I Came To Info Dump Into The Abyss

I got so little dialogue related to the romance that my only recourse is to conclude that everyone (except Karlach, Wyll and maybe Minthara) were completely ignorant to the romantic subplot. Which frankly makes sense because I don’t think my drow tav is very outwardly affectionate person in public settings. Partly because the relationship feels so fragile and undefined, and partly because I headcanon that Drow don’t generally express romantic affection openly. So the rest of camp probably thought Astarion was doing playful banter and my drow tav was just going along with his antics.

I have to imagine most of their interactions as I kept Wyll at camp most of the time when I wasn’t directly interacting with his or Laezel’s plot. It was simply too exhausting to try and keep him alive in battle. Sorry Wyll, but also you kept missing your attacks so it’s kinda on you.

Maybe someday I’ll do a comic explaining the comedy of errors that lead to my tav romancing Astarion, but for now all I’ll say is that I’m pretty sure that most of the camp didn’t know they were together and those that did thought they were keeping it a secret (they weren’t).

I’m sorry…we exit Cazador mansion with a view of balder gate stretching before us in all its glory…and then Wyll pulls out this line and I’m just…how is this not a more popular ship? Why is the Wyll’zel tag not flooded with fanart! I can’t…just kiss already!

I very much enjoy Karlach, also I think everyone else is the camp is too much of a snob for this joke to work.

Fun fact, I died to the fake paladin of Tyr, then Astarion died trying to get my character back up (as I hadn’t realized I was dead not downed) anyway, my tav and Astarion were beaten to hell (heh) with 2 hit point between them when Mizora showed up and my tav really just wanted this lady out of her camp so she could sleep. Traumatize your warlock on your own time, have some workplace decorum.

Edit: it’s very important for you all to know that there is in fact a Gaston figure in this beauty and the beast tale and he does try to turn the town against the couple.

YAY! I have confirmation that my drow PC can go to elven heaven! I didn’t know this was possible and quite frankly didn’t think it likely but I’ve never been more happy to be wrong. Now someone tell my drow bard this so that she can stop agonizing about it.

I try to put the source book in the tags, so if you’re ever unsure where I found some lore check there. Not all those books are forgotten realms specific, but they are setting neutral as far as I know.

Hello! So I use this app called Scribd (it’s a monthly subscription) which has a library of pdf including older dnd source books. As for links I don’t think I can share them outside of the app, though I do know there are other sight that carry pdfs of older source material, though I’m largely unfamiliar with them. Dang, I kinda wish when I became an adult people gave me the tools of my trade and a house. Would have made the transition to adulthood a lot smoother.

And 3. I just really love how devoted the dnd elves can be. There really is something so poignant about a creature who lives and breathes freedom and individualism giving a small part of that up because they care too much to not let you change them.

We’ve already established that I think the two year pregnancy thing is silly, so let’s just ignore that and focus on the far more interesting fact that apparently elves are given attributes sleeping beauty style?! Excuse me?!

Some of this seems to imply that elves generally have an aversion to body hair, which makes sense for a largely hairless race. I wonder what powerful magics inter species couples are using to have children in the forgotten realms.
