And, I know for Marvel and DC fans this may be a negative, but for people who have never really cared for Superhero stories (me) but love the storytelling potential of superpowers (also me), Supacell feels like a godsend.

Everything is so human. It's the most realistic depiction of people suddenly gaining superhuman abilities I've personally seen. There is no binary of "I must use this for good" and "I must use this for evil". No one is being shoehorned into Hero and Villian. These are people, not Superheroes. And, if they do become Superheroes? (Which I acknowledge is a fair possibility.) It will be earned. We will see how they get there every step of the way.

Everything first and foremost is built on character and plot development. The superpowers serve both of these - not the other way around. The writers really said "let's make compelling characters with lives destined for drama and then throw in some superhero threat levels just to make sure that the drama is actualized in the worst/best way possible". It brings to mind the image of an open fire and then someone dropping in a spot of gasoline. Like, the fire was providing enough warmth and entertainment as it is, but now? Explosive.

Somewhat random, but as a short older sister myself, I have to wonder, am I the only one who kept getting surprised by how small Sabrina actually was compared to the guys? For some reason it didn't fully hit me, until she stood next to Rodney at the hospital. Maybe it's because most of her scenes were with her sister or patients lying down, but the actress definitely makes Sabrina feel like a taller person. And then you see her scolding Tayo...

Also, obviously in season one Michael and Dionne's romance was at the center of the story, which I loved, but to put my shipping goggles on for a second for potential other couples, I kinda could see some seeds planted for Sabrina and Rodney. Mostly because their personalities would balance each other out, and I feel like they ended up being alone together multiple times in the latter half of the season. Plus I enjoyed how he cheered her on for being violent. IDK, maybe that's just me as well.

for the shipping i cant lie at first i didnt clock it but all it took was scrolling on tiktok for a bit and seeing the edits man but honestly i wouldnt be against it i do agree with you about them balancing each other out. buttt again, on tiktok, i saw some people saying that they thought they were seeing something with andre and sabrina like the scene when he saves her and then at the end when she helps him and so some people think it could go the love triangle route but idkkk i dont see that happening.
