SHE WAS NOTHING BUT LOVE.

Okay, so Vegas hadn’t had that much to drink, honestly. Besides, it wasn’t as if the girl had never drank any alcohol before in her life – she lived in Montreal! They’re all French-Canadian! They practically bleed wine. However, Vegas’ alcohol tolerance wasn’t exactly the greatest, and she had come across some rather excited and enabling friends along the way, and soon she found herself wandering the boat having lost her shoes and her way. 

“Oh – why did this boat have to be so big?”

     “The Zabini’s tend to either go big or go home,” Jane smiled, “what happened to your shoes, if I may ask??”

Julian just nodded, accepting her offer and keeping his head down now to see if that made his feel any better. But his mind buzzed with questions – that always happened when he was panicking. But the first one came to his lips, even though his throat was taut. “How do you have this on your person?”

It seemed like a reasonable question – was this something that people carried around all the time? Maybe the girl was from Aquaria or Cakrawala or something; definitely not from UIM though…

     “Well, that depends if you’d like the long story or the short story,” Jane replied calmly after handing him the pasty. She crossed her arms but kept her focus on the person in front of her. It wasn’t a question she was unused to answering -- Jane usually ALWAYS came prepared for her surroundings. She figured it would not only help her but help other people, which was one of her goals in life. 

     “I can be a rambler at times, so, fair warning, the short story may become the long one.”

Julian was seasick. The boat itself was magically stable, but there was something about being so far from shore that was sickening to him. He slipped away from the edges of the boat, pressing himself against a wall and praying that Ethan will come. 

Ethan was amicable enough, to say the least, even though Julian was the one who decided to stay in the states. He wasn’t sure if the guilt or the seasickness was more overpowering, and he stared straight in front of him as he moved sideways along the wall of the yacht.

“Fuck – sorry.” It was an absentminded apology to the person he bumped into.

     “It’s really okay, it’s rather hard to navigate this boat, isn’t it?? Even if it is charmed, you can’t help your brain seeing all the water,” Jane said quickly, moving a few steps back from where they had collided. Inspecting the person she had collided into, he looked NERVOUS. At least, she figured anyone who was by themselves out there was. 

            “Anti-Sea Sickness pasty?? They taste like caramel.”

Akira couldn’t stop twiddling around with the necklace around her neck, pulling and twisting the red string usually hidden underneath the collar of her school uniform. She couldn’t stop glancing around and feeling as though she was being watched. She never liked big crowds, especially when she was in the center of it. Declan had disappeared after they walked in and she hadn’t really seen Anna since they landed in front of Maladh. She was lost in thought when someone coughed over her shoulder. She jumped, dropping her hands and turning around with red cheeks. “Sorry, am I in your way?”

     “Oh!! No!! I’ve just had a really bad cough, I think it may be my allergies,” looking at her, Jane could recognize that look as if it was her own -- though she was lucky that the excitement engulfed her more than the homesickness or anxiety. “I’m Jane. It is a PLEASURE to cough over your shoulder.”

“oh, jane, we won’t be shot——probably not. i think it’s just supposed to be a funny—–funny sign, you know, gives the place character!” taking jane’s hand, she pulled her into the shop. “james’ birthday is coming up soon and i have to find something that fits him just right!”

While Jane didn’t think it was the least bit funny or that the store was trying to make a joke -- she wasn’t just about to let Annie go alone. Jane decided to follow Annette into the store, besides, it was for a good cause -- James’ birthday. One of the first ones that almost all the cousins & extended family would be there for. “Okay, okay, I’ll come, fine, okay, you’re right we need to find the PERFECT thing. I think we’d better not get him any clothes, how about, a scrapbook?? Though, I’m not sure he’s a big scrapbooker.”

“Really, Albus, we need to stick with ‘marco polo’ because you sounded a bit creepy there. Sort of like when we watched some of those muggle HORROR films.”

Immediately, Jane blushed, “uh, I said I wanted to be there in case you were to hurt yourself!! Mistakes can be fixed!! I’m EXCELLENT at fixing them!!”

after the bonfire incident, scorpius had decided to take a walk, shoving the drinks that he’d meant for annette and himself in other’s hands before he left. he was angry, hurt, confused at why he felt so…betrayed? a huff left him as he plopped down in the sand, laying back so that he’d get a full view of the stars that were miraculously still visible despite the city lights. he searched the constellations one by one until his eyes grew heavy. with the sound of the ocean lapping against the shore and sleepiness that came with being drunk, he fell asleep. it wasn’t long before the sound of someone’s voice woke him with a start. “hm?” his eyes opened wide, trying to find the source wishing for just five more minutes. “’m not asleep…promise.”

“You’re not asleep, Scorpius?? Hmm, I’ll take your word for it but, you’re going to get a cold if you stay out here too long. I know it’s fairly warm, but desert temperatures are infamous for going very very low at night,” though, she still decided to sit next to him, her mind preoccupied with thoughts of home and impressions of her new classmates. Jane knew it would be rude to keep talking to someone who was obviously trying to sleep, but her anxieties made it IMPOSSIBLE for her to keep her mouth shut. Plus, he was Annette’s boyfriend which practically meant he was family -- at least to her. “D’you think we’ll be able to visit our parents?? Or have them come here??”
