My animation will be called Nighttow, this will be a story about the hikikomori syndrome.

Hikikomori is a term used for all the people who live socially reclused in the darkness of their rooms because the outside world became too scary for them.

In the animation Nighttown, the protagonist called Hikiko is a young victim of this syndrome where social anxiety leads her into living 27/7 in her room. 

Most of her time she plays at a videogame called “Nighttown”. This is a sci-fi retro game where the plot is that of a black hole and its army of robots descended into the earth to steal the sunlight. The goal is to kill this black hole and bring the sunlight back to shine on earth sice is always night (nighttown).

Hikiko is playing this game for so long that she’ill experience a trip where reality and virtual reality will become a twisted in chaos.

In this trip she will experience the videogame in the first person where the black hole will try to absorb not only the sunlight but also her.

This tremendous experience will give her an input to leave her room for the first time in a long, long, long time.

-SUN AS A MESSAGE OF HOPE FOR RECOVERY-

When exiting her room (which is rare for a hikikomori) she will come out and see a beautiful sunrise which will recall the sunshine she tried to bring back in the game, but she’ll be amazed to see it in person for the first time in a long time. She will see the beauty in the outside world.
