Part four: Signing Off
It's official, as of right now the house is completely empty. Once I finished cleaning and getting everything out I felt happy, I looked around, and the house didn't feel like home, our couch wasn't there, the art wasn't on the walls, even our scent wasn't lingering around.
I'm sorry if you followed this page hoping for a happy ending, but life doesn't always work like this, the movies can't always show happy endings, the hero can't always win. But silver linings are what I thirst for, moments like this are what define character.
Shawna, Duke and myself will continue to grow, our story isn't over, but this chapter is. With every end there is a beginning, just like actions and reactions. I will leave out the gruesome moving details but imagine having to take apart the pool table again, that alone was exhausting.
To keep you in the loop about my family, we are moving back to my moms, for now at least, until We start another housing story, and I think next time We will be more prepared. And if you are wondering what happened to my roommate? Well I forgot to mention I left the back door open one night 🤐 it's okay the cat came back three days later but the cat and him are moving far far away, to a place I couldn't give two shits about.
One tidbit of advice is leave a bit of yourself everywhere you occupy, that house will always have pieces of me, and if I didn't move there I wouldn't have learned everything I did, and that alone Is worth going through hell and back.
Until next time <3 stay classy, and sometimes a little trashy😜
Our home story is coming to an end, but much like climbing a mountain, reaching the top doesn't mean you finished, now you have to climb all the way back down.
Breaking up.... with our home 😭😭😭
You only grow by coming to the end of something and by beggining something else.

Part three: reaction💣
Remember waay back I had mentioned how every action has an equal reaction? Well we're now at the 11 month mark of our lease and our landlord just gave us a Reno eviction notice.... giving us one month to get everything out. For the record getting a renovation eviction means that the landlord wants to do upgrades to the home and can't have you living there, or at least that's the bullshit excuse they use to get rid of tenants.
Now about that reaction, I mean I get it, I moved out young and maybe this is life's way of saying hey kid, slow down... move back to your moms and save, you've done enough growth to understand independence. Who knows, maybe this is a blessing in disguise. I just think the hardest part of this story is the fact shawna, Duke and Myself's home adventure is ending... for now. It's all a lot to take in so I'm going to sign off for now, stay tuned for the finale.
If you look closely in the mirror you can see instant regret on my face🤕

Incase you too have a roommate with a cat that enjoys to pee all over the house... try these tips. Next step leaving the back door open and hoping "Quevo" doesn't come back.

Part two: Snug as a Bug
We have officially made it to our lease half year mark, and on another note I'm officially just shy of a few dishes left undone before I kick my roommate out 😂 Moving out has defiantly been what my life was missing, I now feel a sense of completion in terms of self growth for now at least. Over the past 6 months shawna and I truly have turned a house into a home.
Two weeks after starting our lease we took on the task of painting which is no easy feat. After painting on and off for a week we found the house looking vibrant and our bones frail however, well worth the pain as the new Off white colour really added to the houses complexion.
Let me just start off by saying how fantastic winners and home sense is for first time home starters. We were able to not only find adorable art for our walls but also at an affordable cost.
Shortly after getting the apartment painted and furnished I came across an advertisement on Craigslist about a free pool table. I thought to myself I would be crazy not to snatch up this offer, without a second thought my friend Sebastian and I went over to the guys house with a truck ready to move the table to my back deck. Once we arrived we realized we had no tools and that the pool table was over 10 ft in length... and weighed over 800 pounds. I would like to say I was thankful that the slate table came apart in three pieces but that didn't change the fact each slab was about 300 pounds... so seba and I borrowed some tools and struggled for the next two hours lifting the slate onto his truck and back to my place. We had thought we did the hard part, until we arrived to my apartment and gasped at the fact we now have to lift those slate slabs up my staircase filled with 25 steep steps... "hmm bright idea Ryan" uttered Sebastian multiple times as I recall pausing at every step as we lifted those slabs up. After no joke a risky journey to Coquitlam, I officially have a pool table now on my back deck and it looks awesome as ever.
Besides the awesome decor and pool table one thing that really annoys shawna and I is our roommate... over the past 6 months he has never taken out the garbage once, which happens once a week!! And not to mention he leaves his dishes in his sink for as long as He can. As you could see in my earlier post, he also has an issue with cleaning out the fridge, that alone is a horror story. With duke being the golden child of the house we just found out last week our roommate is getting a cat? He never asked us if that was okay, nor did he consider the fact Duke and the cat might not get along seriously bro, appreciate your consideration... psych.
That ends part two! Stay tuned for more updates peeps.
When you can't decide weather or not to do the dishes or take a nap 😴-🍽🚿???
Didn't know Mold was a yummy ramen topping... shout-out to my roommate for leaving this in our fridge😷

Too relatable... only been 3 months and already can't stand it....
Part one: action
With every action there is an equal reaction, and I acted to move out of my moms house. At the age of 18 most people would call you crazy to move out of your parents house and fall into a lifestyle filled with expenses, responsibility and a crazy schedule, but I welcomed it with open arms.
Before moving out I lived a pretty dysfunctional lifestyle although, my Mom Kelly did her best job to baby me and shelter my young soul from all the bad in our lives, but by doing so she neglected me of self growth, I felt attached to the hip of my mom. One thing she couldn't hide was the fact we lived in a "crack shack" not literally but the place definitely gave off that vibe. My Moms plan of protection worked, until my current girlfriend shawna age 18 at the time, came into my life when I was only 16. She flipped my world upside down.
At 18 Shawna worked two jobs full time, balanced school, along with keeping her youth on the weekends, after all you don't want to grow up too fast. When she met me she stood for no bullshit, she saw potential, but at 16 I didn't know how to clean, cook, or really be independent. Shortly after meeting her we began to date and things moved so quick that once she graduated high school she spent the rest of my high school career at my house moved in, trying her best to detach me and my mother, with my best interests in mind. Once I graduated high school my independence slowly began to increase. Starting with a backpacking trip with Shawna throughout Europe for two months.
The stories I have from that trip alone could become a book... but once back I thirsted for more independence, and shawna thirsted for an addition to our family. On a cold Rainey October day out came our loving little dukie from a trailer, we rescued Duke when he was only 5 weeks old. At that age the puppies are far to young to survive without their mother but dukes mother became aggressive forwards the pups, so it was either death for the small malnourished pup or we get him right then and there, so without hesitation shawna and I became dukes parents that day. My independence was rising each day, I began working full time, taking care of a puppy and working on my cleaning and cooking skills, while maintaining a healthy relationship. Shortly after this me and shawna began looking for an apartment to rent behind my Moms back, and with timing and luck we found our little home along Victoria drive on Craigslist. We quickly jumped on the chance and found ourselves moved in to our new apartment. Now that you are all caught up, Our journey is just getting started, stay tuned for more dukie, shawna myself and I guess our roommate?
