❝ i’m not just your bestfriend lorenzo. i’m your girl. i’m the love of your life. just like you’re my boy. you’re the love of my life. ❞ rachel chuckled as she spoke. and although it was said as if were a joke, she truly meant it. lorenzo was the only person on this planet she loved more than herself. ❝ i was foolish – stupid. i didn’t know what love is. and now – i only love two people on this planet. me and you. ❞ rachel brought her coffee mug to her lips once more. letting the caffeine fill her body, she leaned back into her chair.  ❝ he doesn’t like me. he’s out to get me. he probably has a death wish for me. ❞ 

“the love of my life? don’t push your luck.” enzo joked, even though he knew rachel was probably right. although nothing between the two had ever been romotely romantic, there was definitely a soulmate aspect to their relationship. he rolled his eyes as she spoke, not really believing anything she was saying. “i never said you had to be in love with him. you probably weren’t in love with him before, but you can still like him. i didn't as if you were in love with him. also i really doubt he has a death wish for you." knowing he wasn’t about to win this, he shrugged it off, “but whatever you say.” 

❛❛ yeah, you got me. i was just barely holding on before you got here ‘cause i couldn’t stop thinking about spending some time with you. am i that easy to figure out? ❜❜ head crowned with the cotton clouds her duvets offered, the petite making of her limbs continued to coil in to shrink smaller, and smaller, and smaller on the bed as the thumps of her wee, little heart did nothing but escalate in the richter scale. the accusing belittlement that settled in the male’s tone caused a narrowing to rupture through her supple features, a sigh released between barely parted rose petals. ❛❛ ha-ha, you’re so funny.  you can act tough all you want, but i can smell the growing love for this movie you’re trying to hide and cover from a mile away, enzo, ❜❜ the blonde replied, an obvious smile hidden somewhere in her words. ❛❛ s'okay though. i’ll protect ya’ bad boy reputation for the cheap price of your silence and some cuddles. just make sure you do your best at telling the others i’m a tough cookie in disguise and i somehow managed to make you cry today, ‘cause i do feel like they think i’m just… poor little emmy or somethin’. making you cry would just give me the badass girl meets sweetheart image i’m so desperately searching for.  ❜❜

“yes, you are. it’s almost embarrassing how easy you are to figure out.” her comment evoked a genuine laugh from the boy. “my growing love?” he repeated skeptically. “how can it grow already? the movie's hardly even started.” he gently shook his head, “that's definitely not a cheap price. cuddles from me don't come cheap. the silence, i can manage, but cuddles? that’s another story.” his brow furrowed at what she said next. “is that how you think they see you? i probably wouldn’t describe you as ‘poor little emmy’. you’re sweet, but that doesn’t make you incapable of handling yourself, y’know?” he bumped his shoulder off of hers. “and is making me cry over the notebook seriously the way you want to look badass? we're still watching the notebook. i think you can do better than that.” the banter came easily to enzo. he was on a similar level of comfort with emmy as he was with rachel or carter, but in a different way, a difference he couldn’t quite put his finger on. tearing his gaze away from the beautiful blonde that was seated next to him, he tried to focus on the movie. “okay, let me try to guess what will happen, they fall in love. then something happens that makes them think they can’t. then, they realize that no one can really stop them so they end up happily together.” eyes draw back to emmy, he shot her a smile, “am i close?”

cell phone headcanons

the blonde’s core holds home to the purest form of easy ebullience, emmy could have already drawn a carbon copy of the smirk she expected to be cutting against the contours of the male’s face without a single etching of mistake to be found in the sketch. ❛❛ yeah, exactly. i know, i know. it’s too clichéd and all, but i love it regardless. i’m so shocked, you got me. i thought you were going to tell me it was your favorite movie of all time and that you’d seen it a million times just so you could get rid of me. but i’m happy i get to be the one who shows you the roller coaster of emotions that is the notebook, if that is in fact the case here. are you sure you’ve never seen it before or are you just trying to pull the “i’m so tough, what does love mean” act on me? ❜❜ the smaller individual inquired, the tilt of her head adding onto the overall performance of her response. ❛❛ hate to burst your little bubble, enzo; you know i try to keep it alive as much as i can, but i think you’re going to fall in love with this movie no matter what act you try to pull this time—- and of course, there are many reasons why i love it. it’s the best thing next to sliced bread, and that’s all i’m going to say about it. or rather, it’s kinda cheesy, i’ll take that, but the good cheesy, you know? the kind of cheesy i believe it’s possible to actually happen. but uhm… i’m not as naive as i seem, i promise. ❜❜

“there’s nothing wrong with liking the clichéd. who cares what kind of movies you like?” enzo laughed, “actually, i thought about that, but i figured then you’d just come up with another movie. you seem pretty set on spending some time with me, so i’m sure it will be easier to just go along with it.” he put his hands up in surrender, “i promise this isn’t an act, i haven’t seen the movie. and i can know what love means and not feel compelled to watch a completely unbelievable version of it.” he glanced down to meet the smaller girl’s eyes, the smile on his lips not going anywhere while she spoke. “i hope i like it. i'll be pissed if i don't and i wasted my aternoon watching an awful movie,” he lied. enzo couldn’t imagine any time spent with emmy as wasted. it seemed as though the more time he spent with her, the more he wanted to be around her. maybe a part of that was her hopless romantic nature; it was refreshing to be around someone so positive, someone so, well, hopeful. and enzo couldn’t remember the last time he had smiled so much. whatever the reason was, he wasn’t about to dwell on figuring it out; instead, focusing on enjoying his time with her. “the good cheesy? well that settles it, i love it already.” enzo said, his tone lightly mocking. “there’s nothing wrongwith liking this kind of stuff.” he said gesturing to the tv. “or buying into the movie romance or whatever. it doesn’t have to mean you’re naive. but in your case it probably does,” he teased.        

within seconds of him reentering the vehicle, he heard her speak. enzo spun around to get a look at her condition, and upon seeing her curled up in a ball with her eyes shut, he could immediately understand what she was feeling. countless times he had been out and had felt the exact same way carter looked. he understood why she wouldn’t want jace of all people to see her in her condition. “of course. we can go back to my place if you want? you can sleep there if that’s easier.” he knew jace would not be thrilled to get a text at this hour saying carter was with him, but that was the least of his concerns at the time; he could handle jace. enzo waited for the ok from carter before leaving.
