In July of 1975, Reprise Records released Fleetwood Mac’s self-titled album, the first to feature new members Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, joining Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, and Christine McVie. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart more than a year after it’s release and went on to be RIAA-certified 5X platinum. The band (and canine friend) are shown at the gold record celebration for ‘Fleetwood Mac’.

“To me, the music is writing songs, and that is to be able to write something that maybe at a time in somebody else’s life (when) they need a little help or a little inspiration or something, that they would sit down and listen to something that I wrote, it would just either make them feel a little better or they’d be able to go ‘yeah, somebody else’s been there too’, and that helps me.”
