it indeed is western/european centric, Iām sorry for that, but for other cultures I simply donāt have so many references
ALSO note that most of the pictures show historical clothing from the upper classes or more festive clothing of the lower/working class because normal working clothes wouldnāt survive for such a long time, and the clothes were often re-used over and over again!

Okay, so we all know the Mega Man comic is going on hiatus. A lot of people are afraid that thatās just a fancy way of saying itās cancelled without actually saying itās cancelled. So Iāve got some advice.
If you want to have more Mega Man comics, BUY THEM. Buy the last three issues, #53-55. Buy them like hell. Pop out to your local comic shop, purchase digital versions from Comixology, do whatever. Just buy them.
Itās $3.99 for each comic, for one issue a month, for three months. Anyone can afford that. You can save the money for that literally just by skipping lunch once or twice.
Well, I say anyone, but there are probably people who genuinely canāt. For any such people, they should still email Archie about it. Make your voice heard and all that jazz. People who are buying the comics should probably also do this, anyway.
So, do you understand why we should be doing this? Because it proves to Archie and Capcomās higher-ups that Mega Man is profitable, and therefore, that they should keep making Mega Man stuff. (This is also why you should buy Legacy Collection, even if it is pretty lame)
See, we, as in the Mega Man fandom, have a bit of a problem.Ā
Weāre bad at putting our money were our mouth is. All the time, we complain about how there isnāt anything Mega Man, and how Capcom is ignoring it. But then, when there is something Mega Man, we barely buy it, because itās not quite what we wanted. And, even if we think what weāre saying isĀ āNo, we want Legends 3/ZX3/whateverā, the only message that sends to Capcom is that Mega Man isnāt profitable. And what that means, is that Capcom will keep ignoring it. See what Iām getting at here?
Ian Flynn, the comicās writer, pointed it out once or twice. The specific example he used was that if even half of the people supporting 100 000 Strong for MML3 (which, for reference, is not actually 100 000. At the time, Iām pretty sure it wasnāt even half that) were to all buy the comics, he could have easily convinced Archie to let him do an MMX comic. But they didnāt, so instead of having two comics, weāre getting no comics.
Iām sorry if this sounds like Iām saying the entire fandom does it, or that Iām not sometime guilty myself. That would be unfair and untrue, and is not what Iām trying to say at all.
If you could reblog this, spread it around, thatād be great. If not, thatās fine too.
Reblog if you've never had a New Years kiss

Do you want to talk about how underpaid teachers are?
I get paid $44,000 a year, give or take, which is actually higher than many districts in my area.Ā
Assume, for a moment, that my job wasā¦just babysitting. (Itās not, of course, but letās assume.) And Letās assume that Iām a REALLY REALLY cheap babysitter. Letās say I charge $5 an hour per kid. Below minimum wage.Ā
Letās ASSUME that Iām only at school from 8am to 4pm. (Iām not. Iām really there from 7 to at LEAST 5, sometimes later, but weāll assume.) So 8 hours a day, per kid.Ā
Letās ASSUME that I have an average of 25 kids in my room at a time. (I donāt. Last year my largest class was 29 students. The Science teachers regularly had in the mid 30s. But weāre assuming)
Letās say that the only days I actually get paid are days when there are children in the classroom- 180. (Not including staff development or summer training or work I do on the weekends.)Ā
$5 and hour X 8 hours a Ā day x 25 kids at a time x 180 days in a year = $180,000
If I got paid $5 per hour per kid to baby sit, I should get $180,000.
I get $44,000.Ā
Be nice to your teachers.Ā
THIS shit is important. Reform this, not minimum wage
No. Reform BOTH. Put everyone on a basic universal income system. Raise the standard of living for everyone.Ā
And don't even mention teachers in third world countries. Im a university teacher and I get $150 for 20 hours in a month and I have to attend 40+ students in the classroom... (And I'm teaching Spanish writing... Can you imagine how many tests and papers I have to check? And how much time that's going to take me?! AND I'm not the teacher with the biggest group! There are teachers attending to 100+ students in a classroom and they are paid the same I'm paid). Really, the system needs to change as teachers are underpaid all around the world.
