, great, if not? Then it would look like he fell from the ledge, cracked his head open and drowned.

His mother and father never found out.

In his childhood, he was taught to speak creole French and learned how to play the piano at his local church.

1914 - WWI Start (19 years old) Alastor lives with his mother, and father, not yet old enough to be drafted. He works at his local diner to help provide for his family. 1916 - WWI Continues (21 years old) Alastor is drafted into WWI and put through basic training, taught radio signaling and interception due to his poor vision. Unfortunately, it wasn't bad enough for him to be rejected, but had him serve mainly physical labor positions, and away from the front-- This is due to them finding out about his mixed race heritage through family records. 1918 - The Meuse-Argonne Offensive (23 years old) Alastor is transferred to the 325th Field Signal Battalion in France. His primary job being running lines before being moved to The Radio Company to replace a fallen service member. He killed two people on the front. What he saw during the war acting as a key motivator for his later murders.

1919 - Alastor returns from the warfront (24 Years old) February 1919, he is sent from France to Camp Upton, New York, and discharged from there and travels home only to find that his mother had died, his father claiming that it was Yellow Fever. He killed his father the same year on a hunting trip in the fall, shooting him in the head when the man confessed to the murder whilst drunk.

He moved out of his family home shortly after and settled closer to the bayou, only taking his father's guns, and everything of his mother's he could get his hands on. 1920 - Alastor is scouted for a radio host position (25 years old) He takes part in amateur contest and caught the eye of some radio station managers, being offered a position for weekly pay-- ending up being actually very good at the job and becoming a well known figure. His status of being passé blanc (White passing), netting him the position that he would have never been offered if that wasn't the case.

1921 - Alastor starts Killing (26 years old) Over the span of his life between now and his death, Alastor has killed around 28 people-- usually aiming for what he deems the "scum of the earth," People like racists, pedophiles, rapists and abusers. He gained a name as the Vieux Carré Butcher, intentionally leaving the bodies to be found, chopped up with their various sins carved into the flesh-- the things he's seen in the war releasing his much darker appetites.

In spite of him leaving the evidence, he was somehow never caught. Though, he made sure to target both black and white victims so as not to expose a bias. However, he did only target men. Along with this, he also reported on his own crimes as the station he worked for assigned him the stories when he suggested it.

Throughout his life he also began to visit black and tan clubs, spending his free time dancing, playing for audiences and singers, and learning new instruments along the way. During this time, he also used this clubs to find victims, primarily in the men "slumming" it with the "colored folk." The men he mainly netted in this were usually closeted gay and older, so he lowkey looked homophobic doing this.

1934 - Death (39 years old) The day of his death was early November, rut and hunting season for deer, raining like the day he was born. He was caught hiding a body, was chased down by dogs and shot in the chest five times by a hunter.

Soul Brands

Made the brands for Valentino, Velvette and Vox!

These brands are placed when someone signs a soul contact with another demon. These are only able to be placed on humans/sinners as only humans have souls.

They also glow when activated, the color unique to the demon. The left being the inert, inactivated state. They also glow when commands are issued and sort of act like a geas.

Along with this, each overlord has a preference for where their marks are placed on the body

Alastor tends to prefer collar bones, front below pecs and on the upper back because his is quite large. As well, he prefers places that the marked can more easily hide.

Valentino is a trashy hoe and likes on the breasts, side ribs, womb tattoos and tramp stamps. His is also quite large and he likes putting his name on things.

Vox goes for high visibility, outer calf, top of the forearms outer bicep nape of the neck, middle back, forehead and chest. His can vary is size, though he usually goes for one that is the size of the palm.

Velvette doesn't really care too much, but she does go for places that are a little easier to hide. Shoulder, thighs, back calves, hips, back forearms and back biceps. She goes a little smaller than palm sized.

These brands can also manifest chains that an owner can use to yank or drag the contracted around. These sprout from the brand and these chains look unique to the contractor.

Uses Anthony, and Angie after, mostly to separate himself from his previous lifestyle as Angel Dust was the show name that Valentino made him use

And yes, Alastor is the one that got Anthony the new outfit. Mainly a suit with some input from Angie.

as you can see, his soul contract brand had changed appearance and location with contractors having a brand unique to them-- this brand also glows with use of soul chains.

Alastor also taught Angie how to use a gun, considering they didn't know how to shoot one before and had very little know how in self defense. As well as this, under Alastor, Angie had the gaps in their education filled.

Alastor may be an asshole, but he's not going to leave the newest member of his team dumb and defenseless.
