There are - Carla Kettner (also a producer), Marisa Tam, Taylor Martin this season (at least). There were others in past seasons.  I’m not sure that’s really the point.

What is the point is whether Liz has grown as a character and I’m sorry - I have to disagree with your premise that she hasn’t.  I think she HAS grown, maybe not in the way some would prefer.  Believe me I have had my moments I’d like to thrash her when she’s singularly focused only on the past.  (Or when she inexplicably forgives Tom for everything he’s ever done).  I hate when her answers about her past are more important to her than what is happening in the present.

But Liz operates at a perpetual information disadvantage.  From Red, from Tom… she’s always catching up and trying to figure out what the men in her life are hiding from her.  FINALLY this season she is getting there.  She profiled not only Red but the whole damn Task Force this past episode.  Did she play on their emotions?  Absolutely.  As she said to Force Ghost Tom - he taught her how to do that (ouch).  But Liz has grown.  The Liz of S1 accepted whatever those she loved or liked told her.  The Liz of S5 - not so much.  She understands now that Red has secrets despite his love for her.  She’s building her own team to figure out why.

Look - I think Liz’s relationship with Tom was incredibly damaging to her character.  Liz became a kind of reactionary doormat for a while.  I wish to this day that she had pulled one over on Tom like she did on Red.  I think her character desperately needed that empowerment (and not in the chains on the boat way).  And I think the fandom would have cheered her if her antagonist this season had been Tom rather than Red.  If Liz had figured out he had something going on behind her back before he died.  It’s really unfortunate that the writers loved his character (it seems) too much to allow her that moment.  But I feel like Liz is creeping out of those ashes now and she’s done with standing in the shadows. She’s done with not having control of her life.  So now that’s being directed at Red and not Tom and while I wish that had been different (because Tom deserved this wrath for SEASONS), she does have a right to be furious with Red right now for allowing her to believe he was her father for well over a year.  Maybe even 2 in this ambiguous timeline.

I am NOT a fan of the Liz who stews people.  But the Liz who engineers her own escape from the Post Office with a Blacklister without Cooper as the ear piece in her ear?  Yes please.  That Liz, I like.  The one who remembers how Red manipulated Kaplan using her as bait and turns the tables.  I’m very excited for Liz to finally know something Red doesn’t next season - because he doesn’t know that she figured out his secret - and to see how she plays that.  How far will she push him?  There is a LOT of potential there.  I want Liz and Red to face off more equally in the end.  All cards on the table.  She has a right to know why he assumed her father’s identity.  And I think in the end they will unite because she will understand and accept his purpose.  But she needs to figure it out for herself and not wait for him to tell her (because he doesn’t WANT to tell her).  I love both of them.  I have faith they will get there.

The person coming to and seeing what they’ve done

I could go on about this trope alone for 5 hours

A last desperate “I love you!” 

A tearful, hard kiss before battle, bonus points if its a confessional kiss

“Please, I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
