γΌgojo satoru pathetically calls you in the middle of the night to come join him. whatever could go wrongβ¦?
Lolita's Note: is the jjk fandom still alive? who knew that my first solo gojo fic would be this⦠trivial.
cw: a bit casual angst if you may. a little bit of suggestive innuendoes but honestly this is just fluff. campfires, hotpot and s'mores <33
wc: 824 (guess who lied to herself saying she won't write for the time being)
"i'm alone right now, wanna join me?" the all powerful, strongest sorcerer's singsong voice vibrated in your phone's speakers as you finally caved in to answer his 26th call.
you scoffed and tried to end the call without a word, refusing whatever innuendo he's implying.
"wait, wait! i didn't mean it like that." sensing your disappointed silence, he almost immediately begs, then he chuckles quietly.
"satoru, i don't know what you're planning to do with me once i come to your houseγΌ" you scold, but he interrupts you with a tone that you rarely hear.
"i'm in my cabin right now."
"it's 11:41 pm. how do you expect me to come there at this hour?"
"i can pick you up." he suggests immediately. teleporting does help in speeding things up without needing the help of a car.
you sigh. now, the sleep you were fighting so hard to get has been completely washed over by your boyfriend's late night shenanigans.
"what are you doing there by yourself? aren't you supposed to be on a trip to hokkaido?" you say as you get up from your bed, packing a few camping essentials to your bag.
"i am in hokkaido, actually. trip was over yesterday."
"and, you see, there's a lot of food here. and s'mores." he trails off, his voice sounding a little bit disappointed.
"i invited everyone for a camping trip but no one showed up."
now your brows really furrowed, not out of annoyance, but genuine concern.
"i'm outside my apartment. come pick me up."
gojo didn't even need to end the call, because right after you opened the door, he was already there waiting for you like it was nothing.
you half expected his usual smug grin, or him to crack a joke and tease you about how pissed off you are, lying about something so trivialγΌyou know, his usual neurodivergent antics during the day.
yet here he was. clad in a thick jacket and boots. his hair was let down, cerulean blue eyes softly looking at you with quiet joy.
"let's go?" he said it with a sense of relief as well. a question that didn't really ask you to come with him, but to reassure himself that finally, for once, someone is willing to go.
he wasn't lying about the food. there was a lot, and they were all unpacked. although, there were a few bags of chips that were opened. and a bag of marshmallows he took a piece from to roast in the campfire, probably to comfort himself that doing this alone isn't a big deal.
which didn't work, obviously.
"toruβ¦" you murmured his nickname as you stared at everything, unsure of how to apologize.
"sorry about the mess. i tried to organize this myself since i thought i could get some help once everyone comes." he explains, uncharacteristically scratching the back of his head.
"i actually have this rare vhs tape of this one chick flick film from the 80s. do youγΌ" you stop him with a hug.
"you're so silly. you could've just told me about this instead of sounding like a dog in heat first thing after i pick up." you pinch his cheeks, and he just eases into your touch. he doesn't retaliate with a snarkier remark, and only smiles and lets you do whatever you want with closed eyes. "i want to eat barbecue. you're making me hungry now."
"i wanted to eat s'mores first, though." he perks up.
"mister, you are not going to refuel whatever sugar rush you induced upon yourself."
"ah, but i have some chocolateγΌ"
"did you even have proper dinner?"
"dessert counts as one." now the familiar stupid satoru is back again, defending himself.
"you're not going through all of the sweets without eating a proper meal. where's the hotpot? i'll make some soup."
"babe, pleaseeeeβ¦" he whines as you rummage through all the luggage.
eventually, he gave in to your demands. you both set up a table beside the campfire, and on top of it was a portable butane stove with a pot of soup.
gojo tells you that someone did try to show up. it was yuuji. but he doesn't know where he ended up and he stopped texting back hours ago, probably due to his phone dying or bad signal.
so the only person left was you, and he knows that even if you roll your eyes and nag at him, it's hard for you to say no.
which is why the original plan of having a loud bonfire party being soiled on a random august night wouldn't really make him regret things now that you're here with him.
laughing at the film he bought thinking of you.
warming his hands with your touch.
feeding him the nth number of s'more with an annoyed pout on your face.
who would keep sulking after that? not satoru!
