Patron Saints of One-Way Trips
Ryan Gosling’s career has just been one long quest to climb the Warner Bros water tower
that man has been trying to climb this tower since he was 16. he has asked multiple times, and every time they said no, but now he’s famous enough & variety was able to convince them to do a shoot on the tower. it all led here. it was all for this.
I’m obsessed with the implication that this was a coming-of-age ritual where a boy becomes a man, like a bar mitzvah
the evening light feels different here.

A pyromancer who burns most of her outfits 🔥🔥🔥 (Adara's 4 year redesign)
Idk man I started interacting with 18+ material when I was like 14/15 and became better off for it. I learned a lot, including how to make good choices about what material I looked at and interacted with. I talked to people of all ages and had good experiences with it, even within fandom smut spaces where sex was discussed. I made some mistakes, but I learned from them, and would have been even better off if I had been able to discuss these things openly with trusted adults in my life rather than grounded from the computer.
I know very few people who never accessed 18+ mature content before they were 18. But. They did NOT benefit from being completely isolated from adult material until they were suddenly given access to all of it and expected to know how to handle themselves. There’s a lot of strange infantilization about teenagers - no you can’t look at porn or go to the bathroom when you want, but the second you turn 18 you magically become capable of joining the military and smoking and getting hello kitty tattooed on your face? And idk how to tell ya but there are a lot of people who have sex before they turn 18. There are a lot of people who become parents before they turn 18.
I just think there’s more nuance to the whole MINORS DNI!!! stuff
@muzzleboywhump @evilwriter37 @acelightningwhumper I keep hearing this sentiment about worrying about getting into legal trouble, but I’ve never actually seen confirmed that you could get in trouble. Is there actually a law or something, or is it hearsay? Because it’s not illegal to post adult content online. It’s not illegal to post it without flagging it as adult content, either.
Now, if I was talking to someone under the impression that they were of the age of minority, I could understand being contacted by a parent who says “hey my kid is underage please don’t talk to them” like okay yeah no problem, but…why would posting on my personal blog become illegal if a minor sees it? I don’t understand. If there’s something I don’t know then I’d rather be informed! I want to protect myself too! I feel like I just see vague fearmongering about it and I wonder if it comes from a real source
You know... That's a fair point, because now I'm trying to remember valid sources for that kind of thing. It might just be hearsay? I'd have to do research, but don't really know where to start.
In the publishing world, erotica, erotic romance, and such were generally clearly labeled.
First out of an abundance of caution so that anyone picking it up would know what they were getting into. Not just kids. You'd be surprised how common the "clean" label is with the adult audience.
The second reason was because readers of those works often knew specifically what they were looking for. Less a warning and more a promise. Trust me putting a M/M/M label on a story didn't equate to fewer readers. (That particular label indicates an all male threesome will take place.)
But overall, just posting is not usually a problem unless you are posting in a spot designed to attract underage people.
The other tricky spot seems to be teaching. We have seen public school teachers fired because someone discovered they were writing erotic romance, even if that was under a penname and unconnected to the job.
I'm not a teacher but I've kept my novels listed on my resume and LinkedIn because that way if anyone objects i can say "that information was disclosed before you hired me."
