It  had  been  some  time  since  someone  took  the  time  to  point  out  the  scars  on  his  face  ,  or  his  hands.  Or  his  anywhere  ,  really.  Thurma  had  kissed  them  on  occasion  (  after  precautions  ,  visits  to  the  Pool  of  Tears  ,  and  the  like  )  but  never  took  the  time  to  point  them  out  as  the  acolytes  once  had.  He  had  been  called  mad  before  ⸺   been  told  there  was  something  wrong  with  his  head  since  the  pox  had  touched  him.   

After  being  given  the  title  Lightborn  ,  those  things  weren’t  a  concern.  Or  ,  at  least  that  wasn’t  what  he  was  recognized  for  anymore.  He  was  recognized  for  having  part  of  the  Crystal  inside  of  him  ,  doing  deeds  that  he  wholly  wasn’t  responsible  for.  He  was  considered  something  greater  than  what  his  appearance  reflected  ,  and  there  were  times  he  still  looked  at  his  reflection  and  saw  something  ugly.
