In principal its not a bad idea but in execution its flawed because someone who has built up a full pitstop window will just put on the fastest tires 1-2 laps before the end of the race and just go on a blitz to steal it.

like this is exactly why f1 is dying, this excessive over-regulation, punishing any kind of risk-taking, (especially when there’s no victim, or other negative consequences), no refueling, so interesting fuel strategies can’t add drama?? increasing social media presence isnt going to do shit. this was a horrible stop on the continuing downward trend of the sport.
