Tsuyu Asui: *exists* Will Vandom, probably: Fucking superb you funky little frog
I actually made my own fan art and headcanon post about these two, it`s so fun to see someone else thought about it too.
When the “Symbol of Peace” is a Warrior
Remember that time Gandhi punched a man into the stratosphere? Or when Nelson Mandela dropped the atom bomb? While such events might make for a good game of Civilization VI, the societal and cultural implications would be rather bleak.
That’s the world of Boku no Hero Academia. A world where peace is assured, not by treaties and accords, but by the threat of overwhelming force. The threat of All Might bearing down upon you with all his might.
The surface level problem with this arrangement is not so much an issue for the majority of law-abiding citizens. At least, it wouldn’t be if not for the way this society pushes people toward villainy (which I wrote about here).
The deeper issue here, is the idolization of violence.
Pictured above are 4 of the top 10 ranked heroes in Japan. There are 2 others, but they don’t support my claim, and the remaining 4 are unknown.
All Might - OFA: punches so hard the sheer pressure changes the weather Endeavour - Hell Flame: kills it with fire Ryukyu - Dragon Form: claws, fangs, probably eats livestock whole Edgeshot - Foldabody: makes body thin as a razor, punches at speed of sound
Ignore the Shigarakis and All For Ones of the world, they are few and far between. Consider the more innocuous criminal, like a shoplifter. What strategies would any of these heroes employ in that case? Step 1, offer chance to surrender. Step 2, murder? These heroes do not have a non-lethal option.
And that’s a real problem. Not just for these heroes, but for the society that elevated them to the top 10, rankings which account for popularity more than anything else.
Every child dreams of being All Might. Everyone looks up to this incredible powerhouse. The term “Hero” was meant to mean “one who saves others,” but has twisted to mean only “one who fights villains.” This perverse understanding of what makes a hero pervades society at an institutional level.
Take it from Aizawa, the UA entrance exam is illogical and harmful, stemming from society’s fascination with brute strength. To get in to the UA Hero course, you need a combat-capable quirk. This system precludes people like Shinso or Aizawa from gaining admission, people who posses some of the greatest and most useful quirks any hero could ask for.
But the exam never asks, “What’s your true potential?” It begs but two simple questions, “How many villains can you beat up? How many people can you save (from villains)?” And the results end up looking like this:
That’s right, Lord Explosion Murder is the star of this year’s class. Bakugou’s quirk and personality are only useful for trying to kill things. Maybe he just needs a better role model. Who does he look up to? Oh, right, it’s All Might.
All Might is a defacto demi-god of this world. Outside of villainous circles, you won’t find anyone who doesn’t idolize him. But what good is that idolization? If someone like Bakugou genuinely believes himself to be following in All Might’s footsteps.
Well, maybe this is an isolated problem. All Might is UA’s celebrity alumni, of course they’ll try to keep up that image. But the other hero schools can’t all be like that, and the hero licensing program is bound to be–
Oh, nope. It’s all violence, all the time. Neat.
Granted, the provisional license exam does have a rescue phase, but almost everyone passed that. The part intended to cull 95% of the applicants is combat-based. Are there even enough villains in the world to justify being this focused on combat?
As tragic as it is, the elevation of violent heroes is only half the problem,
Because this is a zero-sum scenario: if brutality rises to the top, then utility is pushed to the bottom.
Non-violent heroes simply do not have a clear path to success. I’m using Shinso as an example again, because there are so few like him that manage to rise to the point of being mentioned in the story. The realm of heroism is all but institutionally sealed off for them.
Society wants heroes who fight villains. That is what their purpose has become. And anyone who can’t conform to that mold gets pushed out. Maybe Stain was on to something; heroes have deviated from their original purpose, they now exist only for the spectacle of the fight.
All Might’s position as the Symbol of Peace does not extol heroism, but rather violence in heroism’s name.
Just wanna point this out again: Toga really wants Shigaraki to be “happy.” She explains that to her, the League is all about feeling good, and we know she’s enjoying herself - and also cares for Twice’s well-being - but she really wants Shigaraki in particular to be included in this feel-goodness. Perhaps because he doesn’t emote positively a lot, she’s made it somehow her mission to make him feel good too - or, and this is also likely, she just likes him a whole lot.
In the first example above, she’s on the phone with Mr. Compress when she tells him that her little side gig was totally worth it, and also, it’ll really make Shigaraki happy so it’s all good. In the second example, Twice whispers to her his plan during the chaotic Overhaul arc, and her immediate response is thinking that it’ll make Shigaraki happy.
This is why I think it’s pretty fair to speculate that she’s got something of a crush on her leader. And it’s not in the classical sense to her, wherein she wants to literally “become” her crush - she just really wants him to be happy, and she wants to make him happy. It’s a very sweet motivation, and it’s also a very positive attribute of Toga’s: as remarked, she doesn’t have a lot of conscience to speak of, able to kill without any remorse, but she genuinely cares so much for those she’s close to. Get on her good side, and she’ll be the most loyal friend one can have, as Shigaraki has found out.
In chapter 148, she questions why he wants her to do something that’ll make her unhappy, because that goes against her entire life motto. He’s able to convince her simply by saying that it’s for his sake, and all of theirs too. This is the first time we see him use her devotion towards him willingly, and he trusts her to act independently too, because he knows she’ll - as shown - act in a way that’ll make him “quite pleased.” For better or worse, she’s the most loyal League member to not just the vague ideals of the League, but most specifically, to Shigaraki Tomura himself.
It could end up screwing her over, but I really hope not, because I think it’s good for him too to have someone who cares that deeply in his life: and she’s the prime candidate for a character who’ll bring out the caring side of him we saw during the All for One vs All Might battle again (though not necessarily romantically). Food for thought.
I cannot believe my ShigaToga ass didn`t find this post earlier. I think exactly the same as you and the two moments you take as reference are actually the ones that made me start shipping them harder.
BNHA, some thoughts on Toga after reading both your recent metas, the representation and female characters ones. Toga getting reduced to fetish fuel by fandom is pretty irritating. It really shortchanges her character, she's interesting. Despite all the murder, she's not written as a true psychopath/sociopath - her emotions are written as genuine, her empathy is written as being real. Her most depraved and her most empathetic moments both occur in the same arc, too (Overhaul's Hideout).
I actually think we can make a pretty good case for Toga being the best written female character in all of Boku no Hero Academia.
There are two other contenders–Inko and Nana–who could probably easily take the spot if not for their extenuating circumstances: Inko simply isn’t in the story enough to be a consistent source of emotional engagement, and we haven’t seen enough of Nana yet to get a real sense of the depth of her character. If Nana gets to be part of an extended series of flashbacks or becomes a vestige that Izuku can talk to, we might get enough of her to bump her to the top.
But right now, I can make a pretty convincing case for Toga.
PREACH OP. Quality Post. What you say is so true. The first thing I wrote here in my anime blog was actually an analysis of the female representation in BNHA. I basically said that despite having a lot of potential, the girls were trapped in a shonen, which sadly meant they would always come second to the male characters. Even if she is not my personal favourite (although I do love her); Himiko Toga has been the only girl to escape this so far.

Shigaraki Week Day 1: family/childhood/redemption
a little character study on tomura, and the families he’s lost and found along the way
Tomura couldn’t remember much of his parents; a large hand ruffling his hair, his mother’s sharp laugh, eyes reflecting the same red as his own, and the sounds of horror as their dying screams echoed off of the walls. That never bothered him, though. He didn’t need to remember any more than that. He certainly didn’t want to. His heart was already numb, but perhaps it was better that way.
Besides, every day he could still feel that same large hand within reach, always there, giving comfort. So long as Tomura didn’t think too long on things, it was almost as if nothing had changed. He had no reason to miss them, and that empty feeling in his chest could only be betrayal, not sadness.
And yet things were still different after their deaths. After that, he met Sensei. With him as an ever-guiding light, Tomura found a new home, a new purpose, a new understanding, a new life. The hollow void where only the broken vestiges of a heart remained was a constant reminder of that. Their world was cruel, fickle, and clearly more than willing to throw him away for things outside of his control. But Sensei, Sensei still looked after him. Still took him in, shaping him into something better, something sharper, something…. something new. Still a child, Tomura found a place to grow into a creature of death, just as he was always meant to be.
Sensei was brutal, but he cared. He stayed.
Sensei was the only teacher one could need, teaching him to survive, to learn, to devour. Teaching that it was okay to destroy, it was only to want to, that there was nothing wrong with reviling in it. Tomura finally understood. He was meant to live for his own needs, trusting in Sensei but also in himself, in his own power; Sensei taught him how to break what he didn’t like, showed the ways in which cruelty and revenge could make one’s blood come alight with joy and life. For the first time he could remember, there was heat running through his veins, feral joy and hatred replacing what his heart used to be.
Finally, thanks to Sensei, he felt something. Finally he had a place to belong, to thrive. Perhaps this was what ‘family’ meant?
And then Sensei was gone. It was almost ironic really; he still had the hand to hold of a family that felt empty, and yet the one he needed, the one that taught him how to live, how to die, how to feel, the only had to reach out for him in support and acceptance, was somewhere Tomura could never reach back.
Unlike before, Tomura’s loss was not one of numbness. No; this hatred ran hotter than before, burning the remnants whatever feelings that memories of his parents had softened, the remnants of a crying child’s heart, into dust. He had to be stronger still, he had to be better, he had to prove himself. But how could he, when for the first time he was completely alone?
Except, perhaps he wasn’t so alone after all.
They were all messy at first, annoyance and grudging acceptance keeping them alive while Tomura took what he could from their ignorance, their obedience. But with only his anger and hatred to ground him in his apathy, slowly the rest of the League began to creep in.
The League was disrespectful, crude, uncaring of boundaries; but they were things to be used, just as his sensei taught him. And yet still they were irreverent. He couldn’t completely shape them, and they weren’t there to guide him, so where did that leave things? One might even say there were approaching on ‘equals.’
As dangerous a though as the was, a part of Tomura almost wanted that to be the case. After all, when had he ever had someone on his level before? Someone he could truly trust other than the one who’d shaped him?
While certain members were still a mystery in their own ways, connections still loose and uncertain, things were changing. Tomura was changing. And with him, new strings were tied, and the mess they all were became one slowly filled with support and understanding. They were all changing, and while Tomura couldn’t completely understand the ways his heart and mind were shifting together, he couldn’t find it in himself to fight back.
They were nothing but chaos, a swirling mass of madness and destruction. And yet in them, there was comfort. It was a new feeling, but not one he minded; even when the anxiety and doubt would wash over him, making Tomura choke on his legacy, somehow their peace would find him quickly.
For the first time in memory, Tomura felt warm. Not the fading caress of a childhood past, or the consuming anger and obsession under his Sensei, but simply warmth. It was new, disconcerting, but somehow Tomura wanted to hold on, to keep this feeling close to his chest where it would never fade.
Numbness and hateful heat still remained, and yet somehow… somehow it no longer overpowered him. Now he knew he could control it on his own, because now he knew he didn’t need to. He would always hate; but he was so much more than that.
Tomura still didn’t understand the whole ‘family’ thing, but if it was anything like this feeling? He could understand why people were so ready to die for it. And this time, he wasn’t going to let them be lost.
Love it!
[Fic] The Opportunist
Tomura isn’t curious, but he asks anyway. “My quirk… did you give it to me?”
T | 1.3 | One-Shot
Written for @shigarakiweek Day One: Childhood.
Shigaraki is a teenager here, and this fic is tagged AfoShiga, but the rating is only because of the implication of feelings. There is slight inappropriate touching but mostly it’s just an explanation of how I view their relationship, which does include these creepy elements. So if that’s not up your alley, maybe pass on this one.
Or, if you think that sounds interesting, read it here.
I never thought about AfoShiga because it is honestly so disgusting (meaning that it is super toxic and creepy) and simply... I don't even have the words to describe it. BUT it is true that Tomura admires All for One and that if he feels attraction towards men he could possible develop feelings for him ¿? I guess. Most importantly, I love that you write Tomura as clever enough to have is own theories about the accident. Your fic seems so canon, I feel it is more accurate and realistic than my own headcanons hahahaha
A hidden cold reality
Author Note: This is for the Day 1 of the Shigaraki Tomura Week 2018 (@shigarakiweek). A huge thanks to the moderators for organising everything and establishing the rules (which I hope I have respected and not messed up because this is my first time). My fic a mixture of the prompts Childhood and Family. The fic also has, in a twisted way, some hints of the prompt Seasons from day 2 (winter is a recurrent theme and I believe, after reading it, you will all understand why I think Shigaraki hates cold weather). I am not sure if I will be able to post anything tomorrow or the following days, so I made this long to compensate. Sorry if you people didn't want something angsty. This written piece will be about Tenko`s life changing accident, so you have been warned.
English is not my native language, it is very likely that I have made mistakes or my writing is sometimes awkward. If any of you readers wants to respectfully correct me, please do it. I will be thankful, change it and improve.
In case it is confusing, here is a tip to read the fic: The normal letters are the narrator talking about the past from the present day and the cursive is the flashback itself.
Shouto, seeing Dabi’s blue flames: “Are you Endeavor’s secret love ch-oh wait, you’re my brother.”
My favourite part of the initial villain encounter is when Shig goes on some rant about how some violence is deemed good and some bad arbitrarily and how violence will never end violence and then All Might just says “That’s bullshit you just like killing shit” and he’s just like “lol yea”
Ok, I know this is just supposed to be a funny post and I mean, it is, cause that moment is so absurd. BUT the scene kinda annoys me too. I don't like it when people (and I am actually referring to Horikoshi here because he is responsible for this) try to simplify conflicts and turn the thing into a: “the protagonists are the good ones, therefore they are right and the others are the bad ones, so... just everything they say should not be taken seriously”, then back it up making the villain fucking nuts.
I mean, is true that the pro heroes use violence and also that violence is not a good strategy to fight back violence (see my stupid pacifist and pro rehabilitation self showing up here), repressing extreme people only makes them more extreme (this is a psychologically and sociologically proven fact. You need to educate people, not beat the shit out of then until they get it right).
Shigaraki is not saying anything over the top, it makes a lot of sense, I believe. However, instead of exploring that, he is just portrayed as crazy brat who gets excited hurting teenagers for no apparent reason.
Disclaimer that I shouldn't have the need to do but I know how literal some people are so... I am not implying that having a valid point would make him less of a villain or his actions less condemnable.

There is not enough Handman content out there so I am making a huge headcanon post
This is a warm-up for the Shigaraki Tomura Week 2018 I want to take part in.
Age: I am sure he is either 19 or 21.
Probably has some kind of non organic maturing disorder because, for the most part, he was raised lacking a lot of stimulus and could not fully develop his potential.
Family and Childhood:
His mother died when giving birth.
Was a home-schooled kid.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if little Shiggy`s quirk appeared to defend himself because his dad was psychically abusive; I want to imagine Tenko having a non toxic familiar environment and a somehow happy llife. At least until the accident took everything away from him.
Criminal Record:
(Warning for possible triggering topics here. Just skip to the next part if not comfortable, okey?)
Since he got adopted by AFO, Tomura became really close to the villain world, losing all sense of pro social behaviour.
Illegal downloading to the extreme, buying and consuming alcohol/tobacco/drugs before the legal age...
His adolescence was full of hate crime towards heroes (destroying monuments commemorating them, starting disturbs during peaceful events... thoose kind of things).
Dabi is the unarguable king of squatting. Nevertheless, before he became a recognizable figure; Shigaraki used to occupy abandoned places too.
Especially after he stormed out of the base because Kurogiri had lectured him.
He has committed all types of cyber crime.
Shigaraki is not interested in material things, definitely not a burglar.
The only stuff he really wants are videogames or merchandise, and he doesn't feel good robbing little geek shops.
He did plan to steal a super expensive console once, then thought it was actually better to get Kurogiri buy it for him.
First serious crime was at the age of 17.
Battery: Tomura assaulted someone for what he considered “making fun of Father”.
Did not actually kill this person, but left them severely scarred and traumatized.
In addition, we have the canon crimes: attempted murder, kidnapping and mutilation.
I don't think Tomura has committed these following crimes, however, I think he would, given the circumstance:
Live streaming torture (Shigaraki clearly uses media on his favour and l think he would definitely mock heroes like: look what I am doing and you are not able to stop).
Revenge porn (Shiggy has huge yandere tendencies and besides the obvious stalking, this is the crime fitting that personality type most. Because when you hurt someone so psychotic, they want to get back at you and humiliation is always considered a good way to do so).
Hogwarts House: Funnily enough, he has traits from all four of them.
Just like a Gryffindor, Shiggy`s got nerve and is undeniably daring. He is not afraid to face the yakuza or provoke heroes who are clearly stronger and more competent than him.
I have seen him placed in Slytherin a lot and Tomura is indeed clever and cunning; also having great determination.
Regarding Hufflepuff, Shigaraki values loyalty, is very dedicated to his cause and works hard to achieve his goals.
As far as Ravenclaw is concerned, there is a considerable amount of traits this villain boy shares with said house: intelligence, wit, creativity and individuality.
But I cannot totally picture him in any of them.
Tomura completely lacks chivalry and any truly heroic characteristic, making him not fit to be a lion.
Shigaraki is not as resourceful and self-preservative as one would expect from a villain his caliber. These are extremely important Slytherin traits and not having them (not to a notable extent) is something that cannot be overlooked.
Problem with Tomura is that he is everything but a good guy; Shiggy is not kind or tolerant or patient. Discart Hufflepuff.
I would say he doesn`t have plenty of wisdom and could improve his acceptance. That is it, tho. Probably no one is going to agree with me but Ravenclaw is actually the house from which he misses fewer traits. Therefore, if I had to sort him somewhere it would be here.
Alternative: We can headcanon Shigaraki as a squib (how sad, poor handman...) or maybe he went to the American Wizard and Witchcraft school Ilvermorny. He would very likely be in Pukwudgie
Extroversion level: Introvert and a complete asocial who, ironically, needs/seeks attention.
Hobbies:
Computer stuff.
Shigaraki is a professional internet trol.
Collects figurines of his favourite videogame or anime characters and treasures them.
They are the only well-maintained thing in his bedroom because he periodically cleans them.
Just laying in bed listening to his favourite emo and hardcore bands.
This is the only way he stops his obsessive brain and relax.
Falls sleep most of the times.
You need to touch him to wake him up, because the headphones prevent him from hearing any kind of noise/scream. It is a very dangerous task not all league members are able to do without getting hurt.
Watching horror and gore movies just for the LOLs of it.
(NSFW) When he finally discovers it, sex becomes his fav pastime because is a way to get love and affection he needs without seeming weak.
You can't really call this a hobby but he enjoys watching the news or having a look at the newspaper Kurogiri buys because he likes being informed. Tomura is actually very critical about the info provided by media, not believing everything they tell.
Boy likes to learn new things. When curiosity strikes -> research.
Favourite colour: Red, not black (look at his footwear for evidence)
Random:
He is extremely competitive and jealous.
Both tendencies come as a defense mechanism to his inferiority complex. He needs to be the best, get what he wants and own everything/everyone to hide his insecurities.
Do not confuse this with a God complex, Tomura does not see himself as a superior entity with the power/skill/right to change the world (that would be Chisaki Kai a.k.a. Overhaul for you. Their deliriums lead them to dominate/ become the bosses of their respective villain associations. However, despite acting out in similar ways, they are intrinsically different, complete opposites indeed; which is what makes me love their rivalry).
Tomura is not as tall as people think, he is just so skinny that he makes a large body effect.
Eats poorly, gets full easily and is unable to cook.
Believes he is ugly, disgusting and nobody could find him attractive.
I think Tomura would only accept vaseline or any other care product if the one offering is someone he was a crush on.
If one day he sees Dabi with his nails painted black he would laugh at him, saying stupid stuff like: ¨how girly¨
He is trying to mask how much he wants his nails black too.
Toga notices and paints them when he is sleeping, so he can blame her and can wear them without admitting he wanted it.
My take on the `wearing gloves` headcanon is that he would only do it in winter, to avoid the annoying sensation you get when your fingers freeze.
Shigaraki is one of these people who constantly complain about bad weather/being cold but, when summer finally comes, starts bitching about the hot temperatures.
Loves dark places.
His eyes are so used to poor lighting that he is very vulnerable to the sun.
His driving lessons are obtained from car videogames a.k.a. this kid doesn't know how to drive. Keep him away from any vehicle!
He has convinced himself that sports are stupid activities heroes promote and he is, therefore, simply not interested in them.
Narrator: He really sucks at them.
Playing card games is the only group activity he does for leisure.
Hates water in any form or shape and any activity involving contact with it.
This includes drinking it (would rather have a soda, alcoholic drink or even coffee than “that tasteless shit”. His words, not mine); showering, which he often “forgets” (baths are definitely a no, he finds them super boring and doesn't like the feeling of his skin being even more wrinkled); rain, snow...
Someone could die if he is thrown a water balloon.
Loathes adorable pets.
Tomura is the kind of kid who would have a rat mascot both in reality and Hogwarts AU.
Quirkless AU:
First option
A patient in a mental health institution.
Seriously, this boy needs urgent professional help.
He is portrayed as someone who has a mixed range of severe symptons; very likely to engage in various forms of physical self harm.
Second option.
It could be a continuation of the previous one. He takes his meds, regularly gets checked and can live quite a normal life because he is not defined by his illness. Society should not exclude and stigmatize people with mental health problems. I am not going to be the one who does so
Basically a scrub teenager.
Becomes a youtuber and starts slowly gaining popularity to the point he can make a career out of it.
Videos mostly consist on videogame related content, but he can sometimes vary on the content he creates, making cracks or anime theories.
Rarely talks about serious or personal matters.
His legal tutor (AFO or Kurogiri, you get to choose) still obliges him to study, much to his displease.
He eventually matures and decides to study really hard to become a surgeon.
Explanation: He doesn't want anyone to suffer on their skin just as he did, so he wants to help people by providing the opportunity to “improve” themselves.
Yes, Himiko is a nurse and Chisaki a doctor, and I am definitely turning the villain`s quirkless au into a drama/comedy TV show and naming it “the gang destroys a hospital”
Time for another BNHA and DC Comics crossover post!
Secret Society of Villains starring...
All for One as LEX LUTHOR
(He the villain of villains, the one who always has a master plan and the true enemy of Superman, who is kind of the equivalent of All Might. I believe both AFO and Lex Luthor share an ideological motivation / ruthless personality)
Shigaraki Tomura as THE JOKER
(Their danger level is completely different, I am well aware of that. However, when Shiggy gets rid of his cartoonish and absurd attitude; he becomes quite terrifying too. Each of these villains are the most popular in their respective franchise and the two have similar characteristics in terms of nasty appearance, deranged mind, chaotic evil...)
Kurogiri as OSWALD COBBLEPOT
(Sophisticated and gentlemanly. Very important, I am not using the villain name `Penguin` on purpose because that power hungry alter ego does not fit Kurogiri)
Sako Atushiro A.K.A. Mr. Compress as THE RIDDLER
(The style and the strategy of always trying to outsmart the heroes are what they have in common. Also, not being particularly violent comparing to most of the other villains)
Dabi as TWO FACE
(Let me explain: Assuming the `Dabi is a Todoroki` as true, this boy was in the path of becoming a hero and doing so much good to society. Unfortunately, he suffered too much during said journey, physically as well as psychologically. His face and body were disfigured, giving him a scarier appearence. With this new twist his life had given, Dabi could not help but succumb to his demons, getting the best of his darker self. Just like Harvey Dent did)
Himiko Toga as HARLEY QUINN
Jin Bubaigawara A.K.A. Twice as MR. FREEZE
(Two Face would have been the obvious option for him, cause they share the bipolarity/multiple personality spectrum of mental ilnesses. Sadly, I had already picked him for Dabi and liked the explanation behind it better. Then again, Deathstroke could have worked too. At least for the sake of the Deadpool parallel. Despite this, there was something about giving Jin a mercenary that didn `t rub me the right way. Twice was truly one of the most difficult to find a counterpath. I finally opted for the tragic backstories and a emotional character vibe. Moreover, Victor Fries has to stay in his suit to keep himself alive whereas Twice has to put on his mask not to completely lose his head. If you think about it, the villain role is almost an obligation for them).
Suichi Iguchi A.K.A. Spinner as KILLER CROC
Hikiishi Kenji A.K.A. Magne as BANE
(I know it seems super random, the link I made was that Bane had to carry the weight of being the son of his father and pay for his crimes. Magne, on the other hand, had to struggle because the world was trying to tell her who she had to be. They became completely brutal because of those unjust experiences).
Muscular as DOOMSDAY
Moonfish as CHEETAH
(In order to justify it, I will simply say: hunger for human flesh)
Mustard as THE SCARECROW
(TBH, I only paired them due to the gas thing. Nevertheless, I believe that Fox´s Gotham made Scarecrow a teen, so if you take that version, the ages adjust perfectly)
And a special collaboration of Chisaki Kai A.K.A Overhaul as RA'S AL GHUL
(One is the head of the league of shadows while the other is the boss of the yakuzas, pretty much the same. They kill for their beliefs which, in both cases, are basically that people are a plague)
Young Justice Momosquad starring...
Yaoyorozu Momo as TROIA (The original Wonder Girl)
Mezo Shoji as BUMBLEBEE
(Okey, this is exclusively based on their seriousness and teamworker nature)
Jirou Kyoka as BATGIRL
(If I had to name exactly which one of the batgirls, I would be torn between Barbara Gordon and Cassandra Cain. Given that the second has never been affiliated to the team... we can say that Jirou will be a great Oracle in the future)
Kouda Kouji as BEAST BOY
Ojiro Mashirao as ROBIN
(The batkids are always the best in martial arts. I am taking the Tim Drake version because is the calmest and most hard-working one out of all.)
and
Hagakure Toru as SECRET
(DC is way too dark to find a character with the right personality for this cutie. I have decided to go for quirk/power similarity and nothing suits a invisible girl better than an actual ghost. In addition, Secret has a crush on Robin who I have made the equivalent of Ojiro ;P hahaha)
... with the guest Itsuka Kendou as BLACK CANNARY
(My rocker girls who have a quirk/power that doesn`t seem like much, but they make it ultra badass)
-This squad was almost impossible, I swear. So I apologise if you think they are lame or do not make any sense -
Author Note: Take a look at the Titan Dekusquad and Outlaw Bakusquad one if you want. If someone with talent wants to draw any of this I would be more than pleased. Feel free too to comment and tell me what you think! :)
Alright because I’m kind heated I want to rant a little bit, go ahead and skip this but I need this of my chest.
I know and am completely aware of Overhaul’s actions as a villain and his psychological damage. I know the things he’s done are horrific. But that’s kind of the point, my friends.
I’ve seen people saying that the only reason the league is safe from the antis is because of their deviation from real people and how they are so obviously exaggerated that they can’t be real. Personally, that’s just even more reason to like Overhaul. He’s realistic. He’s not something too far off from the actual monstrosities in this world. But it’s the same reason why people like works of fiction like Hannibal, Black List, American Horror Story, The Shining, and many more. It gives us the evil we see in the real world and it puts it on a level that is attractive for anyone who likes darker themes.
People enjoy these things because it highlights the sin of mankind and the evil that we are capable of. To me, personally, that kind of stuff is interesting. Characters are created to be enjoyed, to be entertaining. Not everyone found the precepts arc interesting because of the awful pacing and the messy outlining of it. But I enjoyed it! We were given awesome characters and an amazing threat to the heroes. I love the precepts and I especially love Overhaul, that much is evident, but it’s not because I condone their actions or because I relate to their goals. It’s because I’m empathetic towards the ( albeit poorly portrayed ) struggles Overhaul experienced as a child and into his teenage years. I relate to his obsession with loyalty, I relate with the burning desire he has to return the genorosity he was given. I know what it feels like to feel like a burden, and I know to what extents I’d go to in order I pay someone back.
Would I do the things he did? Absolutely not. Never in a million years would I even consider committing such heinous crimes, but I’m also not in his situation. I love him to death because he is so human, so realistic. I don’t love what he did, I love him for all the complexities in his character and the passion that is boiling right under the surface of his skin. He’s vague and his backstory is blurry for casual readers so I understand why people might not be able to empathize with him like I do.
I’m going to be real: I love Chisaki Kai. He’s an excellent character and an interesting villain, which is more than what I can say for some of the other villains. He has motive. He has morals. He has wishes for a future and he has aspirations. Some people didn’t collect that stuff from his arc because of how messy it was, but I know a lot of people did.
Hate him all you want. Despise him with all of your heart. But with that being said, remember your humanity and remember that you’re talking to real people. Telling people who like a fictional character to choke and die because of the intrigue is just pure hatred and immaturity. I’m tired of people thinking that sending death threats to people is cute. It’s not. Be civil and just let people love what they love if they’re not hurting anyone.
That being said, I hope everyone has a nice day. I’m more than glad to answer questions about Overhaul and anything regarding him. 🖤
I love it when people express the stuff I am too lazy to write.
Shit is about to go down a.k.a get interesting in a really twisted way. I am so excited for the next season. But at the same time kind of afraid ¿? You know, for all the hate, division and toxicity this is going to cause in the fandom. You just have to see how some people reacted to a meme that is supposed to be just for fun...

Villains as Yuuei students AU!! Resident third year delinquents. Tomura never fails to complain before, during, and after Akaguro-sensei’s class. This was crawling around in my head for months and I FINALLY got out of school so I can post art again!! And boy do I plan on posting a lot :’) #BNHA #MHA
Twitter: (x)
I need more of this AU, seriously, I love it :)
BNHA role swap. The Villains are Yuuei Students: Shigaraki Tomura Edition
“I'm going to ignore the fact that Shigaraki would be called Shimura Tenko because I really don't like that name” this was my first thought and then a whole fanfic plot idea came out of it.
Nana Shimura, after a night with her lover, accidentally got pregnant. This dude is foreign or a special agent, making it impossible for him to stay around. Nana and him spoke about abortion or giving the baby away. It was honestly the cleverest idea. However, Nana decided to have the baby as a single mom in the very last minute. She didn't tell him not to ruin his career... and well, mostly because it was against what they had arranged. (I actually hate this scenario, but I had to take the father out of the picture and that`s the only explanation it ocurred to me).
Everything went fine because she had help from a lot of people to raise her kid (you can choose male or female, is not relevant to the story). Thanks to this, she could still continue with her job as, you know, world saviour. Nana`s child grew, fell in love, married and planned to have his/her own family quite fast (the next Shimura generation is simply a normal person. One who, although having a good quirk, never took an interest in following his/her mother`s steps). Here is when things got twisted. Nana had made a lot of enemies during her hero service years and the bad guy who hated her most, villain All Might, attempted to murder her offspring. The police and pro heroes arrived when he was torturing the pregnant woman. It was precisely Nana herself who ´saved` her daughter/ daughter-in-law. The doctors did all they could but unfortunately it was not enough to prevent her from dying. However, they were able to take the baby out. After a month of intensive care in the hospital, Tenko was like any other baby. Nana had no doubt this time, she could not keep him. That`s why handman is yet called Shigaraki Tomura in this au of mine.
Kurogiri, a retired hero who used to work with the police, infiltrating in multiple crime gangs; became his legal tutor. In the present, Shigaraki is a 16-year-old hero wannabe and Nana is a still alive, kicking ass and quite young grandmother. Very few people know they are related, but Tomura is well aware of the whole story. The heroine tries to visit him as much as she can, taking extreme precaution measures. They get along very well.
All this is like the background info, so the actual plot would start when Villain All Might`s successors (probably Deku and some other canon 1-A classmates) find out Shiggy`s existence and want to end him; to finish the job that got their master into prison. Maybe they try to recruit him to psychologically torture Nana... or directly try to kill him, not sure. Any way, they fail the first time, so the thing would be that now Tomura and some others who get stuck in the jambo mambo (probably the ones who canonly form the league of villains) have to survive on the run.
Author Note: What do you think? (scratches the back of her neck) I would love to know your opinions. I am writing concrete headcanons now, so you get more info about other characters and how I imagine them in this parallel reality. I am hoping to make a series out of this if I have enough time and inspiration. It is also a bit of a high school AU, to be honest. I've tried not to make it look like a soup opera but it sometimes just happens. I live for the tea.
Tomura would be this kid who never gets over his early adolescence emo phase: his hair is always covering his face, never shows the slightest amount of his pale skin and seems allergic to sunlight; wears hoodies on summer what the actual fuck; loves dark themes/topics and favourite colour is black, total edgelord, bitter sense of humor, MRC and BVB...
A videogame freak unable to open a book and study a bit.
Watches anime because he is too lazy for the manga.
Him as a student:
One of his teachers (All for one), for some reason, puts great trust on him, naming him class representative.
Tomura is not amused.
Complies to his duties, yes, but with extreme exasperation.
AFO also believes Shigaraki has great potential as a hero. Insists on the idea that if he got better at fighting, with his quirk, he could disintegrate any dangerous weapon a villain had before they could hurt anyone.
Moreover, this sensei affirms a Tomura in good shape would be impossible to escape as he is able to destroy any hiding place or possible obstacle someone tries to throw into the persecution.
Considering all this, AFO stars training Shigaraki.
Tomura is not giving much, tho.
He is a bit depressed because he is sure he is never going to be like his grandmother. He passes all his courses with shameful results. He cannot find the motivation to make a bigger effort and just keeps going that way until...
a) he has a life changing experience when he disintegrates a broken building wall that was about to crush some kids. Tomura realises his quirk is very useful, actually perfect for rescue missions.
b) Chisaki Kai arrives, transferred from Shiketsu. Contrary to Tomura, he is handsome, polite and with a quirk only destroying to create. He hates his guts. Although it seems to be one of the few people, if not the only one doing so. Kai is starting to become the yueei candidate for top class pro hero. Shigaraki does not like this a single bit. In his eyes, Chisaki is all a facade. Underneath that cool appearance he is just a weirdo prick with a superiority god complex. Tomura is not going to let someone like that enter the same category as Nana Shimura. That`s how he gets his act together (hate is a pure emotion, best fuel ever haha Nah, I am just a sucker for the Overhaul x Tomura relationship. Not in a shippy way, more like rivals).
His hero costume:
Hasn't designed one yet.
He starts thinking about it after the aforementioned epiphany.
Interactions:
Dabi is his best (probably only) friend, even if they are all the time bickering. He belongs to one of the most famous families in the hero society, him being the outcast. Tomura thinks of him as a total rebel without a cause. Despite his bad behaviour, Dabi has a natural talent that makes him one of the best at yuuei academy.
The only thing Shiggy enjoys about being clas representative is the status it gives him.
He cannot help but smile when he sees people who dislike him or would not talk to him in any other circumstance, be obliged to face him and treat him with great respect.
Tomura gives a gay vibe and is popular with guys.
Much to his disappointment because he is actually more into girls (I am saying “more” and not making him straight because my open minded multishipper ass always tends to give characters the possibility of discovering they are indeed bisexuals).
Sadly for him, the only one who shows to have such interest is Toga Himiko, a first year unicorn lover, who is way too obsessed with him.
Dabi, instead of helping him get rid of her (idk if you are aware of how ShigaToga is actually my favourite romantic ship for both of them BUT without the villainous context i can't see Tomura having the slightest interest on Himiko), encourages Toga and has lots of fun.
