WE HAVE NO APOLOGIES FOR BEING

He lowered his camera, as it had been poised and at the ready; Ted couldn’t quite understand her hesitance, but then again the minds of girls, and what deemed appropriate appearance, had always been an enigma. He thought she looked lovely. Nodding, he offered her an encouraging smile, “Looking lovely, and fully in the holiday spirit – if that’s what you mean. Y’can say no of course, if you really don’t want me to – I understand. But I think y’look positively lovely.”

At his kind words, the brunette’s lips curled into a smile too wide to hide. She instinctively tucked a strand of haird behind her ear before her eyes met his. “ I’d never come across someone wanting to put together such a peculiar present, ” she surmised. “ I still think it’s a nice detail, nonetheless. I’ll comply, ” Margot shrugged, her smile becoming less pronounced, yet lingering in a way.

“this one it is then. Especially with a description like that.” Emmeline smiled as Margot held her dress up, watching the girl’s face light up. “You’ll look fantastic in that Marg.” She said happily, glad to be going to the ball with her.

“ You’ll look stunning, there’s nothing to worry about, ” Margot nudged Emmeline in the most gentle manner. An amused smile spread across her lips. “ Why, thank you. However, I’m pretty sure all eyes will fall upon you. ”

Emmeline smiled, plopping down on the edge of her four poster. “But which one do you like better?” She asked. “Wait- are we supposed to coordinate? What are you wearing love?”

“ Honestly ? ” Margot arched an eyebrow, scanning at Emmeline from head to toe. “ RED, ” she pointed at it, her lips curling into a grin. “ It contrasts nicely with your skin. Red’s the color of passion, love, anger ---- and adventure, ” she chuckled. 

   alejandro didn’t think anyone would know him around here–part of him was praying that no one would notice him if he was being honest. but he spoke up. “yeah, that’d be me.” he confirmed, thankful that she didn’t go on and on at him. his attitude on the pitch was loud and obnoxious compared to how shy and quiet he was in real life. “wow, thank you… uh..” he trailed off, as if waiting for her to interject with her name. “and thank you for showing me the way. i ‘ppreiciate it.”

“ Aha, ” she replied simply, briefly shifting her attention to finding the page of her book she’d left off. “ It’s--I’m Margot, ” the brunette shrugged, sending one last smile his way. “ It’s nothing. Oh, uh... Gryffindor’s hosting tryouts, if you’re interested in joining their quidditch team. And I’m sure McGonagall would be glad to give you a map. ” 

   nodding slowly at the small reminder of where her office would be, he repeated it a few times in his head, hoping he would remember it. it was just hard for him navigating around when english wasn’t his first language, when he was incredibly shy and didn’t like talking to anyone. “me?? spain.” alejandro spoke, a small smile remaining. “seville to be exact.”

After going down the hall, she turned left, not saying anything during that part. Her pace became slower then, stopping completely as they came across a staircase. “ Are you the student who plays for the Spanish National Quidditch Team ?! ” her factions lit up with a mixture of admiration, excitement and curiosity. Margot wasn’t a quidditch player herself, but she’d studied tactics from a handful of european teams alongside Hogwarts’s teams. She made an attempt not shoot off at the mout & start bombarding him with questions right there, keeping her lips pressed instead while a faint smile remained. “ I’ve studied your tactics, and they are utterly BRILLIANT. ” She cleared her throat, motioning at the stairs afterwards. She saw no point in holding him back when they’d arrived to their destination. “ The office is upstairs. You should knock three times before entering, though. ” 

   he was smiling at the attempt to speak spanish back to him, his lips curling to restrict it as his eyes floated to the ground. he hadn’t made an impression on hogwarts yet—because he was so quiet and withdrawn. he didn’t want to cause anymore trouble. alejandro just followed behind margot, keeping his mouth shut as if he was a lost puppy following its owner. “…thank you.” ale whispered after a few seconds of silence, his hands behind his back as he walked tall. his posture was practically impeccable and he wasn’t lowering his standards for anyone here.

“ You’re welcome, ” Margot replied, turning back to face him, a courteous smile lighting up her expression. The situation made the smile remain -- she’d helped a handful of first years find their way around in the past, but the last case had been quite a while back. “ So, where are you from?” her logic figured that if a person called out to you in a foreign language, said person was not from around. “ McGonagall’s office is a small room that overlooks the Training Grounds and the Quidditch Pitch, ” the brunette explained as she kept moving, with the aims that, would he ever want to find the office again, he’d remember the small tip.
