i’ve said it before but i wish vaginas didn’t cost money
you literally can not have a vagina without paying for it. vaginoplasty for some, period products for others, if you want to stop buying period products that’s gonna be expensive medicine or an expensive procedure, recovery from surgery requires time off work and vaginoplasty specifically requires money spent on dilators. our bodies shouldnt cost us this much on baseline. having a vagina shouldnt have such a hefty tax on it. it makes me feel like i’m in a fictional dystopia written for middle school classrooms when i think about it.
Other than misogyny, a major reason doctors deny sterilization procedures until you've had a child or are a certain age is because they are one of the very very few things in the US healthcare system that insurance pays 100% of, and so it's a lot of work for doctors to even get them approved. That being said, I got my tubes tied in Texas in 2019? ish? and didn't pay a single fucking cent about it, which is kind of incredible.
Also menstrual cups and reusable pads are incredible and I would never go back to buying single use period products.
Those things said, I of course still agree you can't have a vagina without paying for it. If teeth are luxury bones, vaginas are luxury genitals. I'm just trying to save the vagina havers a little money where I can.
