Ugggh YES. Especially with Merlin. I've said it before and I say it again, Merlin definitely reminded him of Zel when he was a kid. Even look-wise she's kinda similar. And then there's the fact that she was probably the first person he got to be a big brother to, and not screw it up (although he did go and die on her)

To be honest I think Meliodas saw a lot of himself in her to. As did Elizabeth probably. Cause let face it the holy war family (Meliodas, Elizabeth and Merlin) is just a trio of kids raised as weapons/tools for their parents' goals/desires that came together and became a family (and wanted to give each other something better). And that's just so tragic and amazing.

Do not even get me started on this. So much wasted potential in this show. And I mean considering one of the core aspects of the show is 7 FRIENDS being brought together by fate, and also how many fucking siblings there actually are in this show (I mean just among the sins more than half of them have or have had siblinga) you'd think they'd get more focus/development.

Meliodas and Merlin had the potential of being one of the best friendships ever. And I will never shut up about that. They have literally known each other for 3,000 years! He saved her as a kid and then they ended up stick together? She is repeatedly shown to be the only character who knows his past, all his secrets and understands him/his motivations. She sees all of him and is still supporting him, even after 3 millennia, even when he doesn't want her to.

And then it didn't happen. Like at all. I kept thinking "just get it over with" but there was nothing! And I don't remember exactly when, but eventually I realized that wasn't going to happen at all, because in Erza's eyes, the moment Lucy joined Fairy Tail, she already belonged there. The only one doubting her place and value to the team and the guild... was Lucy herself.
