What is Midamfest?
It’s a celebration of the relationship between Michael the archangel and Adam Milligan from the TV show Supernatural!
Adam’s birthday is on September 29, which is also the Feast of Saint Michael (also known as Michaelmas)—the perfect time to celebrate our favorite angel/vessel pair.
There are seven days of prompts, with the last one falling on September 29 itself.
You can make ANYTHING you want for these prompts (art, fic, poetry, mood boards, playlists, gifsets, fanvids, etc.) as long as they are Midam-centric and relate somehow back to the prompt word. There’s no minimum or maximum word count and no sign-ups.
Just tag your submissions with #midamfest2026. If you post your creation on AO3, be sure to add it to the Midamfest 2026 collection.
Do I need to sign up?
Nope! If you want to participate, just post your creation ON or AFTER the assigned day for whichever prompt you were inspired by. There’s no time limit either, so feel free to work on Midamfest prompts after Michaelmas.
Does my fanwork have to highlight a romantic relationship between Michael and Adam?
Nope! It just needs to focus on their relationship. You are certainly welcome to create gen fics/art that focus on a platonic relationship. Or go wild in an AU universe and make them enemies. The possibilities are endless ;)
Does my creation have to be about Adam Milligan and Jake Abel's Michael? What about Ghoul!Adam?
Michael!John, Michael!Dean, Michael!Rowena, and Apocalypse World Michael can all be part of this event. Any Michael in true form or any vessel, even if they weren’t his vessel in canon, is allowed. Alternate universe Adam Milligans (such as Endverse or Huntercorp—possibilities, possibilities) are also permitted. And of course, any other AU scenario is perfectly fine, too!
Fanworks featuring Ghoul!Adam are permitted as well, but I would still prefer the focus to be on the relationship between Michael and the real Adam Milligan. (Ex, a fic about Apocalypse World Michael resurrecting Ghoul Adam so they can take over the world together, while compelling, might not be right for Midamfest lol. Unless the reason AW Michael does it is because he sees the relationship between Adam and Michael 1.0 and it makes him burn with jealousy... you know what, someone should write this actually.)
Is this an all ages event?
Yes! If you are under the age of 18, please keep any fics you write for the fest to a “T” rating or below, and your art non-explicit.
Do I need to create something for every prompt?
Nope! You can do just one prompt, all seven, or any number in between.
How do I browse the creations?
Peruse the #midamfest2026 tag. This account will also reblog every creation. If you see that I’ve missed a post and still haven’t reblogged it after it’s been up for a full day, please ping me @midamfest in the comments!
Can I use AI?
NO. Generative AI usage is not permitted for Midamfest works. I will not be going on any AI witch hunts, but I do expect everyone to engage with these prompts honestly.

I'd like to remind everyone that when talking about a person (or character), it's "person with albinism," not "albino."
I've mentioned before how deeply traumatic that word is for many of us. It carries a stigma that exists just as strongly as it did when we were featured in circus freakshows (which I've seen billboards for in my lifetime), because that's where people know us from and there hasn't been a movement to change that. We're still portrayed in media as freaks and villains, using our appearance to shock you. You're supposed to see us as evil, abusive, manipulative, and never worthy of redemption, because they don't expect for you to see those characters as human. If you can't think of any examples, check out the TV tropes article for Albinos are freaks.
I've experienced endless bullying and harassment, adults calling me disgusting and a freak, physical violence, and had my sunglasses and hat taken on multiple occasions (both are necessary for me to be able to see outside, essentially blinding me and leaving me downtown somewhere). I've been discriminated against so many times I can no longer remember each detail. This is what albino means to me: being subhuman.
I will never see albino as a positive word, even when people mean well. Getting people to care about us is like pulling teeth; I'm not saying this is a slur and you're a bad person if you ever say it. I'm asking for some common respect, and for you to learn about us before you talk about us and make your OCs based on more than just looks.
There's a lot more I could cover but ultimately I'd really like the word albino to fade out of our lexicon. I don't really care what you call animals, although albinistic is the scientific term.
Of course i don't speak for everyone with albinism. For more on that, here's a very short article about our various feelings on the word.
Reminding everyone that OCs with albinism are automatically DSABLED. There is no chance that a person with albinism is not visually impaired/legally blind because of the lack of pigmentation in the eyes. Do not refer to an OC with white hair, pale skin and blue eyes as a pwa. Our existence has been so aestheticised to the point where our disability has become invisible while in reality it couldn't be more apparent. Please do not contribute to this and don't use that label if you are not willing to include visual impairment to your "albino" character in addition to the social stigma that is described above. Sincerely, another person with albinism.
