it is genuinely bewildering to me that adult human beings do not know this but if you are mean to people they will not like you. like tbh they are probably also not going to like you if you are mean to other people but they are definitely not going to like you if you are mean to them. it doesn’t matter if you are funny or if you can use r/aita rules to prove that you are in the right. people simply so not enjoy being treated like shit.

I believe in gentle parenting. Unfortunately many people refuse to parent their child at all under the guise of gentle parenting. Sometimes you’ve got to look your fourth grader in the eye and say “Little dude, that was an asshole move.”

Perhaps the world of 2044 will be as different from ours as 1979 now seems from our present time. But let us also echo this wish into the future— may they have peace and happiness.

are you ever like damn why is literally everyone else scared of openly communicating and being direct and truthful and honest

i'm kind of bored of subliminal messaging or vaguing or being anything but truthful and blunt and forthright. every miscommunication that has ever befallen me is a result of jumping to conclusions or not giving the benefit of the doubt or just not being open to hearing the other side. i am so bored. i just want communication. i want straightforwardness. i want here is why i'm bothered. here are the facts. here's what i think. now tell me your side. let's talk about this. let's start a dialogue. there's no reason for either of us to be guessing. languages were meticulously crafted over the years for a reason. so let's use them! let's talk! let's communicate!

btw you can be straightforward AND kind. i'm not sure why people seem to think it's one way or the other. either way a lot of people need to not only internalize this mentality but practice it bc i feel like so many people are willing to BURN BRIDGES ??? rather than just communicate and be honest. and some people don't communicate and end up fostering resentment and bitterness and dislike for the other person that cause them to snap out of nowhere and the other person is like ?? bc guess what. it was NEVER commuicated

does life suck or do you just need to hang out with your friends and laugh until your tummy hurts real bad?

my advice for not going insane? try to do something every weekend. go to events, you’ll love events. and not like just hang out with ur friends or go clubbing , no, make a day out of going to some local market by yourself or attend some strange convention event you’ve never heard of. i cannot stress the importance of doing random events on a friday night or saturday or a sunday at r pm for mentally ill people especially if you’re depressed and have been searching for an anchor 2 tether yourself to. attend some events now
