2. Settlement, under new rules as a medium skilled immigrant married to a British Citizen I would have to be here for at most 15 years before settlement and make 12.5k annually for at least 3-5 years of that time. They have a new 'earned settlement' (rolls eyes) system which means I could reduce that 15 years to 2-5 added years to the time I've already been here, but I need to volunteer, have some sort of full time job that brings in just over 1k a month (closer to 1.1k). And I have to pay another large fee, take tests to prove I've assimilate and integrated into 'British society'.

3. Citizenship, another fee, another test, but hey it's citizenship. I just apparently won't have access to public funds.

Currently trying to transition between step one and two, and would have next year if they hadn't changed the rules so drastically.

As a disabled person (audhd, CPTSD, chronic pain) and an artist that is desperately trying to make a living for myself, this is a problem. This is a massive problem. If I don't make serious steps to earning a stable income through patreon to the tune of 1.1k, I will not be able to continue being an artist as my career until I'm well into my thirties.

After everything I've been through to get to this point, I feel like very honestly crawling into a hole and dying. I will not sugarcoat how awful this feels for me. The job market is awful, I live in an extremely impoverished part of the UK, I am not a cishet man who is able bodied. The last time I was in a part time retail job I had to leave due to being sick, physically and mentally, all the time, being literally harassed for being Jewish by my coworkers and visibly queer/trans by customers, and in general wanting a better life for myself.

I need to reach as many people who are willing and able to give a chance on my patreon, the long explanation will be under a readmore but the TLDR is that I will be deported back to the USA (from the UK) if I don't meet the £5k immigration fees needed to renew my visa, and will never be able to get settlement/citizenship if I do not make £12.5k annually under the current rules.

Hence the reason for patreon specific goals and not just a kofi goal or similar fundraiser.

I ran a similar event in February called Breed that Bhaalspawn but we didn't hit any monetary goals so I'm doing a less oc centric event this time around!

🩸I don't get deported back the USA to an abusive family and a fascist country. I have a husband, three cats, and a very lovely in law family here in the UK.

All you have to do is reblog here on tumblr, and/or become a patron if you have the means to. I cannot stress enough that I will either get deported or be completely unable to become a citizen if I do not meet my goals. It's either this or shelve my artist career, and I do not want to and should not have to do that simply because I fell in love with a UK citizen.
