Definitely. Kind of like how multiple people like cheese but prefer different types of cheese.

...That seems like a weird analogy to me, but I'm going with it, lol! :D

That's partly why MC's blood is so irresistible to vampires (and supernaturals in general), because it smells tempting in a specific way—you get a hint of that in the way Unit Alpha, and Unit Bravo, comment on the way MC's blood smells to them!

Monday really set the vibe of this week!

I stormed through the writing on Monday, which always feels amazingly good to get that kind of start! But it continued on the rest of the days too!

Even with having to work out a complicated coding situation—I have a new variable specifically for this chapter, but it can interrupt an important variable that was tracking something throughout the book. I needed to figure out how those two were going to interact with each other and all work smoothly so things come out correctly.

And I even managed to figure out that pretty quickly, even though coding is really not my forte, lol!

My focus really has been on the writing because, not only do I LOVE these ending scenes, but there’s a lot of them and there chunky, and I want to get them finished now I’m so close!

Yet that does mean that other things are behind in schedule, so I’m gonna take some time next week to catch up on all of that! (Social media posts, asks, tester chapters, editor edits, etc)

But I’m going to keep on the roll for the rest of this week seeing as it really is rolling, hehe! :D And there’s a major goal I’m hoping to hit, hopefully tomorrow, which I wasn’t expecting!

It's weird to think how long this journey has been—and how much is still to come! Wayhaven is such a part of me now, and I would struggle to live without it!

Say, if Felix has those extra empathic feelers...being surrounded by idiots in love that won't admit shit must drive him crazy, right? 😅

We already see a bit of that when we're doing the love triangle path, iirc, but even just...I don't know, watching Mason try and fail to actually grasp that he's falling for our detective has to get annoying at some point!

I know I'd eventually be standing there, watching them fumble around each other like: You. Idiots. 🫩

F more enjoys it than anything else, hehe! Well, except the love triangle, which they really, really don't like! Being able to feel all that love but also the guilt, denial, pain...that really cuts them, especially as it's happening to people F really cares about!

But M, and A in a way, F enjoys the process of watching them fall deeper and deeper, hehe! :D

What I meant was, will the demo be updated/more chapters added as you continue writing and editing, or will it remain as it is until the full book is released?

The demo is now complete and won't be updated.

But it hopefully won't be too long until you can experience the entire book as I'm currently working on the endings! (There are some hefty epilogues to write after that, but so close now!!)

Yes, there will be. Things definitely can't be ignored so much anymore by the time things in Book Four happen...so Book Five should make for a very interesting time for the love triangle...hehehe! ;D

This week certainly got my brain going! :D

I knew this chapter was obviously gonna be quite a web of variations and choices, as it’s bringing together so many things that happened during the story, as well as branching depending on other choices.

But one of the scenes (well, two, as it differs depending on a choice) involves Rebecca, so I definitely don’t want to be making any assumptions on the character’s feelings during this one!

I mean, I can use the variables that track how your MC is currently feeling about their relationship with Rebecca, which helps add depth to the choices picked, but people react all kinds of ways in situations, so yeah…there’s been a lot of choice sets in quick succession for this one to make sure the MC can react as they want in the moment!

After finishing that doozy of a scene, I moved straight onto the next and was getting on fantastic! Right until my computer froze and freaked out on me mid-sentence. I was panicking because I thought I was gonna lose all my morning’s work…then I realized I also hadn’t back up my writing from the previous evening either!

Thankfully, it was only a blip for minute! I haven’t felt so relieved in agggges, lol! :D

But it certainly taught me (again) a lesson in having a much more regular back-up system!

By the time I’ve finished up today and the weekend, it should finally mean that next week I’ll be past this section that’s been holding me up more than expected and can finally look at the excitement of some action, hehe! :D

Sorry if this has been asked before but would Rook approve of the RO’s had he been alive? Who would be his first choice as a love interest for his child?

Rook would totally approve, though wouldn't say that quite like, well, that, lol! He wouldn't want MC to think that they need his approval to do anything! (Though I imagine he'd have some opinions on Bobby if an ex...lol!)

His first choice would be whoever would make the MC happy! :D

Just curious! I love as much angst as possible, so I usually play with a strained Rebecca relationship lol

In the original novel, the plan was to have the relationship with Rebecca be strained. Not to the extreme characters can have in the series, where there's not really a relationship at all. It was more strained but edging into fixing things...well, at least to a point.

You need to have a character who isn't already in a romance in order to romance Li-Sar, which is why I made a chunkier, more detailed character creator for this book, as it would be a lot to ask people to go through all three previous books to just romance Li-Sar, hehe! :D

Even though we all talk about A being so, so.... difficult, and being frustrated at them because frankly the mixed signals of the radio are making us run in circles through a burning forest, I really appreciate that there is such a slow burn.

As much as I hate to admit, I love slow burns and longing in romance. Besides it matches my reality... I am very much like A in the romantic field and on top of it I have a very uhh, prickly personality (terrible combination😭) so I like that I can have slower moments of buildup instead of fast, easy coming attraction and relationships. And the fact we can be so blatantly annoyed at A makes it as if A was literally made for me.

Thanks for writting so many diferent dynamics for different readers. It is trully validating.

First off, your English is incredible! Please don't ever apologise for it! I am grateful to you for making the effort so as we can communicate as my ability at languages is far less than my love of them!

A's romance is the longest slow burn I have ever written, that's for sure, lol! As much as I do love a slow burn, I am also an impatient person, so the combination is...an issue at times, hehe! :D

But A is centuries old and has been holding onto a lot of pain in that time. It has really affected their entire being. That can't be gotten past in a few months...even though you definitely can see those walls breaking. Book Four they really, really are struggling not to just be with the MC as they want.

Oh my word! I loved Fighting Fantasy books back in the old days!! My passion for interactive stories started young, hehe! :D

I think the idea of an interactive story might blow N's mind a little. That idea of a story not being set and changed by the reader. They've had centuries of linear stories (wihch they love), so it might take a bit to get their head around that.

But being part of a narrative? Oh yeah, I think they would come to love it very quickly! :D

The Warehouse has soooo many rooms, it likely has multiple bathrooms, hehe!

And the MC does have an en-suite bathroom in their bedroom at the Warehouse too!

I don't know where I am going with this. I'm just very invested and I have a blast when she reads it for me, despite being famously allergic to anything remotely similar to this genre of stuff, so yeah, no question, Im just glad it exists and you're writing it. Kthxbye

Writing this many variables and details so that we each can have our own unique playthrough is genuinely amazing work and I wanted to tell you that it is awfully impressive because no matter how many times I replay, I always find a rare little gem somewhere that might be somebody else's normal. So sincerely, I don't think you know how impressive this is and how much we all appreciate you for sharing something so massive with us.

The amount of different branches you put in it? I could never, I'd go insane with how many things there is to write and all the tiny details that changes for even just one single page, like... You are so incredible for that. I even get overwhelmed just by trying to combine all the variables I want to try for one route (and this is coming from someone who only ever plays with one single OC with a set personality, one that I use for each route I can take in each LI's route, so... I didn't even try creating another OC yet.)

Also, not only you work on this massive series, but you also feed us so many other things on the side and take the time to answer our questions. Although what I appreciate the most is your updates. It makes the wait for the next book go by so much faster than if you'd leave us in the dark, so thank you for those, genuinely it helps a LOT, at least for me. You are really a talented person, the replayability in Wayhaven is... astronomical. You have as many choices as possible for each personality and Wayhaven is one of the best things in my life, something I know will stay with me for a long time coming.

So thank you. Not only for sharing your story with us, but also for all the work you do for us to escape the world for a little while with this wonderful world and characters. It helps a lot of people, including me. You are an impressive human being.

Well, I'm gonna level with you...this actually made me cry! Like, totally good crying! :D

I do sometimes wonder if I go OTT with it all, but then it's messages likes this that remind me that it's totally worth that extra choice set, or variation, or branch, or even line switch based on personality after already a very long scene!

Pouring every part of me into this is the only way I can do this, and to know that people are seeing that and enjoying it so much...I can't even begin to tell you what reading this means to me. To know that it's appreciated, for sure, but more that it really does make a difference to your game and character's story!

It was a much more stable week this week! It felt good to really get things checked off!

At the start of the week, I worked on asks and social media, which was a really nice reset for my brain :D

Then it was diving back into the writing. It’s been a couple of hefty-to-write scenes this week, as they involve the MC and all of Unit Bravo, plus lots of choice sets (things are getting emotional in unexpected ways for the MC—Li-Sar is enjoying twisting the knife) which means they take a super long time to write as usually the love interest or BFF has a reaction to each choice the MC can make.

It’s been so much fun bringing it all together though! As much as endings are always difficult to write and make sure they’re satisfying enough, it really gets me pumped to bring all the things throughout the story to a dramatic head, hehe!

Over the weekend and next week, I’ll be continuing on with getting this one specific scene finished, as well as working on the tester feedback and getting the next chunk of chapters over to them!
