Guys! I left for the Christmas holidays. Happy New Year, everyone! Peace and goodness :) Do not be bored,Ā Iāll be back soon :) (261219)
Hey guys! I use this blog both for study posts and health/wellness posts.Ā
Even though we want to work hard and study, itās good to have breaks. I just finished the show Peaky Blinders and I highly recommend it to people who like crime TV shows (with a bonus of British accents).Ā
The show is set in Birmingham, after The Great War, following along the main lead character, Thomas Shelby and his brothers. Thomas runs the gangĀ āThe Peaky Blindersā and is attempting to legalize his business. Iām not sure what more I can say without spoiling it, but hey, check it out!

Ok so this isnāt from today but I spent almost all day in the car so I donāt really have anything new as of now. These pictures are from a week or two ago when I went to the CUTEST used bookstore/ tearoom in my life oh my goodness. It was magical, I wish there was one like it near where I live, but alas. I ended up getting a memoir written by the daughter of the btk killer but I havenāt started it yet. Anyways if youāre reading this have a lovely day, and Iām so proud of you and everything youāve accomplished :)
Hey guys, Iām trying to get back into tumblr and was hoping to turn this into a studyblr/wellness blog, if anyone has any tips, let me know :)
Things I Do At The Start Of Every Month
⢠Upload and delete photos from myĀ phone. Google Photos has become my best friend, so once a month I make sure to upload all my recent photos to it, and then delete (most of) them from my phone to free up space.Ā ā¢Figure out monthly finances and budget. I try to determine what the month should like for me money wise. Where do I have money coming in? Where is money most likely going to go? Whatās the max I want to spend in each area? Sometimes it really helps, other times it doesnāt.Ā Ā ā¢Review + rearrange calender. I pull up Google Calendar, my dry erase board and planner and make sure everything is the same in each. I add events, rearrange them, and delete others.Ā ā¢Make plans w/ friends and family. This isnāt something I do all the time, but if I really want to go out to eat or do something special with my mum or a sibling Iāll let them know and weāll try to set a date to do so.Ā ā¢Schedule appointments. More like make a list of things I need to schedule in the upcoming days/week. ā¢Make/Buy birthday/holiday cards. I usually handmake my cards so having them premade is less stressful than waiting the day before (or day of) to try and draw out something spectacular.Ā ā¢Plan off/zero/me days.Ā It doesnāt matter what you call it. Sometimes you just need to make sure you have a day or two set to just focus on you. ā¢Wash and clean car. I donāt own a car but I try to make sure the one I primarily ride in is fairly clean inside in general.Ā Ā ā¢Change bedding. Actually, I do this more often now. I change myĀ bedding twice a month and wash my pillowcases once a week.Ā ā¢Essentials shopping trip. If Iām in need of a face cleanser, lotion, toothpaste, I plan to go get it.Ā ā¢Deep clean my bedroom/Reorganise myĀ spaces. Thatās the only area I really have to clean. Iāll sweep/mop the floor. Dust everything down. Clean my mirrors. ReorganiseĀ my shelves, dresser top, and closet. ā¢Write down broad goals and to-dos. Basically, a rough idea of what I hope to accomplish and things that have to get done over the next few weeks. ā¢Wash makeup brushes/give my makeup a good wipe down. Have no fear, I wash my makeup brushes at least once a week and spray them down with my daily brush cleaner, but sometimes I get lazy and leave the ones I donāt use that often dirty. Therefore, Iāll go ahead and wash them and really clean off/disinfect my palettes, lipglosses, foundation etcĀ ā¢Pick two books to read this month. This is just from one of my yearly goals to read a new book every two months. Iāve been trying to choose one on my reading list and aĀ āself-helpā type book.
i posted a video on how i take notes on my ipad using goodnotes! let me know what you think :)
ps. im hosting a giveaway with goodnotes for 5 free app downloads - more details in the video :)
I havent seen anyone talk about this yet so im making a post.Ā
So lets say youāre researching something for a paper (or just for fun) and the research paper you want to read is behind a paywall, or the site makes you create an account first, or makes you pay to download, or limits you to only 5 free articles, or otherwise makes it difficult for you to read what you want.
do not fear! copy the link to the article
go to sci-hub.seĀ Ā Ā Ā Ā (the url is always changing so its best to check out whereisscihub.now.shĀ to find what the current url is)
slap the article link in there
bam! free access!Ā

We Found the Universeās First Type of Molecule
For decades, astronomers searched the cosmos for what is thought to be the first kind of molecule to have formed after the Big Bang. Now, it has finally been found.Ā The molecule is called helium hydride. Itās made of a combination of hydrogen and helium. Astronomers think the molecule appeared more than 13 billion years ago and was the beginning step in the evolution of the universe. Only a few kinds of atoms existed when the universe was very young. Over time, the universe transformed from a primordial soup of simple molecules to the complex place it is today ā filled with a seemingly infinite number of planets, stars and galaxies. Using SOFIA, the worldās largest airborne observatory, scientists detected newly formed helium hydride in a planetary nebula 3,000 light-years away. It was the first ever detection of the molecule in the modern universe. Learn more about the discovery:
Helium hydride is created when hydrogen and helium combine.Ā
Since the 1970s, scientists thought planetary nebula NGC 7027āa giant cloud of gas and dust in the constellation Cygnusāhad the right environment for helium hydride to exist.Ā
But space telescopes could not pick out its chemical signal from a medley of molecules.Ā
Enter SOFIA, the worldās largest flying observatory!Ā
By pointing the aircraftās 106-inch telescope at the planetary nebula and using a tool that works like a radio receiver to tune in to the āfrequencyā of helium hydride, similar to tuning a radio to a favorite stationā¦
ā¦the moleculeās chemical signal came through loud and clear, bringing a decades-long search to a happy end.
The discovery serves as proof that helium hydride can, in fact, exist in space. This confirms a key part of our basic understanding of the chemistry of the early universe. SOFIA is a modified Boeing 747SP aircraft that allows astronomers to study the solar system and beyond in ways that are not possible with ground-based telescopes. Find out more about the mission atĀ www.nasa.gov/SOFIA

Things I Forgot/ Nearly Forgot to Bring to College
I thought I packed everything I would need and more, but hereās a list of items I forgot, or nearly forgot, and also some things worth mentioning!
Sponges: Bring at least one! You canāt keep rinsing your tupperware with water. It gets greasy!
Plates:Ā I brought a mug, tupperware, and utensils but no plates. Granted, I could use my tupperware to eat things, but a plate wouldāve come in handy. I mean, I had to smoosh my pizza into my tupperware container just to microwave it.
Face Towels:Ā I figured I would just bring my regular shower towel to wash my face in the morning. But itās actually a lot easier to have those small face towels. All you bring in the bathroom in the morning, at least for me, is a toothbrush, toothpaste, and face towel (and cleanser).
Tablet:Ā I did not think I would need my tablet, since I use my phone and laptop regularly and at home, I used my tablet for fun. But for my classes that have heavy reading, it would be really convenient to bring a tablet and not a laptop to class!Ā
Keep reading

college and dorm life hacks
i made a post like this a while ago, but i didnāt write everything i planned.
As the months went on, I found more hacks and tricks to share with you for those of you currently going to the university and living in a dorm, an experience that can be very funny but also very stressful.Ā
Sooo, here are my life hacks:
sort out your style before you go to university, especially if you are going to live hourS away from home. most of the times dorm rooms donāt have enough extend for all your stuff, and if you bring everything (and most importantly clothes and accessories youāll never use), your room will look messy even when itās tidy.
have 5 or more basic outfits, for when youāre in a hurry and you didnāt plan your outfits the night before. youāll save sooo much time.
have aĀ āstudy/stay at home outfitā, which CANNOT AND MUST NOT be your pj. As soon as you get home, put those on and save the life of your cute outfit, which you can wear moe often. your study outfit will trick your brain into studying as soon as you put it on.
have a skincare routine written down and hung beside your toiletries. STICK TO IT.
same for a cleaning/tidying routine. you want your face to be healthy and your room ready for guests anytime.
keep at least 3-4 bottles of water in your room, and avoid juices and sodas.
clean your stained clothes as soon as you stain them and youāll save their life (and your bank account). bleach can bring back to life white clothes (it makes them brighter).
keep an emergency kit in a pochette and carry it in your purse everywhere you go. you can throw in it everything youād normally carry (medicines, hand sanitizer, make up and pads/tampons for the ladies) so you donāt have to worry about forgetting something you really need during the day.
little bottles/tumblers are to be carried by hand. you donāt want that extra weight on your back.
know which study spot/place is the most productive for you and stick to it during those finals.
DONāT MIX your clothes when youāre washing them just because the soap youāre using is claiming to prevent your black tee toĀ ābleedā on your white blouse. if you have little time or money to waste on laundry, go for low temperatures (30° Celsius or even COLD WATER) and use those laundry sheets that absorbe bleeding colours (that thing works AF)
WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING. seriously. from your groceries to that funny thing your roommate said to a book your professor recommended.
if you are studying languages (like me), make an effort to learn a little vocabulary every night, like 15 new words per day. turn it into a habit and when it will come the time for the lang exam you wonāt be in trouble because of the lexicon.
ok, these are my hacks. i stick to most of them and, seriously, they have made my life much easier and more focused on the lectures and the workload.
hope you read everything and found something really useful, and feel free to add yours too!!!
kisses xoxo
Hey guys! Itās back to school time, which for a lot of us also means moving back into dorm rooms. Hereās a list of everything Iām bringing with me this year, to give you an idea of what you need!Ā
bedding
A lightweight quilt (I can add blankets in the winter, without having to burn up in the summer)
Two sets of twin XL sheets (one nicer set, and a $5 set for laundry day)
A comfy mattress pad. Dorm beds are uncomfortable on their own!
Two blankets (one for regular bed use, the other as an extra or for studying on the quad)
Two normal pillows (the same ones I use every night at home)
Four throw pillows (It seems like a lot, but I do a lot of studying/watching TV from bed, and they make that way easy + comfier.)
A body pillow, so Iām not rolling into the wall all the time
bath
A robeĀ
A sturdy shower caddy (I got a cheap one the first year, and had to replace it by fall break. shampoo bottles are heavy!)
Three towels + 10 wash cloths (they do double duty as dust rags, drying cloths, you name it)
All my usual soaps/shampoos/toiletriesĀ
clothes
Shirts: I bring mostly plain t shirts/tank tops that can work with lots of outfits, then all the nicerĀ ācuteā shirts I have (which isnāt a lot), and then a handful of graphic t shirts. Youāll end up with a lot of free shirts, so go easy on that type.Ā
Pants: Five pairs of jeans (three different shades of blue denim, two black); four pairs of shorts; all the athletic shorts I own, because those are the best for really hot days/lazy days/every day, really.Ā
Dresses: One niceĀ āinterviewā dress and three casual for class/church/hanging out. Youāll need more if you plan on rushing a sorority or working in an office with a dress code.Ā
Pajamas: three sleep shirts (youāll acquire more, I promise), three pairs of sleep shorts, and two pairs long pajama pants.
Jackets: a hoodie, a denim jacket, a Patagonia pullover for now. After fall break, Iāll bring a light trench coat, and a heavier cold weather coat.Ā
Shoes: comfort is key! Iām packing Chaco sandals and Vans for wearing to class, a pair of nicer sandals and heels for when I want to look cute.
Rain boots and a rain coat are a life saver. I rarely use them at home, but you donāt really have the option to stay out of the rain at school.Ā
Definitely keep in mind your lifestyle when packing clothes! Bring what you normally wear and are comfortable in.
Also, plan on leaving clothes to bring back after break. Space is tight, so you donāt want all your winter coats in August if you can help it! Although, keep a couple out of season clothes on hand in case you get an early cold snap, or a freak warm day in February.Ā
study
Desk lamp
Notebooks/paper/whatever you need for clas
Bulletin board/white board
Wall calendar
Cups for pens, drawer organizers, etc
Tape ā scotch and duct
Sticky notes, push pins, etc ā typical desk things
storage
Ikea rolling cart (you know the one)
Plastic three-drawer organizer
Tupperware bins
Two smallish trunks (from TJ Maxx)
All go under my bed!
cleaning
Clorox wipes
Lysol (for when your roommates sick and you have three tests next week and have no time to sneeze)
Dust pan and broom
Dish soap + sponge
Tide pods (so much easier than lugging a huge bottle up the stairs)
Laundry hamper (small, or else youāll put off doing laundry until you have zero clothes left)
Laundry bag/basket
misc.
Floor lamp (dorm lighting is depressing)
Rug (cold floors!)
Pictures and posters
A futon, fridge, coffee maker, TV ā if you and your roommates decide you need them. Split up who brings what!
Board games and a deck of cards
Your favorite movies
Leave the books at home! You wonāt have time to read them, and theyāll just end up collecting dust.Ā
My school allows you to check out things like pots and pans, vacuums, and even movies. Find out if your school does this and you may be able to knock some items off your list!
Of course, everyone is different and every school is different. Definitely do some research on your specific school and building, because what works for me might not be exactly what you need.
