Man, post-mortem Aaron is so sad. Even without his family history, the way he couldn't get traction because he couldn't find people to work with fits so well with the themes of the season.
I briefly thought maybe Cody was his ally, but no, even the dude who's completely chill with vampires with orders to kill him was happy to be rid of the local monster hunter.
Aaron didn't consider power structures or politics; he just looked for signs of individual monsters and followed them. And he wasn't exactly wrong, but if he'd bothered looking at the forest as a whole instead of just the trees, he might have seen the monsters that made Purpee such a supernatural hotspot in the first place were nothing but greedy-ass humans.
