A few days ago I got fired by my therapist because she doesn’t have time to treat me. I’ve honestly been very bummed, but I want to cheer myself up a little bit and do some art.

I know i’ve been away for a while, but it’s because I haven’t been sure how to react to everything. I’m new to the fandom, and as a newbie it was really upsetting to me to see this stuff with that ren guy and feel comfortable. I’m like ok, who can I trust? Whose still on that guy’s side? it kind of Freaks me out and idk if I can be part of a fandom that has these kind of issues.
Secondly, I saw a lot of stuff about art theft and tracing. some of the people who have been defending it liked my art, and like gosh I don’t want my art to get stolen. I work really hard on that. So, I’m gonna delete my photos and leave the fandom. Some of you were really nice! but I dont want to risk My art being claimed by somebody else. Thanks for being good to me.

It has been ten years since March 11th, 2011, when Japan went through a cataclysmic earthquake, followed by a massive tsunami that has destroyed much of Northeast Japan. Thousands of lives were lost, homes were destroyed, and the effects of the disaster are still very real, and can be felt today.

Nagisa’s last memory of his brother haunts him to this day. It’s one of the reasons he won’t stop looking, no matter how difficult or dangerous things become. After all... He owes Jacob at least that much.
Nagisa watches as his brother wraps daisy stems around themselves, weaving green and purple together in a circular shape. The older boy’s calloused fingers are littered with beige band-aids, fabric worn at the edges and smudges of black ink marking his sun-tanned skin. Sleeves rolled up to his elbows, dedication glimmering in his blue eyes, he works with his bottom lip tucked slightly into his teeth. Nagisa wonders if Jacob does everything with that look in his eyes, and if that enthusiasm is what his professors see in him.
Nagisa wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t. Their father never seemed to, no matter how hard Jacob worked or how late he studied.
“Hand me another of those, will you?”
The smaller of the boys nods, getting up from where he squats in the grass to reach for another sprig of lavender. He gets right back down where he’d been as he hands it over, watching intently over Jacob’s arm. Jacob slides it expertly into place, the ghost of a pleased smile settling on his face.
“Almost done.”
Nagisa shifts nervously.
“You’re not going to get in trouble, are you?” He asks without really meaning to, the words tumbling out of him all at once. His voice is smaller and more frightened that he intended, and immediately his brows screw tightly together above the bridge of his button nose.
Jacob looks at him with a mixture of wide-eyed surprise and cloudy confusion, before offering a sympathetic smile. His smile is warm and easy, his eyes melting into comforting, shallow pools. It’s not like their father’s, thin and strained with an ice-hard gaze. Jacob never scrutinizes him, never expects anything from him.
It’s soothing, and Nagisa is reassured before Jacob even speaks.
“No, I’m not. What makes you think I get in trouble?”
“Because father yells at you. And then your mum yells at him.”
“Does she ever yell at you?”
“Sometimes, but I don’t really mind it. She’s right.”
Jacob pauses, twisting a stem back and forth between the pads of his index finger and thumb. He thinks deeply about that for a moment. Nagisa can tell he’s thinking deeply, because his gaze becomes more serious and grows farther away, trained on something that isn’t in his lap.
“...Does it make you angry, too?” The younger boy asks softly, heart starting to pound in his ears as he holds his breath.
“No, it doesn’t. I’m going to do something brilliant at Hogwarts, and then he won’t have any choice but to look at me.”
Jacob smiles at him again, and suddenly the summer sun has returned, warm on their backs. The birds in the garden keep singing, and Nagisa lets that breath slip from him with a sigh.
“You can, Jacob! I know you can!” The younger boy cheers, hushed, his hands balling into fists on his knees.
Jacob grins, a wide grin that nearly reaches his ears, and he lifts the crown of lavender to set it upon Nagisa’s blond head.
“Sure I can--and when you come to Hogwarts, you’ll do grand things, too.”
“Brilliant!” Nagisa chirps, beaming up at him. He reaches up to touch the flowers resting over his hair with careful fingers, amber eyes glittering.
“Brilliant.” Jacob returns, quietly, his face running with light.

I’ve been wondering recently if paint/coloring pens are any good/what brands are best. Traditional artwork is easier for me because i can have better control over my hands and my tremor doesn’t interfere as much... anyone out there have experience?
