the pour is gentle

the crumble of the sugar

light between your fingers

the cup high in your palms

wrapped in your breath

it runs deep into your mouth

and is sweet on your tongue

a remembrance of her

and it's warm in your chest

There is a story about this somewhere

of a woman who had a million thoughts but hardly pursued a handful___

wake up in the morning

don't wake up 

eyes half way shut

and your there 

and you see them

and it’s beautiful

colored papers littering the floor

smiles curling and bending

and then this wash of disappointment hits

like all the others before

and you won't quite be sure why
