do ppl actually pay this much?
i'm playing "when life gives you lemons," and i'm continuously shocked by the prices player/MC pays. $1,000 for a week's worth of groceries for 2 people? $3,000 for a birthday party? (especially one for a 6 year old!?)
am i outing myself as a filthy poor or are these prices ridiculous? growing up i helped my family with accounting. for our family of 3 groceries ranged from $200-300. rn i live in a household of 2, and we spend about $400, but i now live comfortably and don't have to budget. (like i'm buying organic cage free eggs, i am not trying to save money AT ALL so $400 feels like an upper limit)
as for birthdays, we never really had parties so i genuinely don't know if $3,000 is fair. we generally had a cake and dinner, but we didn't spend much money on themed decorations or whatever. as a child of a single parent, it's a little crazy to me that a single parent would ball out like this. like yeah, MC makes good money but it seems super irresponsible.😭 and 3k is a lot? i literally just moved and the movers cost just under $2k. a move in my opinion, should cost more than a child's birthday party.
???
am i terribly out of touch? what's going on here?? i literally live in one of the most expensive places to live in the world. (that being said, i'm shocked that in this game a townhouse in the big city is only $180K. why does food cost a gazillion dollars and houses are dirt cheap??)
