thank you for normalizing this it makes my life easier

yesterday I was stocking the beer fridge at the front by the register it’s actually so fun I get to go in the huge fridge in back and count how many I need and I can turn my music up all the way since I’m in the back but anyways I was filling the fridge and a tourist couple said to me “excuse me can I get in there?” So I say “oh yeah” and I move my cart out of the way and stand to the side while I wait for them to finish selecting their drinks when I head the wife say to her husband in a mocking tone “well of course you’re the customer!” So I just decide to play nice and say “have a good day” once I’m done and walking away but she goes out of her way to follow me around the corner and say “we’ll just see if everyone else is a rude as you!” So I’m like “oh I’m sorry did I do something?” And she says to me “you gave me rudeness just now when I asked you to move.” And I said “I’m sorry? You asked me to move and i did?” And she says again “well you gave me rudeness I said excuse me and you didn’t say anything back to me.” And so I just said to her “do you need me to baby you? You’re an adult.” And I walked away lolol I admit it was a bit of a bitchy response but genuinely what did you expect from me? I’m here doing my job which is stocking the freezer my job is not to hold your hand while I open the fridge and grab the beer for you and tuck you in at night. Grow the fuck up.

like I was just talking about the other day so often I’m doing my job or even just trying to make conversation because it’s fun and customers ignore my questions or interrupt me and cut me off as if i’m some sort of npc who’s dialogue they can just skip and it’s like whatever I just have to put up with it but the second I let my guard down and I’m not performing for you the almighty customer I’m so rude that it warrants you to makw two mean comments about it even after I pretended I didn’t hear the first one. And you’re a tourist in my little town where I actually live and go to work also. Fuck you
