It was a Friday, or was it Saturday? Hitoya didn't even know at this point. He'd been out late the night before, taking on yet another bullying case. The lawyer, despite getting barely any sleep, woke up early like always. He expected a quiet apartment, maybe his neighbours yelling, but what he didn't expect to find was two teens sitting in his living room.

"What the hell are you two doing in my apartment at such an ungodly hour... Better yet, how the hell did you get in?!" In all his exhaustion, he'd forgotten he gave them a spare key in case of an emergency, it's easy to forget when they rarely come over

"Eh?! The hell you shouting for, old man! You gave us a key, so we're gonna use it, duh. Is your age getting to you?"

"Good morrow, my brethren, for today is a glorious day! Let us rejoice this beautiful morning!"

What a lovely surprise for the lawyer... A red haired monk who acted the furthest thing from a monk, and a vkei who switched personality like clockwork. Hitoya sighed and walked into the kitchen, going to make breakfast for the three of them. He assumed they hadn't eaten yet.

"Eggs or toast? I need to go shopping today..." He dragged a hand down his face, looking over at the two teenagers sitting on his couch, playing uno.

"Eggs please!"

"What Jyushi said..."

"Yeah, sure, whatever..."

Hitoya sighed and grabbed four eggs; 2 for Kuko and 2 for Jyushi. Having made breakfast for them before, even just having taken them out for breakfast, he knew how they preferred their eggs made. Jyushi liked sunnyside up eggs, while Kuko preferred scrambled.

"So! Whatcha wanna do for your birthday, punk ass lawyer?"

"Sleep in. But apparently with you kids that's impossible, so, get coffee."

"You heard the man, Jyushi! Grab his jacket!"

"I can drink coffee at home?!"

"Nahhhh, we're treating you today, ain't that right?"

Jyushi nodded and smiled, holding out Hitoya's jacket. The lawyer sighed and took his jacket.

"Fine. Let's go."

"Waitwaitwait, let us eat first old man, we're not like you!"

"Mhm... Eat up. I'll be paying, again..."

Both teens looked at each other then at the man in front of them and smiled, almost grinning

"You wish, old man!"

"Let us pay this time, Hitoya-san! Think of it as us paying you back!"

"Yeah, yeah, fine. Just don't buy me anything stupid..."

"We won't, we pinkie promise!"

After eating, the three of them made their way to the coffee shop near Hitoya's place. It wasn't too fancy, but it fit Hitoya's taste, which was exactly what the two boys wanted. They had to play "rock, paper, scissors" between themselves to decide who paid for coffee. The lawyer found it oddly endearing.

"You boys know I can pay for myself, right? Save your pocket money."

"But... Hitoya-san! You've done so much for us! We wanna repay you!" Jyushi whined, already pulling out his phone to pay.

"What Jyushi said. You didn't give up on us, so we're not giving this up until you enjoy your birthday." Kuko grinned and held out a thumbs up, proud of himself for organizing this with Jyushi.

"I mean, I was literally just doing my job... But, yeah, your welcome I guess?" Hitoya sighed and ruffled their hair before going to sit down.

Having the two of them pay technically meant he saved money, and how he loved his money... There was two things he loved; firstly, bringing the bullied to justice, secondly, money. Who doesn't love money?

Around 1pm, the three bad ass temple members were sitting in Hitoya's apartment playing splatoon. Despite the two teens being hesitant, they *did* agree to let Hitoya pick what he wants to do for his birthday... So, here they are. Two teenagers and a 36 year old man, playing splatoon together peacefully... Well... As peacefully as you can with the most competitive man you've ever known... Especially when he starts his screaming at the TV.

"YOU MORON OTHER WAY"

"I'M TRYING OLD MAN. YOUR CONTROLLER IS JUST OLD"

"MY CONTROLLER IS JUST FINE YOU'RE JUST SLOW"

There is it. This was the reason why Jyushi and Kuko never played games with Hitoya. The lawyer was far too competitive, but it was also funny, well, it was funny if you weren't playing with him or against him...

"Hitoya-san, calm down! You'll ruin your throat if you keep yelling like that! You too, Kuko!"

"TELL THAT TO THE GRANDPA"

"GRANDPA?! HAVE SOME RESPECT YOU LITTLE SHIT."
