I try to keep my opinions about Jess Mariano to myself because I donât want to get my head bitten off on this site. Also as I grow older I honestly feel less like getting on my soap box about him especially since I like Jess in the revival. Jess grew up to be a pretty good guy.
But can yaâll keep Pacey Witter out of the same sentence as Jess. They are literally nothing alike.Â
1. Parents love Pacey I.e. Andieâs mom, Audreyâs parents, Mr and Mrs Leery, probably any other parents who would get to know Pacey. Parents hate Jess for good reason honestly. Heâs the type whoâs a bad influence on your child.
2. Pacey is a sweet charming gem, who spreads his sweetness and charm to everyone. To Jen, to Dawson, to Jack, to Joey and to just about everyone else. Jess is only nice to Rory. Which I get why teenagers would get heart palpitations about that. But I just think itâs assholey to be mean to everyone but one person.
3. Pacey would never get rapey with his girlfriend at a party! Pacey would never get sexual with Joey and then when he gets pushed off bite her head off and insinuate it was her fault for coming into the room. Yeah, iâll bring up âKeg! Max!â cause of some of yaâll have conveniently blocked it out.
4. Pacey does not particularly like to read which reading is a big part of Jessâ personality. The only time Pacey likes to read is when Joey and he are reading to each other.
5. Pacey is a friend and ally to women and a feminist icon. He would never ask Joey to drop out of college to be with him. In fact, the opposite. Pacey would ask her to cut him loose so that she could realize her dream and live the life sheâs meant to live.
Again I donât hate Jess in current day but it just makes me tired all over when people act like they are so much alikeâŚ. they truly arenât! The only possible similarity is that they both donât care about school.
