С 24 февраля по 3 марта я находилась на севере Киевской области в маленьком селе Демидов. Село, которое практически с самого начала войны находилось под оккупацией российской армией / From February 24 to March 3, I was in the north of the Kiev region in the small village Demidov. The village, which almost from the beginning of the war was under occupation by the russian army.

Из-за постоянных обстрелов со стороны русских на второй день у нас пропало электричество, вода и связь. Еда и вода стремительно заканчивались. Мы часто ночевали в холодных и сырых подвалах под шум артиллерии и градов, которые разрушали в то время наши дома / Due to the constant shelling by the russians on the second day, we lost electricity, water and communications. Food and water were running out fast. We often spent the night in cold and damp cellars to the sound of artillery and hail, which destroyed our houses at that time.

Новые колоны боевой техники с отличительным знаком "Z" и "V" заходили в село практически каждый день. Они прятали свою технику между жилыми домами, в надежде что таким образом их не тронет украинская армия. ВСУ боясь навредить мирным жителям, не могла вести полноценный огонь по оккупантам / New columns of military equipment with the distinguishing mark "Z" and "V" entered the village almost every day. They hid their equipment between residential buildings, hoping that the Ukrainian army would not touch them in this way. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, fearing to harm civilians, could not conduct a full-fledged fire on the invaders.

Русские солдаты придавались мародерству: взламывали продуктовые магазины и дома людей, которые успели выехать и пустовали. Выносили продовольство и ценные вещи / russian soldiers were attached to looting: they broke into grocery stores and the houses of people who managed to leave and were empty. They took out food and valuables.

Русские не жалели мирных жителей и делали все, чтобы наши жизни превратились в ад. Вокруг постоянно велись ожесточенные бои, наше село и соседние были день и ночь в огне. Окна и двери в нашей квартире ходили ходуном от взрывной волны. Каждый день вид из окна был либо таким, либо хуже: / The russians did not spare civilians and did everything to make our lives turn into hell. Fierce battles were constantly fought around, our village and neighboring ones were on fire day and night. The windows and doors in our apartment were shaking from the blast. Every day the view from the window was either this or worse:

Утром 3 марта рано на рассвете нам удалось сбежать. Мы бежали пешком до соседнего населенного пункта, который был свободным от русских. Мы молились, чтобы не получить удар в спину, убегая со всех ног. Идти пришлось очень аккуратно, так как дорога была усеяна неразорванными снарядами / On the morning of March 3, early at dawn, we managed to escape. We ran on foot to the neighboring settlement, which was free from russians. We prayed not to get shot in the back as we ran as fast as we could. We had to go very carefully, as the road was littered with unexploded shells.

По пути был мост, который взорвали дабы остановить наступление оккупантов с севера Киевской области. Нам пришлось его преодолеть, дрожа от страха мы ступали шаг за шагом: / On the way there was a bridge that was blown up in order to stop the offensive of the invaders from the north of the Kiev region. We had to overcome it, trembling with fear, we stepped step by step:

Мы были безумно счастливы, когда нас встретили украинские военные на другой стороне моста и отвезли в безопасное место. Это было настоящее чудо. / We were extremely happy when we were met by the Ukrainian military on the other side of the bridge and taken to a safe place. It was a real miracle.

Несколькими днями позже село затопило водой из Киевского водохранилища вследствии разрушения дамбы. Именно этот маленький фактор не дал русским продвинуться ближе к Киеву и спас столицу Украины от наступления из севера. / A few days later, the village was flooded with water from the Kiev reservoir due to the destruction of the dam. It was this small factor that prevented the Russians from advancing closer to Kiev and saved the capital of Ukraine from an offensive from the north.

Месяц спустя, после того, как русские войска покинули Киевскую область, нам удалось вернуться в село. Нас встретила разгромленная от снаряда квартира без окон и дверей / A month later, after the russian troops left the Kiev region, we managed to return to the village. We were met by an apartment destroyed by a shell without windows and doors.
