Heyo, I was wondering about the witch bottle/jar and if something like that only works when I am at home? I work in front of and around people; even if I bury the witch bottle at home, does its protection extend to when I am not there or do I need to use something else? Is the witch bottle buried at home because if someone sends a spell to harm you or make your life hard, it will find you in a vulnerable place, i.e. the home?
The traditional witch bottle is not meant to be a personal protection. It protects your home from attack. So no, that protection does not extend to you no matter where you are. It is important to have a safe haven where you can retreat, and this is the benefit of home protection spells; but carrying personal protections is always good if you desire extra protection.
To understand why the witch bottle is effective you need to understand a bit about how magic works. The reason witches need taglocks to target people is because magic wonât âjust knowâ how to reach you. If I tell my friend, âgo over to Bill Thurmonâs house,â my friend will be like âthatâs cool but I have no idea where he lives or how to contact him.â Magic is similar - the witch needs the knowledge or skill to correctly target their victim.
If you read different curses, a common instruction is to face the location of where the target lives - a location they will be sure to return to some time soon.Â
Your home is also a place filled with your energy, and if a spell is seeking you out it is sure to be attracted to your place of dwelling.Â
The witch bottle is intended to capture these spells and destroy them. If a malicious spell is directed at your home, the witch bottle should capture it - but if you receive something nasty outside of your home, the protection is not extended to you.
Todayâs Witch is an adorable little Light Witch with her lantern.
Sheâll light the path.Â

Witch Jar Alternative
Witches jars are a method of protection that arenât environmentally friendly. Iâve come up with a simple solution to the problem and have found a method I much prefer to jars.
Material Suggestions:
Wooden stick or stakes ( I have 4 one on each corner of my property).
Blood, Spit, Hair, Urine
Yarn, twine, beads
Paint, markers, knives
A hammer, brick, rock
What to Do:
This is up to you but here are some suggestions:
Take the stake and coat it in your blood, spit, urine and hair.
Wrap the yarn around to keep these parts of yourself attached.
Personal sigils, markings, or drawings can be used to decorate the stake. Carvings can also help.
Bead magic and yarn magic can also be applied.
Once youâve added the personal elements to the stakes or sticks you just drive them into the earth instead of burying the jar. This way youâre doing minimal damage to the earth and youâre still protecting yourself. I also feel like the land can absorb these parts of you easier than if they were contained in a jar. In this way magic would be deflected and youâd be protect from curses or hexes.Â
Replace the stakes once they are warn and broken down.
This is by far THE greatest solution to Witch Jars / Bottles that I have ever found. Goodness. You are a genius love <3

YASSS
Just an fyi, if you sent an oracle reading request after I posted I was done accepting more requests and was also stopping for the night and going to bed, I just straight up deleted your ask.
I did free readings last night too and posted a several times that I was done! I got like 4 messages at 5am est asking for readings
-_________-
What I usually do is that Iâll go back to the original post and either delete it or edit it to say that readings are over. For me this cut down on a lot of people asking for readings when I had made separate post stating that they were closed.
Granted youâll still get a few request that want to know of theyâll be an exception
mydeviantmoon, in the past I have deleted the original post, striked through the original post and added âREADINGS CLOSEDâ, and in general stated the fact that readings are closed endlessly. Iâve never seen much difference whatever Iâve done. :/
I don't get many requests but I've found changing the ask title to READINGS CLOSED helps some

Good Luck Knot Magic
A super fast knot spell for good luck.
Find yourself some red, white, yellow/gold, blue, and green string (or ribbon, yarn, embroidery thread, whatever).Â
Cut them into about 10 inch pieces. Ideally, the string should wrap around your wrist or ankle plus 2-3 inches, depending on the thickness of your knotting material. So 10 inches might be too much. Try to overestimate rather than underestimate.
Hold the threads together and make a knot with all of them saying/thinking/etc. âWith this knot the spellâs begunâ
Make a knot in the red string. âThis knot is for luck.â
Make a knot in the yellow/gold string. âThis knot is for wealth and prosperity.â
Make a knot in the blue string âThis knot is for protectionâ
Make a knot in the green string. âThis knot is for growth.â
Make a knot in the white string. âThis knot is for preservation.â
Knot all the threads together. âAnd this knot is to bring it all together and bring this lucky boon to me.â
Then tie the cord around your wrist or ankle. Or you can carry it with you.
Ideally, you should be envisioning your intent while doing the spell but Iâve done this spell drunk at a bar with zero envisioning and only white packing twine and it worked great.Â
Storm Water
Storms are powerful and devastating things. They destroy crops and harm livestock. Many people would create charms to protect those and theirs from the power of storms. Because of their destructive and unpredictable nature storm water is very useful in chaotic magic, curses, and even in protection magic if used in such a manner.
Harnessing storm water is simple enough, leave a container out during a storm to collect it. I personally am very fond of glass containers as they are easy to acquire, wonât rust, and are typically easy to seal and save.
You can use the water to consecrate bones, tools, or crystals. I personally am fond of using storm water for sea witchcraft.Â
Some ways to use the water:
Spread the water along the outside of your property. Any who enter with harmful intent will disturb this ring of a storm.Â
Protect your garden in a similar manner (though I would be hesitant to actually water plants with storm water as the outcome is uncertain).
Windowsills and doorways are also great places for protection magic.
Curses that need good bases can always depend on storm water.
Enchanting jewelry or spell books with storm water for protection or curses is also a suggestion.
Coat a page in storm water and then write your curse.
Storms can be devastating but they are also beautiful and powerful things. In their wake there is always rebirth, whether rebuilding or replanting. This is something to bear in mind when using storm water. There is a cycle of life and death and storms are merely a small part of it.
Magical Powders
To make magical powders, state what each ingredient is for before dropping it into the bowl, and then you will invision your desire while grinding the ingredients together. You can light a white candle or a colored candle corresponding to your intent while grinding if you wish.
Anger Powder - Chili powder, black pepper, basil, sulfur, and/or angelica. -To use: Sprinkle around a room to overcome feelings of irritation and anger, avert future fights, and cleanse the mind of negative thoughts.
Angel Powder - Lavender, sandalwood, angelica, orange peel, frankincense, a few drops of holy water (moon or spring water will work too). -To use: Brings forth the essence of angels, protects from negative spirits, cleanses, and helps to overcome curses. Allow to dry completely before use.
Banishing Powder - Bay leaves, cinnamon, rose petals, myrrh, salt, a few drops of red wine (optional). -To use: Banishes negative spirits and energies. Allow to dry completely before use.
Drawing Powder - Jasmine, violet, lavender. -To use: Helps attract good luck, good energies, and helps to quiet the nerves. Rub on hands and sprinkle on altar before calling spirits. Can be used in luck, wish, happiness, attraction, and money spells.
Flying Powder - Lemon peel, myrrh, frankincense. -To use: Sprinkle under the bed to aid in astral travel, lucid dreaming, and meditation.
Sweet Spirit Powder - Cinnamon, vanilla, patchouli, lavender, gardenia, vetivert. -To use: Attracts good spirits and aids in bringing forth psychic powers. Rub on your body (or mix a small amount with oil and anoint yourself) and sprinkle on you altar. Mix with holy water or oil to anoint candles. Use in a sachet to attract good spirits to your home.
Success Powder - Frankincense, vetivert, sandalwood, gold glitter (optional). -To use: Attracts success and abundance, stops gossip. Use on candles and altars when casting spells for jobs, luck, Â and prosperity.Â
*Tips:
If you donât have all the ingredients, itâs ok. You can substitute with an ingredient of the same properties. You donât need all the ingredients. You can use more or less, depending on your preferences and what you have on hand.
You can store the powders in a jar with a clear quartz crystal for more power and keep it energetically fresh. When you run out, make sure to cleanse the crystal of the powderâs energies, so you can use it again for other things.
You can use these powders in sachets, put a bit in oil to anoint candles or yourself, sprinkle around the room or on altars, bury items in a bowl of the powder to charm the item.
Do NOT ingest these powders! You can look at my tea tag and find teas for your need if thatâs more your thing.

âRhiannonâ by Briar
In Welsh mythology, Rhiannon is a horse goddess depicted in the Mabinogion. She is similar in many aspects to the Gaulish Epona, and later evolved into a goddess of sovereignty who protected the king from treachery. Rhiannon was married to Pwyll, the Lord of Dyfed. When Pwyll first saw her, she appeared as a golden goddess upon a magnificent white horse. Rhiannon managed to outrun Pwyll for three days, and then allowed him to catch up, at which point she told him sheâd be happy to marry him, because it would keep her from marrying Gwawl, who had tricked her into an engagement.
Rhiannon and Pwyll conspired together to fool Gwawl in return, and thus Pwyll won her as his bride. Most of the conspiring was likely Rhiannonâs, as Pwyll didnât appear to be the cleverest of men. In the Mabinogion, Rhiannon says of her husband, âNever was there a man who made feebler use of his wits.â After Pwyllâs death, Rhiannon married Manawyden. Her name, Rhiannon, derives from a Proto-Celtic root which means âgreat queen,â and by taking a man as her spouse, she grants him sovereignty as king of the land. In addition, Rhiannon possesses a set of magical birds, who can soothe the living into a deep slumber, or wake the dead from their eternal sleep.
Primarily, though, Rhiannon is associated with the horse, which appears prominently in much of Welsh and Irish mythology. Many parts of the Celtic world â Gaul in particular â used horses in warfare, and so it is no surprise that these animals turn up in the myths and legends or Ireland and Wales. Scholars have learned that horse racing was a popular sport, especially at fairs and gatherings, and for centuries Ireland has been known as the center of horse breeding and training.
