a work in progress and a pic of michael jackson and toni braxton in the year 2000. i love this kind of stark flash lighting, the in between, the crowd, the colors, the absurdity of showbiz. all the drop shadows and mystery people and the contrast between the epic myths and inner realities of every echelon of public figure. it's amazing that people are electing themselves for the nightmare of fame via social media, and i think about the stories that may guide the compulsion and drive and when i see this pic of michael and toni, i think about how we didn't totally know what was coming. this feels like such a contrast to our current psychosis. recognition as a weapon. i dunno. feels good to be painting again bless up

first is a girl that's been on my fridge for over ten years - i think i couldn't resist this postcard when i was in new york once. second is my manson family bar mitzvah painting. I really want to return to painting, I've been feeling really stuck there the past year and I'm not sure why. third is a polaroid i took of the sunlan lady when i went to go interview her about the unbridled power and and magic of lumens. that was a thrill of my life forth is my grace jones at studio 54 painting. i miss painting!~!! its something i lvoe and looking back on this is very cool - just look at that fucking floor maybe i just start there with a berzerk pattern like that. kind of wish i didn't sell this but i did sell it to a communist stripper named grace who was earning her law degree so that's kind of amazing.

dispatches from the post LA overwhelm, oil slick reflection and come down! my old stand by goodwill camera score from 2013 died for real this time so i had to load up my old olympus gooodwill score from 2016 or something and damn, it takes a good photo that's great. what happens now????????? my mind is watery yet murky like a chunky gazpacho. nothing feels impossible but the implications of everything introduce something sinister. i may just need the company of my projects for a few days.

Alwin Nicolais is a total big thinker total fusion visionary freak who did insane set design, has his own philosophy of choreography, designs each slide projected on their indescribable dance productions, and even created his own scores splicing together tape... i can't get enough I'm flabbergasted by this guy.

sumi ink has really changed my hand and freed me up, i'm loving these loose and crazy things. having to wait for it to dry is also good, overworking isn't really feasible.
