Well depends on your stats you first rolled for your character. I mean if you are going for a high damage fast character I recommend an elf thief or rogue because they are swift and wear thin armor so silent too. Dwarves are slow fighters. Humans are just there. Dnd has updated their rules a while back so I recommend looking at the new rule book.
