honestly i’m really looking forward to see more moments of Arthur with the gang, but especially his friendship with Basile (which is not something I’d ever thought I’d say, wow)
the more we get to know about Arthur, the more he is very much the opposite of Basile. Basile is this cheerful doofus who can’t seem to think before he talks but also obviously has a lot of love to give, he’s spontaneous and earnest with his affections. I also feel like he comes from a big, messy and very loving family. Meanwhile Arthur is perpetually guarded, sarcastic, snappy, controlled and self aware, obviously he withholds a lot, in the previous seasons he acts as Basile’s “social consciousness” trying to keep him from embarassing himself, but there are also times when it comes over as too much - for instance during the foyer clip at the end of s3 when Arthur tries to stop Basile from clapping but Basile still does it and then everyone joins and it’s this beautiful rallying moment. So this also makes me understand why Arthur cares for Basile so much and is his hype man and must like spending time with him - from what I can sense from his family they put a lot of pressure on him to fit the mold they have in mind, well his father mostly - so it must be so relaxing to be around Basile. And even though Arthur is, at a glance much ‘cooler’ than Basile I bet he envies and admires Basile a little too, and that Basile’s generous energy is going to be very good for him this season (with bonus cool wacky Basile’s grandpa ?). Anyway I am so ready for this season to unleash the Power of Friendship TM
