There was another broadcast on the local radio station recently. The police department was warning people to stay away from the woods after the recent animal attack. It's been a while since I last heard one… it's kind of nostalgic.

People who have lived here long enough don't need a reminder to stay away from here though. According to the police the bear population is out of control in this region. Not that I've ever seen one. 

But I'm not afraid to be out here. I know what's really killing people isn't an animal... and I’ve read enough books on local folklore to know how to avoid it. Still even if it is dangerous I can’t stay away… it’s the only place in town where I can be as alone as I feel.
