The last seven years of my life (yes, I have been keeping count) have been like watching a car crash in slow motion. Ok, maybe that is a little over dramatic but you get the point. These “accidents” certainly left me fatally wounded in the sense of picking up the scattered pieces and taking that daring drive down lover’s lane just to be rear-ended once again. Continuously repeating this same love cycle. I allowed this to happen for 4 years with both "Situationships"..

If you know me then you should know I'm reserved when it comes to a man honey. I'm timid and my nerves get the best of me. I wasn't a friendly child. I was reserved and mostly kept to myself. My mom tells me she noticed a sea change in me after I've grown up. But I guess that's natural. Your surroundings, friends, college, etc. do make a lot of difference to your personality. So for me to grow out of that and change made a difference. It matters not how many friends or people I may know and vice Versa.

A little back history......Grew up in a house full of men besides my mom. Who was solid as a ROCK. Watching her get handed trials and tribulations and she come out with ZERO scratches? I was amazed. Listening to her argue with different men year after year. Back then i was annoyed as hell and thought she was just bitching, but now that im older it makes sense. It's almost like she would coach me to steer clear of bullshit. She made me this strong, wise, stubborn woman i am today. I was raised to be an independent woman, not the victim of anything. For that reason alone, it automatically made it harder for a man to approach me because i was already hip to the game.

So when in “situationships” I’m very lost. I try to be patient because i don’t want things to seem rushed but after a while it becomes problematic. I never understood why men feel they can put dibs on you while they’re out doing God knows what being secretive. It seems like i can never get off this roller coaster of love because there comes a point in time when I’m maxed out. I believe 4 years is a long enough time to realize you want to be with someone. Lately, I’ve been running into the same niggas. Who “want everything to be ready” “want to be prepared” “want to have shit set in life”.....i understand that and all BUT that’s what a woman is for. If you’re loving someone and constantly “missing them”. Do them a favor and back off.

A woman that’s sure of herself and confident will NOT wait on you to get your shit together, instead she grows WITH you. Gets the bag WITH you, builds WITH YOU. No titles, 4 years, no ring? She doesn’t have time to make meaningless connections that go nowhere. She’s trying to find an equal that will learn to accept her for what she’s worth and ADD value to her life not stress. A man with no confidence, drive, ambition, security, common sense is like a car with no wheels you can’t go ANYWHERE. Do you think Michelle Obama waited for Obama to gain success and become president before marriage? HELL NO. She built that man up. She was his security, she was HIS CONFIDENCE, she made HIM crave that drive. She made him mind.. You being in her life with none of those tools makes it worse for the NEXT nigga. This continues the cycle of situationships....which brings you to back to square one....
