“In his recent sweeping and skillful Toni Morrison lectures, “Mike Brown’s Body: Meditations on War, Race and Democracy,” Robin Kelley draws an extraordinary conclusion. Kelley asserts that Michael Brown should be understood as “collateral damage in a perpetual war whose colonial roots are still alive.” He situates the police murder of the eighteen year old Black man in the suburban municipality of Ferguson in a much larger and longer history of imperial violence. In contrast to claims emerging out of security studies that locate unending warfare in the period post-2001, Kelley argues that the entire history of American racial oppression is a story of perpetual war. Kelley explicitly asserts that “coloniality and capitalism are inseparable,” and that the U.S. racial state must be understood historically and geographically as transnational imperial violence, simultaneously reliant on indigenous dispossession and enslaved labor. His approach to the problem of anti-black violence in America locates it firmly within settler colonialism, both mirroring and amplifying the exciting engagements underway between critical race theory and indigenous studies, feminist and queer theory. “War,” he argues, “begins at the point of settlement with the shipment of kidnapped Africans across the Atlantic, the enslavement of indigenous people, with rape and pillage, forced removals, not to mention religious conversion and compulsory assimilation.” Kelley’s arguments question the distinction between “internal” and “external” organized violence, and so too the supposedly foundational separation underpinning the modern state system between police and military force. In its place, Kelley offers a profoundly important rethinking of space. The “domestic situation” becomes one site in a wider cartography of imperial violence that transformed, rather than expired with, emancipation.”

When Israel destroyed his university, he was deeply affected because he had excelled in his studies and aspired to become a successful and well-known engineer.
When his family returned to their home, after being displaced five times, bombs fell on their house. They miraculously survived the explosion, but Fadel was unfortunately injured and fainted.
Fadel woke up in the hospital and learned that due to the complete collapse of hospitals in northern Gaza, he and his family had been transferred, under extremely dangerous conditions, to a hospital in southern Gaza.
Furthermore, he learned that while unconscious, he had undergone surgery to remove metal shrapnel that had penetrated his body during the bombing. Due to the extreme danger and the collapse of the healthcare system, some of the pieces could not be removed on the spot. A doctor assessed his health and informed his family that he needed to receive treatment in another country as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, his travel and surgeries require travel and treatment expenses, and his family cannot afford them due to their deteriorating economic situation caused by the war. Therefore, Fadl created a campaign to enable him to travel and receive treatment as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, his campaign is progressing very slowly, having only raised 2,952 euros out of a target of 30,000 euros. I ask everyone to stand by him and help him.
He bled profusely that day. His normal blood count is low because he has thalassemia. The cost of the medication is too high for them, and he has fainted several times.
So far, they have waited more than 400 days to reach their fundraising goal so he can receive the necessary surgery. 400 days of physical and psychological suffering, feeling shrapnel from the Israeli bombing that destroyed his childhood home embedded in his body.

For almost a whole year and half I have been living in Gaza, where wardestruction and chaos spread everywhere in Gaza.
My home and my university were completely destroyed .
I am currently in Deir El Balah after I have displaced from my city Gaza , trying to save money to rebuild home to live in a safe place with my family. My father is an old man who lost his work and my mom also lost her work. I need you to support me and my family to build our life again.
Because of the war, it has become impossible to provide money to live, buy food, clean and drinkable water, and education here. This money will be used to provide what the war has destroyed for us, and also to provide a place to stay, especially since we are now approaching the winter season, where we need winter clothes, repair the damage to the house, and provide what protects us from the cold and hunger of winter.
Gaza has become a place full of destruction and is no longer suitable for any opportunity here. Diseases have spread in the Gaza Strip, especially those skin diseases for which there is no treatment due to the war.
