they're still establishing all the characters backstories / strengthening their reasons to join luffy but MAAANNN they're doing such a good job with that. it's a little comedic to me that they keep knocking luffy out for fights so the others can shine but honestly that probably is the best move they can do ??? also im like what 3% into the story so obv there wont be huge stakes in terms of character deaths BUT WOW THEY DO A REALLY GOOD JOB AT STILL MAKING THESE FIGHTS SEEM LIKE AN ACTUAL STRUGGLE rubber son aside the amount of beatings sanji usopp and esp zoro have endured by now is crazy (also zoro still being injured during the octo-fishman fight from the previous part is very cool to me im really glad they didnt just forget about that. it makes these plots feel more real and connected in their world)

also teehee LOW bar but I really like namis character so far she's so interesting, and I'm glad we got to see her whole (first*) arc slowly build up instead of it just happening suddenly (as in, she was always honest about not wanting to stay with them, just not abt the reasons). her stabbing the tattoo out of her arm was really :( great scene great scene
