I remember a couple months ago I got an anon asking me my thoughts on /r Goldendragon and I couldn't sum up my thoughts in any way other than "they would both endure the horrible experience of romance for the other" but also realized that this probably wasn't what the anon was looking to hear from me when they asked me about a ship they presumably enjoyed in some capacity, so I couldn't like actually say that. It is true they would both hate being romantically involved with one another, but crucially WOULD do so if the other's life depended on it. Which probably isn't the greatest basis for a relationship to be predicated upon but it is my truth.

Also I'm gonna be honest, I think that if Red Son got the Samadhi fire in 03*10 or whatever like so many people want, I think Mk would have just left him lol

I am frequently overcome by the temptation to say things along the tune of "Mk and Red Son don't care about each other/Dont have a relationship with one another/&c." in order to spite the Spicynoodles shippers (a phenomena occurring entirely from people not caring about female characters) But the truth is, I think they are friends, and I think the apex of their dynamic is that Mk sees himself in Red Son (And more or less treats DBK as synonymous with Pigsy) and tends to use Red Son and his fraught-but-healing relationship with DBK as a vessel to vicariously live out his idealized domestic father/son relationship with Pigsy without having to directly confront his own desires (which is why he's so fixated upon DBK, à la his "...Sorry, daddy, sorry..." moment with him ), BUT I don't really enjoy acknowledging this because I feel like this creates a horrible world where Spicynoodles fans move on their entirely hallucinated and flanderized yaoi, to interpreting them as a distorted and twisted facsimile of the canonical dynamic which to me is probably worse, because there technically is *something* there (even if it is 100% not what the average Tumblr fandomite is looking for in their ships and isn't a meaningful interpersonal relationship for either of the two parties), so I can't really rebuke it without discharitably promoting a reading I disagree with, even if we all know Spicynoodles is the devil. Also like the thing is, Red Son specifically isn't very important to Mk's thing going on here, because what's attractive to Mk is the father/son relationship. Mk's kind of just using him to indulge his emotional needs and wants w/o really being invested in Red Son's interiority beyond registering him as a reflection of himself
