Consistent Awkwardness

(Name) couldn’t help that they grew feelings for someone. That someone being Genji Shimada. Hes’ saved their life multiple times when they were out on missions. They were pretty close friends, they’d meditate together, talk about life in general, and whenever Genji felt like playing video games he’d always invite them.

But…it was a well known fact that Genji really likes Angela. Similar to how (Name) fell in love with Genji, Angela saved his life by fixing him.

It hurt (Name) badly whenever Genji would bring up Angela in their conversations.

“Ah, Dr. Ziegler passed by me today, she waved at me.” Genji melted.

“Oh…really?” (Name) looked down, feeling their heart drop.

“Yes…Do you…Do you think she will accept my feelings?” Genji asked. (Name)’s eyes widen, their head shot up and looked at Genji. He had his face plate on still, but he was faced toward the view, Gibraltar’s sunset over the sea.

“You’re going to confess to her?” (Name) felt anxiety swell up in their stomach.

“I have made up my mind, I think I’m going to tell her tonight!” Genji shot up from his seat, fueled with determination to let Angela know about his undying love for her. (Name) only sat silently, their heart sinking even lower, tears filling their vision daring to fall. “Arigoto, (Name)-Chan!” Genji patted their back before running off. It was undenyingly painful to hear someone you love express their love for someone else.

“…It’s not as bad then getting rejected though right…?” They quietly whispered as tears ran down their cheeks uncontrollably. They couldn’t hold it together anymore, it hurt so fucking bad. Why can’t Genji understand they’ve got feelings for him? Why did have to love Angela? It’s selfish to think, but why can’t everything fall in their favor?

It’s hard to recover from a broken heart. It’s hard to love someone else with a broken heart. It’s hard to even live with a broken heart.

They next day, Genji rejoiced with happiness, Anglea had felt the same way. He raced towards his usual hangout spot to tell his best friend, (Name). When he couldn’t find them there, he raced to their room, not there either. Soon he ran into Winston,

“Oh, hello there Genji.” Winston adjusted his glasses.

“Winston, do you know where (Name) is?”

“No, actually, I was going to question you…”
