Iâm gonna edit this when I have time, but for now just enjoy. Also this is a part of my series Lost Child
âI am already excited to finally get sorted.â I said, as a boy with dark hair entered Madame Malkinâs Robes for All Occasions. Madame Malkins, dressed all in malve, hurried to him. âHogwarts, dear?â she asked. âGot two others here. Getting fitted up just now.â She pointed at us, while speaking to the boy. After bringing him into the back of her shop, she pointed at the last free footstool and the boy hopped on it.
âHello,â greeted Draco, âHogwarts, too?â
âMy fatherâs next door buying my books and Mother is up the street looking at wands,â explained Draco, bored and wishing to be back home already. The two boys started speaking about brooms and Quidditch, while my thoughts wandered back to the Sorting hat and me being selected for a house, Slytherin, and be god with me if not.
My robes were done before Dracos, so I already stepped off the footstool and went to pay for my robes.
âI say, look at that man!â said Draco suddenly, nodding towards the front window. When I turned my head to see who Draco found so interesting, I saw Hagrid. Standing there and waving, with two large ice cream cones, at the unknown boy. He was now also hopping off the footstool, looking relieved that he could stop talking to Draco and, to be honest, I would have been too if he talked to me about Quidditch. Which he tried to do when we were younger, but quickly stopped after he noticed how little I knew and cared.
âWell, weâll see you in Hogwarts, I assume.â I said, as he walked by me to exit the store. He gave me a short nod, then he was out the door and took one of the cones from Hagrid's hands.
Draco finished and we proceeded to meet up with his father, who picked up the books for both of us. After keeping Draco from getting his own broom, we could walk to Olivanders together, to buy our own wands.
I was so excited. He measured me, my arms, my height, my hands, even the tip of my pinky. Then the measuring tape rolled itself up and landed at my feet.
âHere, Miss.âsaid Mister Olivander. âCherry wood and a Unicorn hair string. 10 inches. Quite whippy andâŚâ but he didnât finish his sentence, he snatched the wand out of my hand and offered me a different one.
âTry this one. Redwood and phoenix feather. 9 Âź inches. Nice and Flexible. - No, I don't think so.â
âEastern White Pine and Phoenix feather. 8 ½ inches and supple. - No, not this one.â
âMhh, maybe this one. East Indian Rosewood and a dragon heartstring, 12 inches long and rather stiff.â Suddenly there was a warmth spreading through my fingers, slowly creeping through my whole body.
I raised the wand on eye level and a stream of red and green sparks came out of the tip, like a miniature firework.
âWell, congratulations to your wand.âsaid Mister Olivander, with a smile on his face while I paid for the wand, 7 Galleons and 10 Knuts.
The early afternoon sun, still high in the sky, shone down on the four of us, Lucius, Narcissa, Draco, and me, as we made our way down Diagon Alley, through the wall and into the Leaky Cauldron. We stepped, one after the other, into the fire and made our way through the flu network back to Malfoy manor, where my father already waited to pick me up and bring me back home.
My father, Severus Snape. And back home, Hogwarts. Since I can remember I grew up there. Even though sometimes in the summer we were at our little house in Spinner's End. Well, I also spent a good amount of my childhood at Malfoy manor. Me and Draco were close friends, like our fathers.
We slept outside on warm summer nights and cuddled up in a blanket fort when it was pouring rain.
Every year on my birthday they would take me and Draco to Diagon Alley and we would eat ice cream and look at new things and inventions of the wizarding world.
In the evening, my dad would come and pick me up, the house elves would prepare a great feast and we, that means the Hogwarts staff and I, would eat it together.
But this year everything was different, of course we still went to Diagon Alley and a feast in the evening also happened, but this year I got my letter. So instead of spending all our time eating ice cream, we went shopping for school supplies. I was so excited to go to school.
